That's awesome your daughter gets out there with you. Can't wait to see if my little girl is going to be interested in building cars with her old man. Your lucky dude.
I know, it's awesome. She's a trooper and enjoyed the trip..we spent a few days doing every state in the northeast US looking for treasure. Wait until the next few videos LOL !
I’m from Harwinton. That’s my main mining spot haha. Right under that bridge i found a piece of wire gold so there is native gold In the area. Lots of interesting history regarding gold prospecting and treasure in the area. If your ever back let me know. I can bring you to some other spots on lead mine brook too!
I work in Burlington and have recently become obsessed with gold prospecting. I've had a cheap pan for years that I would bring fishing with me sometimes, but I really got the fever about 2 months ago and now I'm much more equipped. Let me know if you'd be down to get together sometime and launder rocks. I'd love to hear about whatever history or lore you've learned about the area, too.
Can’t believe you as an avid outdoorsman have never had morel mushrooms! Soo glad you enjoyed them! I’m from Gettysburg Pa and We used to hunt then when I was a kid it’s been awhile I need to get out this coming year!
I am glad I stumbled on this video! I am from CT myself. I have always heard that a glacier ran over us, but never had anything in school that taught us about it. I just happened to stumble upon Jeff Williams on UA-cam the other day, I am sure you are familiar with him. That led me to here. I went to a military surplus store yesterday that happened to have some gold pans, so I figured what the hell, I'll buy one and give it a whirl. I am in a position now where my wife is making enough money at her job that I can try to get back into UA-cam and find something I actually enjoy. This year, I intend on doing a good bit of motorcycle camping, so I am hoping to explore, maybe find some gemstones, and of course, have a miserable time at trying to gold pan! Thanks for the video!
Just came across this video. I grew up in Harwinton on a dairy farm about quarter mile from there…looks like Swimming Hole Rd. We used to play down there when we were kids and many years before that, folks used to jump off the bridge into the swimming hole but they filled it in so can’t do that anymore 😢Thanks for the video very cool to see as I don’t live there anymore
Shane, I commented once before on this vid when you first posted it. Like I said in that post, I am from Connecticut, not far from Harwington, and we were there visiting family recently. With not alot to do due to obvious reasons, I brought my gold panni g gear on the trip and did some prospecting over to Coppermine Creek, which is not far from where you and your daughter were in the video. In 2 days, (about 3 hrs each day), between me and my son, we got almost 1/8th of an ounce of gold out of the creek. My son planned out one decent sized 'almost' a micro picker and the rest between us was a little bigger than flour gold. I have heard stories of small nuggets being found on the Creek but like I said, stories. Not many people prospect there anymore as alot of the Coppermi e area and where you were is actually private property. Anyway, once again, thank you for coming here. Now for me, back in New York...where it is actually illegal to prospect for gold or silver due to an old law from the 1800s that says any and all gold or silver found even on private property belongs to the State. Big time B.S.
Did you mean Leadmine or Coppermine? They were in Leadmine Brook. If you found gold in Coppermine brook, please let me know because I've always wondered if there was decent gold in that brook and I'd like to know whether or not my hunch was right.
Too fun! Glad you were able to spend that time with your daughter outdoors. I took the wife on a 25th wedding anniversary trip to Arkansas several weeks ago. Hit Crater of Diamonds, a local crystal mine, a bunch of sites in Hot Springs. Great time! Now back home in Michigan and trying to get outside to do some panning for the fine stuff! If/when you get the chance to get over here, the prime spot for treasure hunting is the Upper Peninsula. You would be amazed at the entire Northern section of the upper peninsula from Copper Harbor (aptly named) to Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls. Petoskey stones, puddin stones, copper, and flour gold on the beaches of Lake Superior. Hit me up if you can schedule a trip to the U.P. in the late summer, early fall! BTW - you need to get a still shot of the gold in that pan - all we saw was green....
I’d love to find out what road this is off of, it would be interesting to check this spot out seeing that it can’t be more than 15 minutes away from home.
Awesome little trip to that river with your daughter...It's cool she wants to learn how to pan and get in on that action...Garnets are always nice...they were hard to see from this end though...larger ones are harder to find so nice score there, most of the ones I find aren't very big...Can't wait for your next video...Have a good one 👍
Wish I found your channel a months ago! I live directly between 47th street and Harwinton in an 1810 farmhouse with a rubble stone foundation. We’ve detected the area with a very cheap radio shack detector and found horse shoes and a pistol handle. Would have loved to host you for a search!

Heyy thanks for this video of my homeland. My lady and I are hitting (at this point) random streams in NW CT for that extra fine gold. This video has been inspirational to us. Stay well! P. S. CT is great for historic metal detecting and garnet hunting. Lmk if you want some info!
I've just recently started prospecting in CT also. Have you had decent luck anywhere? I'm not asking you to burn your spot or anything, just curious what you've been finding.
I just read about this place. Im like 30 minutes away. THinking about going to pan some gold here soon! I could spend months doing this. Never tried yet, but want to do it so bad.

Stumbled across your channel and now I am watching about my home state. I grew up around there and you didn't have a long drive to get to Mass. There were some really awesome geode spots a little south of you. They have Apophyllite & Prehnite in them if I looked it up correctly. I have a really big one I got from an electrical job I did. Yes you must always do your research before digging/prospecting. Some states don't allow it, some are much less strict. Always check with BLM to make sure there's no active claims, and of course that you're not on private land.
there is a large old copper mine (the mine is filled in but there is still tons of copper there)up here in Vermont that has a lot of quartz in it as well so if you think you might gets a video out of that some how let me know

That massive lump of gold, that gave u the coordinates for would make a good video...cause if u don't go there, I will be going myself next year. So let me know if u go there. Chris. Ps I'm still 100%
Hi you've probably forgot, I sent u coordinates in the Sierra nevada, 5000ft up a mountain, which there is a massive lump of gold that can be seen from Google earth, I'm from england, and have been there on my own and got 200ft away, and didn't get to see what it actually was,,, remember... I hope u actually looked at the coordinates.. Cause I am deadly serious.. As I said before u seem very trusting..
For Washington state, you should look up the little town of liberty. There is a man in that town with a UA-cam channel named Rob Repin, that is also his UA-cam channel as well. He hasn't uploaded in a long time. But you would probably like his video "the patato patch".

No physical plans yet but yes it's on the list of 50 states!

AWESOME VIDEO! Thank you for sharing! I did not see Florida in places you have been, Are you planning on coming to Florida? If so when do you think that might be? Would love to meet you in person, For the record I live in Middleburg Florida, that is North East Florida, 20 minutes South of Jacksonville. I'll be looking for your next video my friend.

Just found your channel and wish I had known of you sooner especially before this video I live in Harwinton CT would have been cool to meet you plus I could have shown you some of the local area.
WonkyBomb harwinton represent! 😂😂
Beautiful stream. It sure looked cold.
Cold and awesome equally. Thanks for watching!
That massive lump of gold, that gave u the coordinates for would make a good video...cause if u don't go there, I will be going myself next year. So let me know if u go there. Chris. Ps I'm still 100%
What
Hi you've probably forgot, I sent u coordinates in the Sierra nevada, 5000ft up a mountain, which there is a massive lump of gold that can be seen from Google earth, I'm from england, and have been there on my own and got 200ft away, and didn't get to see what it actually was,,, remember...
Watched the potato patch video and yeah that area is loaded with gold.
@@Klesh yes it is. It is a great little getaway area in the mountains. Still has some public spots to pan, they have crazy looking wire gold in this area as well.
Paul Joseph Watson was up next on my notification list but I skipped him to watch a new KleshGuitars video. The garnets at Alabama Gold Camp are way bigger than those and lots of them to, gold is bigger also and more of it. ----).. Keep Digging My Friend
Thanks!
you should come down to Saskatchewan and look on one of our many reserves because there is lots of old stuff i find when im not even looking [probably some gold too
I'd be cool with just looking around for old relics and things, who cares about the gold. Thanks if you have any more info email me !
Nice work mate 👊🏻🤠👍🏻
Thank you TAS D!
Where were you at exactly? I live right next to Harwinton and went with the family today to pan for the first time!
I think it was on leadmine brook and swimming hole road
@@Klesh Ohhh! I was just past leadmine at a different spot. Gonna have to take another trip soon haha. Thanks man! Great video!
