Honestly Hasn’t been a bad place to live, it’s always nice to come back and see the umpqua river with the fields between the mountains, just a peaceful little area.
Nice video. Grew up in Myrtle Creek, have lived here pretty much all my life. You missed the Neal Lane covered bridge, you were about a 1/2 mile from it in MC.
@noelbgood8845 I honestly have no idea what kids do for fun these days. Back when I was in high school, we drove 17 miles north to Roseburg and cruised up and down Harvard Ave. and hung out at Mr. Pizza which was out west Harvard. Mr. Pizza is long gone and Roseburg put a stop to cruising Harvard long ago. Roseburg also had movie theaters, even a drive in theater back then. I did however watch Star Wars at the Rio theater in Myrtle Creek back in 77.
@noelbgood8845 I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. Myrtle Creek isn't bad as far as small towns go. I have seen it change quite a bit over the years. We are fortunate to have several saw/plywood mills in neighboring Riddle that provide employment for alot of MC residents. If not for that, MC would probably not be doing as well.
@noelbgood8845 Yes, there are bears and cougars in the area, too many in my opinion, mainly due to Oregons idiotic restrictions for hunting them. The cougars are taking a toll on the deer and elk populations. Something to consider when out hiking in the forest.

I drove by it, but I guess I wasn’t sure if I could drive through or where I could park.
