Would the automatic braking system cause issues during a pursuit? I feel like that could cause more problems than solutions, officers need to be manually in control of the car during those high intense driving situations.
You guys need to make a traverse ppv. The reason why fords interceptor utility sells better than the those is due to the fact it is cheaper, more efficient and not as bulky but not too small. The traverse with the v6 would do well as a police vehicle.
I've been thinking this for years, but I think General Motors is sitting on their asses simply because they offer the less-efficient and worse-handling body-on-frame Chevrolet Tahoe PPV. While the Tahoe PPV does have the stronghold on the full-size body-on-frame pursuit-rated market, they are losing significant ground in any of the larger unibody pursuit-rated offerings since GM currently offer NONE in either sedan or crossover form for the larger size classes. A Traverse PPV would at least on-paper give more agencies options for those looking for a larger vehicle that is a lighter and/or better handling pursuit-rated crossover over GM's hulking full-size pursuit-rated SUV.
Didn't need 8 minutes. Just give the basics: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
The only problem with this is they should have put the 6.2 in it these engines are known for there lifters I would be afraid to get one Chevy could of at least put a push button locker in this truck
Bring back a sedan for law enforcement. Believe me we all like the SUV and the trucks.. but a lot of officers want Sedans.. We miss the crown Vic lol. roomy interior, great mileage, persuit rated, AWD. It's all we cops ask lol.
@@joeljay8016 I drove one of the first "demo" Tahoes that GM had back about 10 years ago or so. Got it up to 132mph one night on an empty Interstate. Felt the same as doing about 110mph in a Crown Vic. My department only ended up getting 2 of the Tahoes and never ordered more. This Chevy Silverado PPV is interesting, but I'm excited to get a new F150 Responder in a couple of months.
If it has the same brakes as the Tahoe they will also be complete crap! 8 PPV Tahoes and all 8's brakes squeal all day everyday. (No recalls or updates) Completely wrecked a great squad!

so you can idle without it getting stolen but can't lock it while it idles so you don't get your guns stolen?!? right.... atleast with the 3rd party idle locks you can lock the door too with it running.

A vehicle like this would be perfect for regional park cops, park rangers, or fish and game wardens where their work often involves going offroad.
Make those rims optional on all vehicles!
Please put the 6.2 v8as an option ,5.3 v8 is lacking in a lot of areas
I would like to see a police truck ZR2 package
One of our local police departments has one, very nice
I have a 6.2 GMC. Has some punch

I think there's ways of configuring the system to department needs, to where it won't become a problem.
Let's hack it bro
You can shut it off in the menu on the screen. My truck has this and that’s what I did due to my particular line of work.
I believe these have a police-specific calibration that has reduced sensitivity compared to the civilian trucks

Especially with the 9 speed automatic. That v6 is a quick engine in the right gear.
Minus the center shift and aluminum wheels
They need a vehicle that will last. Who wants to drive a Travesty?

"Only pursuit rated pickup" So Ford coming out with the F150 responder a couple of years ago doesn't count?
It didn't say only pursuit rated pickup. It says first pursuit rated Silverado

Crown Vic wasn’t AWD it was rear wheel. The Taurus was the AWD one.
Only 355 hp for a truck that size? I hope it won't need to chase anything faster than a smart car.
Don't forget, it also has a 10-speed automatic. Pair that with the 5.3, and you got something that ain't exactly a slouch.
Dude I seem tahoe keep up with charger rt and 392 those 10 speed move trust me plus you got something faster above 🚁
