- Tyler Christopher, most known for his role in 'General Hospital', has died. He was 50. Tyler's co-star, Maurice Benard, confirmed the news on Instagram, revealing he died after a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.

Wow!!! So sad and sorry for his family, friends, and coworkers. He was a great actor and I watched grow and develop his craft on GH for years. There will never be a better Nickolas Cassidine.😢
I loved his character from day one on GH. I had the hugest crush on Tyler.Years ago he was filming a movie near my hometown in Pennsylvania.I was driving with by a funeral home and he was standing outside.I screamed his name twice like I knew him 😅 and waved like any obsessed fan would ❤ Thank You Tyler Christopher 🙏 You gave us joy in this Life.
He was my favorite Nicolas on GH. Obviously his life was much like Matthew Perry with the alcohol and drugs. My heart goes out to his family and friends and co-workers. This is a huge loss for daytime television and us GH fans. May he and Matthew Perry find everlasting peace on the other side. 💔😭🕊💐

The vaccine is SAFE, Tyler was a weak willed man who abused alcohol and drugs and CHOSE to destroy his life
According to many sources the cardiac event was caused by many years of alcohol and substance abuse .
I got to meet him once at a Super Soap Weekend. He was as you would expect - laid back, kind and took great pictures! This is so sad. I feel for his kids and all his loved ones. What a tragic loss!

This was shocking i didn't believe at first because you know the whole you can't believe everything on internet but when it said Maurice said something on instagram about his death i went to check it out i couldn't believe like what is happening seriously alot of celebrities are passing sad i loved him as nikolas cassadine and stefan he was great when played both characters.
Yeah I was thinking how ironic it was that Stefan died on “Days Of Our Lives”.
Total shock, he was a wonderful actor. Enjoyed watching him as Nicholas on GH and Stefan on DOOL.Too young!!

I used to watch General Hospital and I remember this dude he was a great actor this took me by surprise where Matthew Perry wasn't a surprise because I heard he had drinking problems and possible drug problems but drinking problems for sure all these deaths left right and center are definitely dropping the world population which is sad like really sad 😔 Like I said what is happening my goodness gracious

Man this sucks. I liked this guy. He was on Maurice Benard's podcast STATE OF MIND on UA-cam. He suffered a LONG time from Bipolar Mania and drugs and alcohol. He talked about it on the Maurice's show. Sad.

@@deronreed2945 I'm shocked because it's shocking to hear of anyone dying at his age. But I'm not surprised because of his history with alcohol. Not saying he was drunk or drinking at the time of his death...I have no way of knowing that. It's just that being an alcoholic takes a toll on a body

All these actors dying way way too soon and so many others as well. The majority having had some kind of a cardiac episode OUT OF THE BLUE 😳 when previously either fit and well or never having suffered with their heart. Strange how ever since "C" just a few years ago and a certain "V" that now we are sadly seeing people either suffering for the rest of their lives or just passing away.

While I can't say that Tyler was a close friend (He preferred to be called "Ty"), I was blessed to know him personally. He was always courteous, helpful and just generally a classy person. His death is a loss.

Yes. I could tell when he was free of alcohol. He was so handsome and such an outstanding actor. Alcohol does not help someone struggling with a mental illness, only exacerbates the awful symptoms. Rest in Peace, dear Tyler!
