Is it possible to do the banshee driver eject glitch on Halo? Because if so, that could skip most of the second level, unless you need to hit triggers, but even then...
It's possible to get the banshee drivers out of the second level, but the game doesn't allow you to fly in them. Also, the pelican dropping in the hog is a possible trigger to continue the level as well.
I love watching these, because the whole time I'm like "Oh, I can do that, oh that doesn't look hard" and I'm so full of my own shit it's not even funny lol

Having just played this campaign a couple weekends ago, with no experience in speedrunning tricks, let me tell you - this run is actually insane. The tricks are SO precise - GarishGoblin is truly showing that practice makes perfect. I have an immense amount of respect for you, Garish! Well done!

One of the things I really liked about the Halo games is all of the unique dialogue they recorded for the marines. Lots of conditional voice lines that are hilarious throughout the games.

27:26 to 27:45 is awesome. 29:55 to 30:18 is insane. 30:34 to 30:45 is even more insane. 32:23 to 32:33 is equally nuts. 36:37 is a 200 IQ boost. 43:57 to 44:29 WTF IS THAT SKIP!?? When was that discovered? How? You know the game is optimized when the entirety of Two Betrayals seems like a TAS only strat. o_O Also, that TnR WR is RIDICULOUS!!! Godlike lift clear and an OOB trick I've never seen before. That nade stack made me say "Daaamn", lol. Congrats on the big WR! Looking forward to sub 106 someday, and Easy coming down to match it.
@@lukeskywalker1215 People have been speedrunning Halo CE for over a decade and a half and only as of last month (August 2020) has Legendary full game been faster than Easy full game. Going forward it will likely continue to be faster because Garish has done a ton of work to push this game, but its definitely wrong to present it like its just a fact of Halo. Garish has optimized the legendary run so much more than any H1 full game runner ever. On top of Garish's incredible commitment to improvement, there have been dozens of new tricks and glitches that even the playing field between easy and legendary. There are 2 instances where legendary is faster than easy in the run. On POA, Legendary doesnt have to do the tutorial so it saves about a minute over easy. On AOTCR, a banshee spawns earlier on legendary allowing you to go faster than easy. However these 2 timesaves on legendary are offset by other differences. Fewer enemy waves to fight on easy and the ability to run passed enemies without fear of death make save a considerable amount of time on easy. Additionally the timings for doors on Library to unlock are faster on easy than on legendary.
@@MisterMonopoli I was going off the fact that there's some things in legendary you can't do in easy cause it would kill you and can't do things like banshee grab on aotcr on easy. But if that's wrong then I apologize. Also huge fan of you so thank you for the reply.

27:30 I had no idea you could get that Banshee. That seems way more consistent then jumping off the left side of the bridge and trying to scale your way down through a series if careful falls.
Hey Garish, If found out that if you dont skip the bridge at the beginning of the second mission, and you jump on the rock on the left the banshee will drop and get stuck on the trees. Maybe with more manipulation there could be a way to steal it.
