From what I've seen they've been with Napalm their whole career and have had other offers, and didn't want people to think that had anything to do with it, because they're clearly an awesome band.

Thank you for reacting to VoA! Been a long time fan of them ever since they opened for Epica's first US tour back in 2007. It's great to see they are finally gaining more traction and new fans, especially since they are touring with Dragonforce and getting more exposure!🤘🤘
Been a *huge* fan of Visions of Atlantis for a long time, Eternal, Endless Infinity to Ethera. The last few albums have been... um... Well, _they're dressed like pirates._
I had recently saw them live in Baltimore, MD supporting Dragonforce's tour and I really enjoyed their sound. I got a picture with all the members of the band except for Clementine after they signed the vinyl I bought. They played both of the new songs from their upcoming album; this song and Legion of the Seas.
DUDE! Your channel is the best! Everybody's favorite Swedish band brought me to your channel, and since then I have discovered so many new epic bands / groups (list it so big to mention all of them) !! This is going to be one for the days I feel a little blue, like this sounds a lot. Keep doing what you doing man! \m/ (>.
Vision Of Atlantis, Intersting choice glad you checking them out. I like the band. they have some great songs. they been around for a long time but never really blown up, till Clementine Delauney (and their current line up in general) joined the band. Clementine joining really changed their fortune, because before joining the band through the 2010s she was slowly gaining popularity in European metal scene with Serenity (Austrian Band signed with Napalm) and her collaboration with Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray, Helloween) in his 2016 Hansen and Friends project and specially Exit Eden (Napalm Records project/band with 4 female singers, all of Exit Eden offical music videos on Napalm Records channel have great viewership with views ranging between 1.5 to 4 or 5 million). She brought new eyes to the band, so their 2018 album (first with Clementine) was beginning of a new era for the band with all of their new members really click together. I actually find the band the same way because of Clementine, then gone back and listened to their older stuff there are great song in their older stuff too and some great musians in their ever changing line up. But In my opinion their current line up is their best iteration of the band. (Clementine is one of my favorite singers so I might be biased) P.s: sorry for the long comment 😅
Completely agree with you on the line-up and especially on Clementine, but I also think that you need to mention male vocalist Michele Guaoli here, because those two harmonise perfectly, which was not as much the case with Sigfried Samer, the vocalist on the Dark & the Deep.
@@Eluarelon thanks for mentioning, you are completely right. when I was writing the comment I completely blank out on his name (I just remembered that he was in Temperance) and the comment was getting long so I just had passingly mentioned the new line up which in my mind very much included Michele and his big contribution.
@@maxter156 Nicole already left in 2005 afaik and Clementine just joined in 2013 (like Floor with Nightwish). I don't really know however who their Anette was, lol I remember i once heared a bit from them in the early 2000 but at that time it didn't catched me as much as Nightwish, Within Temptation and Edenbrige, but since Clementine joined them i have really started to like them a lot.
between Nicole and Clementine the band had 3 other female singers, Nicole Bogner who was the original female singer was in the band for the first 2 album and left in 2005 (unfortunately as mentioned she passed away in 2012), between 2005 and 2007 Melissa Ferlaak (who work with many other band like Therion and Echoterra) was the singer, she was with the band for the third album (released in 2007), in 2009 Joanna Nieniewska (she also work with a band Illuminata for few years) joined the band for brief period, although she was official member of the band she only performed with them in 2009 and left the same year and wasn't feature in any albums. After that Maxi Nil joined the band in 2009 and was their female singer in the next 2 album, she left the band in 2013, which was the year Clementine Delauney joined the band from the fellow Austrian band Serenity and although she joined in 2013 the band wasn't really active till 2018 which was the year their first album with Clementine came out which was their sixth overall. (I think in that 5 years before the album they only released one new single and were focused on occasional touring). Fun fact about Serenity to this day Clementine is the the only official female vocalist in the band history, they toured with many female singers as backing vocals and occasional lead (like Melissa Bonny who joined their tour after Clementine left) but none of the other female singers were official members of the band. Clementine was touring with them as backing vocal and the band was impressed by her so she officially joined the band as their female singer. She is the reason the band have some songs with female lead vocals. Although Clementine was underutilized in the band mainly because the band style of power metal really didn't need a full time female vocalist. (That's one of main reason she left the band for VoA, she still have great relationship with Serenity band memebers)
Saw them touring with Dragonforce this year, and they put on a really good show, too! First I'd ever heard of them, but I really enjoyed seeing them...also their merch was pretty cool.
Good reaction Tank, glad you like them. I only come across them a couple of months back myself, but I have oredered their new album so I'm eagerly looking forward to mid May. Hope you do more of this band.
Clemi is a phenomenal singer. I would love to see Clemi team up with Fabi Kirschke or maybe Patty Gurdy and do a song about Mary Read and Anne Bonny. Yeah, the pirate theme doesn't saturate their music, but it does give it some much-needed direction compared to their earlier work. Some of their songs definitely have more of a pirate sound, like "Armada," "Legion of the Seas," and "Master the Hurricane." (And given our current situation in FL, that last hits a bit different).
Clémentine Delauney, the female vocalist, was in a supergroup called Exit Eden that also featured Amanda Somerville (Avantasia, also married to Sander Gommans from After Forever), Marina La Torraca (Phantom Elite) and Anna Brunner. Their album Rhapsodies in Black, though a cover album, is definitely worth checking out if you want to hear some heavy yet operatic covers of songs like Paparazzi by Lady Gaga, Unfaithful by Rihanna, or Incomplete by The Backstreet Boys.
Amazing Band, I love their album. Love all 4 vocalist. The band was the first time I heard Marina and Anna (Marina's band Phantom Elite is also a great band highly recommend them, it's a real shame Anna doesn't work with any band as main vocalist she is really talented). Outside the ladies, the other members of the band are really great, you don't really expect that kinda playing from the band with 4 singers, given that the ladies were the main focus but all of the members are amazing. Really hoping for second album.
@@niel9612 I completely agree, most songs in the album are miles better than their original imo. The few exceptions in the album that aren't better than original version are at least on par with them or are very close to their quality (the full album is still in my daily Playlist, it is one of my favorite albums of the last few years)
Oh man.. Tank, you've had influence on me 😆Last weekend, Finntroll & Insomnium live.. I found myself comparing headstocks and trying to remember if I'd seen the particular instrument on your videos before. Not that I complain mind you, I had a blast 🤘
VoA was the first show I was going to see that was canceled due to the pandemic. To support them, I still bought one of the shirts from the canceled show. They made them available online.
I love VoA so much 💙 I legit just saw them last night in Mesa, Arizona 🏜 they were one of the last concerts I attended right before the lockdowns started in 2020. Ever since Trinity (2007) I've been a fan 💙💙💙💙💙
back in their early years, people always somehow compares them with Nightwish since back then Nightwish were the 1st band combining operatic voice with gothic metal with some influences from power metal... remember at that time there were no so-called Symphonic Metal genre as a genre...it was more like a combination of different type of musical style into a most common metal genre, like in their case, gothic metal.
I envy you discovering these bands man, I wish I could discover them all over again. Nothing beats the first time listen to a new artists back catalog. You should check out what the female lead did with the supergroup Exit Eden next.
I agree, when I first heard the song I want blown away, but that damn chorus just kept going back into my brain. Sometimes all you need is a well crafted song with a great hook.
Saw these guys live opening for Unleash the Archers right before the pandemic hit. It was pre-pirate, and they under-impressed me. I want to like this band because I do enjoy a lot of symphonic metal, but I can't quite place what the missing ingredient is with them. In any case, thanks for the reaction Tank!
The female singer, Clementine Delauney, was also in the group Serenity for one album back in 2013/2014. I'm not sure what she did before then, but her filling in the voice role for VoA is an awesome choice. I'd definitely recommend "Legion of the Seas" from this same album. It's much more of a banger and encapsulates their sound more. The male singer is Michele Guaitoli and is also in the band Temperance, who are a power metal group from Italy. If you want to check them out, I'd recommend their songs "Diamanti" and "Pure Life Unfolds" from their recent album, Diamanti.
I've been a VoA fan for about 10 years now. It's not as symphonic as Nightwish or Epica, but they have a sound I've always enjoyed. I really enjoy the sound of their female lead, Clémentine Delauney, and she's one of the main reasons I got into the band as much as I have. I didn't mind their earlier singers but she really hooked me. Obviously the current male singer has a very good voice also.
@@hermavankeulen9728 No, I didn't need him to introduce me to the band, but I figured I'd share my experience with him about the previous incarnations of the band since he's going to look deeper into them. The past versions and the current versions do have some major differences, the major one being the lead singers.
It's Always surprising what gems are hiding in the depths of the world....for years! Thank you Tank for introducing them. They will find their way on another Pirate's Playlist. ☠️😁 And you know it, it's always a pleasure seeing you analysing Gear....😜👍
I think this is your earliest "Error/Correction" haha. I don't know if this is my first time listening to them or if I've heard them before. Her voice reminds me at times of Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation (if you are going to listen to them, I will say their sound has changed to more of an industrial metal style (Their first album "Enter" does have some growls, but none after that until "Hydra") now compared to their earlier style which was more like Nightwish and Visions). Yeah, I like this, I'll have to listen to more of their stuff to see if it grabs me to make me really like it. We are here to drink your beer! .....
Visions Of Atlantis are very underrated. Regretfully I had to back out of seeing them during this USA tour and I was unable to see them last time when their 2020 tour with Unleash The Archers and Dragonforce got cut short due to covid. Thankfully I was still able to support them by buying a shirt to help them crowdfund their way home. They deserve more attention and I hope their current USA tour has been successful for them!
@@jasperallen8479 Nice! I had debated going to either the SF or LA show, but my work schedule and lack of ability to get a group together for the trip made it impossible at the time, but I did get to catch Unleash the Archers during that tour because they did a small one off show in my hometown of Fresno between those two dates. That ended up being my last concert so far.
They are about to finish their US tour. I had a chance to do a meet and greet and private acoustic session with them and it was awesome. Definitely want this lineup to continue for a long long time. I would really like a reaction to Legion of the Seas if possible, to me it is more catchy that this one.
I had one of their albums back a dozen years or so ago and liked it well enough, but for some reason they fell off my radar. To be honest, I’d forgotten all about them until you posted this. Nice to revisit them…much more catchy and hooky than I remember, and really good. Thanks for reminding me of them…going to go back and get caught up.
excellent, glad you got around to VoA :) My suggestion for the "old style" (this new album seems to be a bit of a change) would be Heroes of the Dawn, that video really matches up visuals and sound beautifully. That, or one of the live performances from their recent release, probably Release my Symphony.
If you want to give them another try, I'd really recommend "Legion of the Seas". It's from the same upcoming album. It matches the album theme a lot more and feels a bit more "dynamic" in a sense. Despite this being a good song, I like that one a bit more.
@@TankTheTech Legions of the Seas is a great song, so if you like this, you'll probably like LOTS. You should also check them out live, they are high energy, and very engaging. This song in particular, Clementine Delauncy hits the high notes of the chorus while jumping up and down!
It took me listening to this song 4 times to really get hooked, I can't not draw the similarity to Nightwish and even to Amaranthe with how the utilize the male singers vocals, which isn't a bad thing at all. Where I really get hooked is the stripped down part where they go 'hopeless I'm drowning, helpless I'm trying'. Totally a less is more moment for me
I know I already wrote here and this video is from months ago, but I just thought to mention they will be here in the US touring small venues in feb/march...so would be cool if people went out for support if you like them. :)
This is literally Nightwish in the olden days (no Tarja's unique sound but the music). So good. Better than modern Nightwish (not a fan of the new style they've been having).
Really enjoyed the song and your comments. I found these guys through a long complicated chain. I had stumbled across a cover of Nightwish's Sleeping Sun by Elina Siirala who is Tuomas Holopainen's second cousin. It was just gorgeous and in the title to the video they mentioned she was the new singer of Leaves Eyes so I started checking them out and found the music video for Black Butterfly (another gorgeous song) where she and Clementine perform a duet. That lead me to Vision's of Atlantis. I love Clementine's voice and Legion of the Seas is quite good. Still need to check her out in Exit Eden.
I got into this band back when they had just released their 3rd album, and yes, as the name suggests, they've always had kind of a Oceanic/Maritime theme to their songs and identity. But I dropped following them after that because Symphonic Metal wasn't my cup of tea back then. It's changed since then as rediscovering Nightwish thru reaction channels has opened me back up to the Symphonic Metal sound, so, I might look into getting back into them. I gotta find my original 3 CDs first though. 😄
Saw these guys live for the first time in May, and they really stole the show. Their energy got me roped into their studio music, and being right before this new album dropped, the hype was strong. After hearing most of their previous records, I can safely say that this album is a landmark. They’ve finally found their true groove as a band and I’m stoked to see where they go The closing track, I Will Be Gone, is also a really big, cinematic banger (featuring bagpipes)
Awesome reaction Tank. The comments here are great so not much I can say that hasn’t already been said, but yeah Visions Of Atlantis are amazing, especially since Clementine joined the band. Their current dynamic really works well and the songs from “Pirates” are some of the best I’ve heard from them. Also Tank, you absolutely have to check out the new song from Wind Rose called Together We Rise, you won’t be disappointed. Plus, isn’t it time for another Orden Ogan reaction mate. 🙂🤘🏻
Hooray Tank reacts to VoA! Their male vocalist Michele Guaitoli, also sings for another small band based in Italy called Temperance. I guess you'd call 'em a melodic power metal band with 3 vocalists. Lota fun to listen to also. Maybe not new enough for a reaction, but definitely worth a listen.
and the other male vocalist of Temperance is also in a band called Fallen Sanctuary with Georg from Serenity, Clementine's former band... and in Light & Shade which featured Adrienne Cowan from Seven Spires on vocals. All bands you should check out Tank ;)
and Temperance's former female vocalist Chiara is now in a band called Moonlight Haze and is currently touring with Sasha Paeth's Masters of Ceremony, which also featured Adrienne on vocals on the album (but she's touring with 7S), I love how connected all of this is. (Sasha Paeth produced a bunch of bands like Kamelot and Avantasia (which he also plays guitar for the latter))
and circling back to Serenity, after Clemi left they toured with a little known female guest vocalist called Melissa Bonny, you might have heard of her
I just missed the premiere. Love this band to bits and my pre-order is already in. Glad you liked them. The new album seems much heavier than their older stuff, might be because they used a different sound engineer on this one, but so far I love what I'm hearing. Oh and Herman Li is streaming all the live shows from this tour so you can see them live from your home this week
VOA are amazing band. Sure they're very similar to within temptation or nightwish but their attention to concepts and range makes then stand out in all the best ways
I’ve heard Visions of Atlantis occasionally, mostly for Clementine, they just don’t quite draw me all the way in for some reason. She was also a guest vocalist on a fairly recent Leaves Eyes song. (I meant to join you live for this one, but I couldn’t stay awake today)
For twenty years or so I have been listening to Nightwish, Nightwish, Nightwish and Nightwish again. Some tre to four years ago i started up width Spotyfi, and bang the number of groups increased to some 100 from lots of different countrys. On top of this list do i find reactionvideos from you, over and over again. This group is also one of them, not on my top 50 yet, but this was realy great. The singing is great and the male singer surprised me, sound a little like Yannis in Beast in Black, and he realy rased this song some levels. Now its just to wait for you to react to next release for the Italian band Volturian. Their first album, Crimson, was loved by me and "The Killing Joke" is my favorite. " Harley" first release from album no. 2 is not on the same level as the songs on their first album.
Tank, 1st time I saw Deep and The Dark I'm sure that's the face I had. Clemi is amazing. In the video for Journey to Remember, she does a power stance on a cliff for real. #1 Girl crush Clémentine Delauney she's humble as they come. Poor sweetheart hit her head the other night on tour apparently same place so did Alicia Vigil. Ouchies.
They are really an underrated band, begin listening to them because of Clementine and that led to checking up their older stuff; before Clementine they weren't really consistent but there are real gems there.
Their past stuff was a mixed bag for me but if this is what we're going to get going forward I'll definitely give them another shot. Another great reaction!
Clementine was how I found out about VoA, she was previously in Serenity (Austrian Symphonic metal band that you should definitely check out if you haven't already) and I actually got to meet them as well on the current USA tour with Dragonforce. Absolutely great musicians, and really awesome people. Definitely check out Legion of the Seas, that's a good song to headbang and nod to
Finally :) Austria is such a small country and not really famous for their music (besides Mozart, Falco and OPUS) so I appreciate some probs for my country :) great choice, imho they are as close to Nightwish as you can get :)
Visions of Atlantis (the undersea kingdom) have always been inspired by legends of the seas, Atlantis, mermaids, krakens ... so pirates are following the theme of the seas
Other songs from them you should listen to are A journey to remember, Release my symphony and a quiter one - winternight (in memory to their former singer who died way too early...)
Hey Tank, at first thank's for all your reactions! We are allways curious about your new clips. We saw VoA a few times.( Metalfest Pilzen, aso). Do you know the german Power Metal Band "Serious Black "with her new album Vengeance Is Mine? Greetings Tom and Lisa
Don't worry, I am from Austria and even I didn't know where they're from 😂 If you wanna check out more Austrian bands, I can recommend Harakiri for the Sky.
You got a one second taste of Legion of the Seas (by VoA too), I would LOVE to see a reaction to that too, that song is better than this one! Keep up the good work, I haven't seen anyone else break down the stuff as much as you, and I love that
Hype for their new album. There's another austrian band that is very awesome, Edenbridge, both this and VOA came around at 2000s. You should check out Edenbridge too.

between Nicole and Clementine the band had 3 other female singers, Nicole Bogner who was the original female singer was in the band for the first 2 album and left in 2005 (unfortunately as mentioned she passed away in 2012), between 2005 and 2007 Melissa Ferlaak (who work with many other band like Therion and Echoterra) was the singer, she was with the band for the third album (released in 2007), in 2009 Joanna Nieniewska (she also work with a band Illuminata for few years) joined the band for brief period, although she was official member of the band she only performed with them in 2009 and left the same year and wasn't feature in any albums.
Been listening to this band for a looooooooong time and always love their stuff. So glad to see you checking them out
My first thought is, I love this band, so far. I'll have to check out more songs.
Added to the playlist indeed!
@@m_nivon1652 In my opinion, most of Exit Eden's songs are better than the originals, the 4 of them really take the songs to another level.
@@niel9612 I completely agree, most songs in the album are miles better than their original imo. The few exceptions in the album that aren't better than original version are at least on par with them or are very close to their quality (the full album is still in my daily Playlist, it is one of my favorite albums of the last few years)
@@m_nivon1652 I am still a bit old school, I have the CD in my pick up.
What a positive surprise!!🤘🏻😃
Oh man.. Tank, you've had influence on me 😆Last weekend, Finntroll & Insomnium live.. I found myself comparing headstocks and trying to remember if I'd seen the particular instrument on your videos before. Not that I complain mind you, I had a blast 🤘
They are amazing! The two vocalists have powerful and beautiful vocals. React to more of their music.
Thanks, Tank. I'll look Visions of Atlantis up and give them a listen. Thanks for all you do to spread your love of music and the people producing it.
VoA was the first show I was going to see that was canceled due to the pandemic. To support them, I still bought one of the shirts from the canceled show. They made them available online.
Same I bought the shirt because I wanted to go to the Pittsburgh show.
nice one, added to my playlist.
Frantic Amber - Scorched Earth. This song is fire!🤘
Also "Return to Lemuria" is a super catchy Song and really an earworm!^^
I agree, when I first heard the song I want blown away, but that damn chorus just kept going back into my brain. Sometimes all you need is a well crafted song with a great hook.
I love these guys, the first time I heard about them was because of Clementine's work with Exit Eden back in 2017.
This is the first song that I’ve heard from them and I’m digging it.
Dus je had Tank eigenlijk niet nodig om de band te leren kennen 🤣
@@hermavankeulen9728 No, I didn't need him to introduce me to the band, but I figured I'd share my experience with him about the previous incarnations of the band since he's going to look deeper into them. The past versions and the current versions do have some major differences, the major one being the lead singers.
It's Always surprising what gems are hiding in the depths of the world....for years!
Thank you Tank for introducing them. They will find their way on another Pirate's Playlist. ☠️😁
And you know it, it's always a pleasure seeing you analysing Gear....😜👍
Happy to see you checking them out. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard from them so it’s nice to see them getting some more attention.
We are here to drink your beer! .....
i got to see visions of atlantis open on the recent dragonforce tour. they were really freaking good
I've heard that from a lot of people now!
Well, well that was interesting... i will definitely listen to some more of their music...
I was at the SF show just before the pandemic. It was a blast and loved all three band live which was awesome.
As an Austrian I didn´t even know Austria had a somewhat big metal band
But I guess it makes sense with Napalm Records also beeing Austrian
excellent, glad you got around to VoA :)
My suggestion for the "old style" (this new album seems to be a bit of a change) would be Heroes of the Dawn, that video really matches up visuals and sound beautifully. That, or one of the live performances from their recent release, probably Release my Symphony.
Pirate & Metal ☠️
If you want to give them another try, I'd really recommend "Legion of the Seas". It's from the same upcoming album. It matches the album theme a lot more and feels a bit more "dynamic" in a sense.
Despite this being a good song, I like that one a bit more.
I've heard a lot of people recommend that one. Thanks!
@@TankTheTech Legions of the Seas is a great song, so if you like this, you'll probably like LOTS. You should also check them out live, they are high energy, and very engaging. This song in particular, Clementine Delauncy hits the high notes of the chorus while jumping up and down!
Honestly, their previous album made my top 11 albums of that year. This song is ok but I'll check the one you mentioned
I actually love Wild Elysium. That one has a lot of emotion to it. I love the feel of that song.
Totally a less is more moment for me
excelente banda 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Clear Nightwish vibes. Not bad at all. Don't love it, but like it very much. Gotta see what else they have in their discography.
They have a couple live videos from the last couple of years that you'll enjoy
Damn I have listened to them before but I can't remember that operatic tone from her, I love it, really elevates the song.
they changed female singer 3 or 4 times so maybe it wasn't the same singer
I know I already wrote here and this video is from months ago, but I just thought to mention they will be here in the US touring small venues in feb/march...so would be cool if people went out for support if you like them. :)
Considering how much he loved Nightwish, this song makes perfect sense for a reaction
This is literally Nightwish in the olden days (no Tarja's unique sound but the music). So good. Better than modern Nightwish (not a fan of the new style they've been having).
I got the Nightwish vibes. too. I would love to hear more from them mainly to distinguish their sound from Nightwish.
Given me goosebumps right away. Sounds like Nightwish when Annette was singing 🤔. 🤘❤️🤘
I recently came across a band that I think you would really like, Seven Spires, especially their song "Gods of Debauchery".
They’ve finally found their true groove as a band and I’m stoked to see where they go
The closing track, I Will Be Gone, is also a really big, cinematic banger (featuring bagpipes)
(Sasha Paeth produced a bunch of bands like Kamelot and Avantasia (which he also plays guitar for the latter))
and circling back to Serenity, after Clemi left they toured with a little known female guest vocalist called Melissa Bonny, you might have heard of her
Just saw these guys with DragonForce, they were my favorite of the night
Best female/male duo since Floor and Marko...
Definitely check out Legion of the Seas, that's a good song to headbang and nod to
Finally :) Austria is such a small country and not really famous for their music (besides Mozart, Falco and OPUS) so I appreciate some probs for my country :) great choice, imho they are as close to Nightwish as you can get :)
haha can't agree more :)
not to forget E.A.V.
@@carligula78 He needs to react to E.A.V when he has a bit more experience in understanding German
Summoning
Awesome band. The frontwoman Clémentine Delauney is French and is amazing !
The male vocalist is also one of three vocalist in the band Temperance and I think you should check them out as I think they are much better.
Hey Tank,
at first thank's for all your reactions! We are allways curious about your new clips.
We saw VoA a few times.( Metalfest Pilzen, aso).
Do you know the german Power Metal Band "Serious Black "with her new album Vengeance Is Mine?
Greetings Tom and Lisa
Don't worry, I am from Austria and even I didn't know where they're from 😂
If you wanna check out more Austrian bands, I can recommend Harakiri for the Sky.
I recently heard about this guy's because they are on tour with Dragonforce
You got a one second taste of Legion of the Seas (by VoA too), I would LOVE to see a reaction to that too, that song is better than this one! Keep up the good work, I haven't seen anyone else break down the stuff as much as you, and I love that
Hype for their new album. There's another austrian band that is very awesome, Edenbridge, both this and VOA came around at 2000s. You should check out Edenbridge too.
