The dancers know the songs by heart. they know every accent, every note, every pause. it's like they are breathing it. thus they can play with it, and improvise the moves within the dance. i find this couple fascinating! Juana is almost perfect. flowy and graceful and everything a tango dancer and a WOMAN should be! loooove it!
I know it's hard to believe but its true. He's chicho. The best tango-nuevo dancer in the world and his improvisation skill is his most amazing talent. Check other videos of him and this music (like the one in Mantova 08): it's are totally different.

Such is the mysterious beauty of the the argentine tango: a performance like the one above is entirely improvised!-->The exception would b TV shows like dwts & sytycd that must b staged n advance, & certain stage tango performances that include complex lifts (or similar steps) that cannot b organically lead. But the truly fascinating aspect of the tango, is that once u study it, u discover there r few steps indeed which cannot b improvised on-the-spot (the creative possibilities are limitless)!

It is VERY hard to believe this is not a choreography. EVERY step matched the music perfectly. But. If you say so. I can't understand though why he is classified as a tango nuevo dancer. Most of these moves would not be all that out of place to traditional music. Borges y Paraguay is one of my favourites. I play it often.. WIsh he would stop staring at the floor though. But - that's Chicho!
Great Tango Nuevo dance by Chico and juana ! Their musicality and technical level is without a doubt fantastic and top class level. Wish i could do a dance with skills like that. (btw it would be my own dance not a copy of steps) But there are points for improvement aswel like having the eyecontact for eg. While they are dancing and doing it on the spot, we now have the opportunity to view x100 analyse and make an opinion on it. Will it change their dancing NO !!! Can u learn from it YES!!!
as a tango dancer i agree with tangopeter1 concerning the eyecontact thing... it would have added more sensuality to the dance and made it even more pleasant to watch

Personally nuevo is not my style, i love the elegant traditional Villa Urquiza style, but i respect every dancers style. We all dance how we feel comfortable most. And If Chico has said he regrets it like u mention, he has become an even greater maestro.
