I flat out LOVE Lord John and he is my favourite character - no contest! Yay for David Berry playing him in this season, and I sooo hope he'll have the John Grey spinoff, especially since he's read and appreciated the books. So pleased he's in Outlander season 5, because it was a loong time between meetings with our dear Lord John in the books. His character emerged more fully in the last outlander book with a nod to the LJ books where he is referred to simply as 'Grey' in his viewpoint chapters (in those books the author keeps the prose simpler, crisp and more masculine for his character, less descriptive but more evocative), we meet his family and Percy from his past (the two of them...sigh, I don't completely distrust Percy) and he has more than his share of sad and funny misadventures. Every Outlander reader who likes Lord John Grey should read the LJ books!

His character and the way he played him with such humanity--he wins over Jamie (co-parents, in a way)--deserves its own show. He should find love as Lord John as he has in real life. Lots of us dig David Berry :)
