Fragrance Connoisseurs, we got our hands on Perseus by Parfums de Marly. This is a full bottle presentation and full wearing review. This was not a gifted or promotional bottle, neither is this a sponsored video. Get my unbiased opinion on Parfums de Marly's latest release.

I’m happy with PDM althair at the moment, i get compliments from girls! Once weather gets hotter i will buy Perseus.
Update on my wearing of Perseus. It is 70 and sunny here today. Did full spray wearing and much better feeling about this fragrance. Was trying it prior with 40’s and cloudy and not really appreciating. Today Grapefruit and Vetiver really worked with the soft woods. There seemed to be a slight sweetness that I had not noticed prior. Not sure about projection as it is first warmer day and first full wear. Definitely a warm weather scent. Longevity is solid as well.
I agree that this will shine brighter in the warmer weather. I wore it again today as I went to Nordstrom's to get my nose on Terre de Hermes Eau Givree, since many are saying that they are similar. The openings are similar, not 1:1 but in the same neighborhood. The drydown is different between the two. IMO, the Terre de Hermes is more linear and sticks more to the citrus accord.

The opening is similar to TDH Eau Givree but it’s mainly the grapefruit/ citrus and vetiver combo that remind you of TDH. The dry down on this is very similar to Elysium PC but Perseus is much more musky and a bit sweet and Elysium is a bit more green and less musky. Perseus though projects and lasts way longer than Elysium. I got to say I am not very fond of the opening and the first 30-40 mins until it gets to that far dry down, that’s when the magic happens. It’s a bit more feminine leaning/ unisex than Elysium, but good nonetheless. If you don’t get to that 45 min. far dry down and don’t try it on skin, you are not really getting to know Perseus.
I totally agree. I had the same experience with it. It was at the far dry down that I started to appreciate the fragrance.
You're comparing an exlcusif to a standard release so I think those boxes have always been different. Great review and quality of channel. Thank you. Just ordered the 75ml. Can't wait.

YES I AM LOOKING TO PURCHASE. IM A SUMMER BABY. BUY IT NOW LET MATURE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. SHOULD PERFORM WELL IN THE JULY HEAT. IM HOPING😩😊
It will perform well. It stayed on my skin for 8+ hours. I really like the green mandarin/vetiver combination in the mid.

Went to the PDM store today in Manhattan NYC… wanted to like this fragrance soooooo much.. to me you’re better off taking grapefruit and spilling it on your chest.. it smells like a grapefruit …and it dries down to a medicine pill type of smell.. it’s nothing spectacular at all… if you want a better citrus PDM scent.. go with SEDLEY… a great winter and fall scent is PDM ALTHAIR🤷🏾♂️
I agree about the opening. The grapefruit is very prominent in the opening. It takes some getting used to….at least for me. The dry down to me is better with the dry woods and mandarin.
@@TheFragranceConnoisseurs right i kept smelling my hand all day… and its the dry down where it opens up.. its just no enough for me to purchase this sent .. i went with Sedley instead
I plan to do a PDM fresh review that will go through all of them soon. My favorite of the fresh line is Percival.
I like the new packaging. Smaller, sleeker, less risk of dropping your bottle when you unbox it.
That’s true. That is another way to look at it. Definitely won’t stop buying PDM because of the box.
Comparing to Percival, Sedley and Greenley where do you rank Perseus?
Percival is definitely my favorite. I will put the rest to the test against Perseus and follow up with this comment. I will have to compare them side by side to rank.

Is it synthetic, or do they use good natrulls. Also would you recommend this for a summer sent and if so would you wait for prices to go down or get it first.
It smells very natural. I would recommend this for summer. I think it will do well in the heat and it won’t be cloying. I was amazed at how quickly Althair hit the gray market/discount websites. If this one does the same you could save about $100 by waiting 6-8 weeks.

In my opinion it smells very similar if not exactly like Terre D'Hermes eau Givree. In my opinion I think nobody wants to be the one that says it and want to just play like they don’t smell it to be the same . I sprayed each on either arm and asked people if they could smell the difference and nobody could lol.
I will have to get my nose on that one. I am not familiar with it. I will get a decant and follow up.

I went to Nordstroms today and tested Terre de Hermès’ Eau Givree. They are similar. They dry down a little differently but what you get from the initial spray is in the same neighborhood. Perseus lasts longer though. Thanks for giving me that insight.

I would compare it to elysium but I think I like elysium more
Elysium is blended more and not as prominent of a grapefruit citrus opening.
Spray on skin and review please.
I will incorporate that and do a follow up. I did not spray it on skin during the video.
It smells more like Bleecker Street than anything in my opinion
I have to get more Bond #9 fragrances.
It is similar to Bleecker St in the drydown . Not the same but similar due to how sweet and musky it is.
@@DarkHorse51 I will have to say the dry down is so much better than the opening to me. I will have to revisit it a few times this summer to see how the fragrance sits with me.

I definitely respect your opinion. It is not my favorite fresh PDM fragrance. The dry down is growing on me though.
