The guy sleeps perfectly, eats perfectly, supplements perfectly and works out super hard. Come on now. In his time since marky mark until Pain and Gain that's like 20-25 pounds of muscle gained along with some fat and glycogen but at least 20 pounds of pure muscle. 20 pounds of muscle in over 10 years is completely attainable naturally, with average genetics you would gain more at that.
@@Vegeta68041 totally agree with your comment. I don't see any great leaps from Marky Marks days either. It's hard to say but I tend to agree with you. For me, personally, at 31 with a mediocre/poor diet and a 3/4 day a week lift routine, I am able to maintain decent shape and even make gradual strength and size gains (quarantine has killed me though lol). While the hundreds of millions of dollars that are on the table may be more than enough incentive to get on gear for some of these people, I consider what I would be able to accomplish with not only a strict diet and a rigorous almost religious exercise regimen, under round the clock supervision and care of professionals in the top of their field tailoring every aspect of my routine to garner the absolute optimum results. I personally am terrified of juice and would never be able to get on it, and I have to imagine I'm not alone in that fear and wonder if some of these seemingly impossible natural hollywood transformations are in fact, just the result of hard, dedicated work while being surrounded by a dedicated team (But maybe that's just the little kid in me wanting to believe in Santa Clause HA!)
Hello. I am 41 and very overweight. I have been doing some youtube research on how to get in shape to feel better and have more energy. I know very little about gear and am not interested in that for myself, but I did have a question. Is this body type something that is not possible to attain without the extra help? Thanks in advance. I am just trying to figure out what is reasonable for myself. I want to set realistic goals. (My biggest goal is to be able to do a pull up. I have never done one in my life.)
MrKratosin dont thank me im guessing, im natty but he doesnt look watery and puffy like he takes tren he has had death face for ever, wait for Derrick to give u info.
Out of curiosity because I find this stuff very interesting... Can you make a video where you talk about and explain all the different types of gear? That would be sweet
A good comparison is his brother, another actor (Band of Brothers, Blue Bloods, etc) who is only 2 years older. With obviously super similar DNA, but 2 different lifestyles, you can see what the difference is. One has the "dad bod" sorta look. One... does not.
Kinda outta the park on Mark, but with the whole “40lbs of muscle” in 7 weeks statement, what do you think about the Casey Viator nautilus experiment (The Colorado Experiment). I’d love to see a video on your thought of how it could’ve happened and what gear and shit woulda been used
Ive got almost the exact same physique as MM. I fluctuate between 75-87 kg and find it easy to stay lean. His muscle memory wouldve def helped him to put on 20pounds super quick especially if he lost 20 pounds then imediately smashed the gym and food. I lost12kg in 11 days with an MRSA infection in hospital then gained it back super fast when i got out of hospital. All my friends think i juice, not because of size, but how fast i bounce back with low nody fat after a long lay off. I must just have insane Satelite cells. Truth.
Do people not understand what working out moderately for 30 years straight will do to your body? I'm all natural amd just started working out and have changed my entire body in 2 years, couldn't imagine 30 years of doing this
Great video. In your videos discussing Hollywood actors getting in shape for movie roles, you often mention how their "Bro Diet" is not ideal. Can you point to some good diets that would be better?
When you said you’re not sure if these girls think he’s super cringy or cool I dropped my dumbbell while doing pullovers in my garage lol so funny I think they probably thought he was cool back then lol
I'm also 48 and 5'6. except for the 40lb in 7 weeks thing, the rest is totally possible. He's maybe got 10-15lbs on me, and slightly better abs. But i dont eat as clean as him, and only workout for months at a time cause of work. I wish you had his lifts to compare this would totally give me a better idea. If i could even get in 1 full year training without construction jobs, I think we look the same.
I remember Boogie Nights and he said in an interview that he lost 25 lbs of muscle for the role. You can clearly see a drastic change from Fear to Boogie Nights
These videos are great. I'm interested in setting some on iconic athletes too. Barry Bonds especially...I also firmly believe Tiger Woods juiced for years (PGA doesn't drug test if I recall correctly)...keep churning these out Derek. Great stuff!
I have pretty similar genetics, I look like him when he was younger, hehe. I also have the ability to change my physique dramatically in 12-16 weeks if I want to. It really is down to genetics. I'm pretty sure he doesn't need much gear to achieve a physique most people dream of, especially when you see how dedicated he is.
There's nothing special about his physique and the fact that he gained mostly 40lb of fat for a movie. He was 5ft 7in @ 135lb during his early 20's. That's about the same size as your typical Kenyan Marathoner.
Just to comment on your "I am not sure how prominent editing was back then" with the KK ads.... it has always been prominent. HOW it was done was different, but it was done. Ansel Adams used to spend hours to whole days editing his photography. But yes, editing has been standard for porn, advertising, etc. Plus lighting and angles, as well as what LENS to use has also been well known for ages. Cheers.

It's funny how people magically think because someone looks the way they do it's steroids. He's rich. Poor people use steroids. Rich celebrities can actually afford the training and nutrition experts to get body transformations the way they do. They have the time and money to train to change quickly. Especially if it's for a movie.
He always looked good and we are the same age. If you are old enough to remember the 80's, working out was very popular just like it is now. All you millennials weren't around then.
At 5'8" , there is absolutely no way Wahlberg was 212 lbs in the video.
That much weight at his height would make him look thick, and massive.
Facts
Yep. That's more than Franco Columbo basically close size. But Franco was huge at that size
Great video and commentary on point
The roller coaster of size and leanness as well as the far different looks that he exhibits I think is a red flag as well.
This one was needed
Great video as always ❤ , can you do a video about test cycles for people who are sensitive to estrogen
I have never done one in my life.)
terry crews Steroid Cycle i whaiting hehehe

Can you do a video on James Mcavoy in Split/Glass?
Yeah, that's a really intriguing topic. I can't help but think effects were also employed, but it would be a fascinating exploration.
Out of curiosity because I find this stuff very interesting... Can you make a video where you talk about and explain all the different types of gear? That would be sweet
Great video always some quality analysis
Wish more people would come out about their juice use. Shit can save a man's life and mental health. Great video. You got yourself a new sub.
A good comparison is his brother, another actor (Band of Brothers, Blue Bloods, etc) who is only 2 years older. With obviously super similar DNA, but 2 different lifestyles, you can see what the difference is. One has the "dad bod" sorta look. One... does not.
Been waiting a long time for this one. Thanks Derek!
New to the channel, what is gear?
Kinda outta the park on Mark, but with the whole “40lbs of muscle” in 7 weeks statement, what do you think about the Casey Viator nautilus experiment (The Colorado Experiment). I’d love to see a video on your thought of how it could’ve happened and what gear and shit woulda been used
You should do Jake Gyllenhaal next
Hey man just recently discovered the channel and it’s inspired me to care more about fitness and my appearance so thanks
Quality video man!
Love his work ethic the is always in shape 💪🏾
Ive got almost the exact same physique as MM. I fluctuate between 75-87 kg and find it easy to stay lean. His muscle memory wouldve def helped him to put on 20pounds super quick especially if he lost 20 pounds then imediately smashed the gym and food. I lost12kg in 11 days with an MRSA infection in hospital then gained it back super fast when i got out of hospital. All my friends think i juice, not because of size, but how fast i bounce back with low nody fat after a long lay off. I must just have insane Satelite cells. Truth.
Negged
@@ShinzoUchihaX wtf is negged? He got Matt D Fitness wrong, so what do you say about that?
Egged
Truth? Doubt it
Do people not understand what working out moderately for 30 years straight will do to your body? I'm all natural amd just started working out and have changed my entire body in 2 years, couldn't imagine 30 years of doing this
Derek doesn’t understand that because he’s got terrible genetics and had to juice at an early age to get results
Lol at that medical form listing his height at 5'10". Mark is 5'7"-5'8" tops.
5’10” means 5’8” just like 6’ means 5’10”
@@scoliosis9478 i am 6ft does that make me 6'2

lol... 7:30 i was gettin rdy to start being sick; but wtf? no no chicken breast & brocolli and 5 hour workout sessions.
Butcher Nails ha, I wrote the same thing, finally an actor admitted to a reasonable and sustainable amount of time in the gym and diet
I was in Mark's generation. I had no idea he was so into bodybuilding. Very interesting. Shows how what a renaissance he is.
Great video. In your videos discussing Hollywood actors getting in shape for movie roles, you often mention how their "Bro Diet" is not ideal. Can you point to some good diets that would be better?
I can't stand actors. Just because he put on 52lbs doesn't mean he actually GAINED 52lbs of lean mass.
He’s full natty...just like Mike o’Hearn.
@Tender Agression🤦🏼♂️
When you said you’re not sure if these girls think he’s super cringy or cool I dropped my dumbbell while doing pullovers in my garage lol so funny I think they probably thought he was cool back then lol
A Dempsey fashion changes, injectable testosterone compounds haven't (much) 😉
They probably thought wigga Mark was pretty fly
Girls love that fake act shit more than the real
I'm also 48 and 5'6. except for the 40lb in 7 weeks thing, the rest is totally possible. He's maybe got 10-15lbs on me, and slightly better abs. But i dont eat as clean as him, and only workout for months at a time cause of work. I wish you had his lifts to compare this would totally give me a better idea. If i could even get in 1 full year training without construction jobs, I think we look the same.
I've been binging your videos lately and it's absolutely fucked all of my targeted ads haha
LMAO I just stubbled upon those old Marky Mark workout videos bout a week ago... are you watching me?? XD POW!!!
I enjoyed that, I don’t judge anyone on what they do. I’m in my late 50s onto Sarms. Total game changer for me.
I want to see one on Triple H ( Paul Levesque). Especially the one in 2002
Great content
Type in WFN investigation including Wahlberg, Roman reigns etc
I remember Boogie Nights and he said in an interview that he lost 25 lbs of muscle for the role. You can clearly see a drastic change from Fear to Boogie Nights
He was the man in" fear"
I have Mark's fitness video.
Unfortunately its on VHS.
Excellent workout video.
How do you get them boulders for shoulders man??, I’d like to pick some up just can’t find them on the shelf anywhere, damn corona 😒
So we gonna just ignore Marks gyno at 18:03?
These videos are great. I'm interested in setting some on iconic athletes too. Barry Bonds especially...I also firmly believe Tiger Woods juiced for years (PGA doesn't drug test if I recall correctly)...keep churning these out Derek. Great stuff!
when are Gorilla Mode products coming to Canada?
Be happy Ben lol
Awesome upload.
That's about the same size as
your typical Kenyan Marathoner.
Where the hell does everyone get roids from
Steve lmao
From the biggest dude in your local gym, or online.
Bradly Martin
Hemorrhoids, you don't want them....
Where the hell does everyone get crack coccaine?
Just to comment on your "I am not sure how prominent editing was back then" with the KK ads.... it has always been prominent. HOW it was done was different, but it was done. Ansel Adams used to spend hours to whole days editing his photography. But yes, editing has been standard for porn, advertising, etc. Plus lighting and angles, as well as what LENS to use has also been well known for ages. Cheers.
nice vid broski
Dude, you’re cool. I’m in my forties now & have both found myself admiring your work & being happy with the way the info you share may potentially be so useful for all of our health “approach”. I respect the way you grow as you go & share your slips along the way. This gentleman, Mark, is another example of how a person could be consistent, successful, healthy & you show mad respect for that. You also show much respect for the lifestyle as a whole, big up. Thaks again.
Dear diary
I don't know if he was on roids or not in Pain&Gain. What i can say is that his physique in that movie is realistic for a natural.
I have zero rebuttal for this video. You perfectly articulated his whole career. I agreed with everything you said. Good job mate.
I've been waiting a long time for this.
I remember watching this thinking “HOLY SHIT MARK IS HUGE!!!” Now I’m his size and I’m like “DAMNIT IM SMALL!!!”😂😂
Know this feeling, it’s the catalyst for progression bro 💪🏻
Finally an actor admits to a reasonable diet and amount of time he spends in the gym
In the 90s he was kick out of Gold’s Gym In Braintree, MA for the sale of steroids. This was before he made it big. His brother was already famous as a member in the New Kids in the Block.
i just want to tell derick thank you, i was this close to gettig black market gear until i took your advise and got my labs done, and my levels were low enough that my doctor got me on some androgell and that shits made a world of difference in many aspects of my life.
Your audience is like full of geniuses compared to David Laid’s
He didnt gain 40 pounds of muscle, its water fat muscle
No he's not on roids. I believe he looked his best when his weight was around 150 pounds at 5'7 looks natural to me. looks good and very obtainable.
He's from Dorchester Massachusetts , how he talks is how he talks, we masterd slang from the days of British rule.
It's funny how people magically think because someone looks the way they do it's steroids. He's rich. Poor people use steroids. Rich celebrities can actually afford the training and nutrition experts to get body transformations the way they do. They have the time and money to train to change quickly. Especially if it's for a movie.
He was really buff in Pain & Gain
@s d i always thought he did a dirty bulk for pain and gain
He always looked good and we are the same age. If you are old enough to remember the 80's, working out was very popular just like it is now. All you millennials weren't around then. You dont know that working out has been popular long before you were ever born.
When I was in high school in the 80's everyone was an exercise instructor after school. He come from Dorchester which is the hood for you guys that aren't familiar with the Boston area.
I generally agree with you, but being in my mid 40s I did a show and wasn’t enhanced so in my experience you can do it especially if your diet is dialed. So having a better diet he could’ve have gained that size.
Congratulations on 100k subs! Would love to see a video about Dave Bautista's steroid cycle from WWE to his movie career
