Always cut the staff that performs the actual work/ care. So doing the same amount of work if not more with less staff. Management says healthcare of patients won’t be affected ?? Advance learning modules on the computer will probably be implemented creating a new acronym so remaining staff can memorize !! Expanding their efficiency opening their minds . While the CEO will push a cookie cart through the hospital demonstrating heart felt solidarity with the staff in these tough times. Of course management salary or jobs won’t be cut. Question ? Would you rather have a health care staff of 1 nurse to 4 patients or a staff of 1 nurse to 8 patients taking care of your child ???? Any heath care facility nursing home, children’s hospital , anything. Ask - WHAT IS YOUR PATIENT CARE RATIO ? So given 1 to 4 or 1 to 8 choose the 1 to 4. You’re receiving better care. It’s common sense also showing how seriously the healthcare organization is to actually taking care of your actual performed healthcare. Always remember its cheaper to have good marketing ………we have the best of the best healthcare but in reality have the worst of the worst PATIENT CARE RATIO. Least amount of caregivers that administers the care that they can get away with will ensure the greatest revenue for the healthcare business. Basically do the most with the least maximizing profit business model. Of course not all are bad . Be informed ❤️

They don't ACTUALLY do anything, useful... It's a platitude. A friendly gesture. A pleasantry. That's all a '2 week notice' is, or rather, was. Smoked a lot of pot and many hours pondering it.
Americas out of control, for profit approach is wrong. Medical is a fundamental basic ALL HUMAN BEINGS NEED, REQUIREMENT, BASIC RIGHT, WORLDWIDE.
There are TONS of doctors, nurses if not all just want a comfortable life as the real reward has nothing to do with money. I honestly believe that.

That's not the problem, bubbie---those are the people doing a lot of the work. It's the big corportations & non-profits (catholic church in my area) laying off workers so the admin (pope?) can have big salaries, fancy cars, mansions---admins are the ones making the decisions about their own salaries---how screwed up is that?

That's a huge problem actually. Our federal and state budgets can't sustain the huge giveaways our politicians are giving to illegals. And have you noticed how long it is now before you can get an appointment? That's what happens with 15 million new people in the country.

Kinda true but not as rare as you think. Just 5 or so years ago there was another mass layoff at MD Anderson Cancer Center here in Houston where they laid off over 1,000 people. It was a very big deal since that's a lot of people at a top tier institution.
Just in January Harris County Hospitals ( our county funded hospital system) laid off over 100 people which is a smaller number but still significant. It's been quietly happening for a while and ultimately I think it will cause a lowering of wages because workers will be more desperate and those who keep their jobs will be more willing to stay for lower pay.
