Hi All. let me get this straight the Gov tells you what route you have to take to round the horn? Hmm? You are at sea when rounding the horn? No matter what you guys will have fun, catch a fish or some crabs for dinner?(I need to go out fishing and crabbing) Love you guys.
Hi David. Yes they do. The Navy in Chile is strict, but also fair and kind. They are great to interact with and we are glad they are part of the experience. Excellent mariners that care about safety at sea. It could be rounded w/o authorization before entering, but by Chile, wouldn't be official and they frown on it a bit.
Another great video experience, I really appreciate the little things like double screens for tacking and the view over the side plus everything else , really good.
Amazing couple doing amazing things. They always greet people with a friendly smile. They are also going to join a very elite club in the world. Thanks for taking everyone along.
Y’all are badass!!! Our kinda sailing couple 💯. Definitely just found our new favorite channel! Awesome footage. Thanks for the share and the inspiration!
I am always so impressed every week with Kate and how capable a sailor she is. ( though I am sure Curtis is graciously showing her off by making it look so easy, as anyone that is good at something always makes what one does look so easy) And also the great communication between Curtis and Kate while sailing and maneuvering through each tack or sail change. Yes. I am searching for my own Kate. This is my number one channel to watch every week for actual sailing.
Hi guys, its cool to watch Your channel! Just a little remark to what You said in the beginning. There was at least one sailing UA-cam channel who went around Cape Hoorn already, a russian vlogging travel family on a sailboat, with children even. But I think its a great accomplishment for everybody who does this. And interesting to watch because all are unique different experiences. Looking forward to Your next episode. Not going into the Pacific from there? All the best and always fair winds!
Check their location on their website. This is 3 months ago. They went back to Puerto William and then onwards. Out into the Pacific now and heading north already.
Hard to find other channels that have! I honestly said it in hopes of finding comments like this sharing others who have ventured off the beaten path. If you think of the channel name, please share 😀👍
Well done. video. I can sympathize with the radio timidity. Kate can calmly describe breaking seas 20 to 30 feet high and working on deck in a gale but is not comfortable on the VHF. Glad you stepped up and did it. I have used VHF and sideband at sea for 50 years, argued route instructions with the Coast Guard, taken weather reports from freighters, routed rescue to a sinking vessel, and hosted the cruisers net in more than one harbor. Yet I, too, am not yet entirely comfortable on the radio.
Been at sea for two weeks now, but haven't moved one inch. Actually the rig i'm on does move a little, just not much.😆😆 Will be racing in the J class regatta in Palma in June... If I can get off work. Thank goodness for UA-cam/ Sweet Ruca. Thanks!!
J Class in Palma...that is epic stuff right there! Real "J's"! I bet your rigs anchor is bigger than ours. Haha! Thanks for the great comment and stay safe out there Paul!
That clearing of the anchor looked hard in fast forward, one way to get warmed up. You two are so amazing. Seeing these places I have read so much about is a supreme treat!
Nice place. Nice special papers in prep for Cape Horn, following the laws 😊. Good to see sailors helping each other and sharing experiences. Beautiful video, nice soundtrack. Y’all rock! 📻 Wish y’all a great sailing. Back to channel 16 📻 Stay safe.
Super cool sailing to Cape Horn I am so proud of you guys and so excited seeing this episode 107 Be safe and fear winds and good luck to cross the Cape Horn . I am sharing you video my friends
We had quite the game. The southermost International Football Friendly match! We will show you more of Puerto Toro after the rounding of the other island :-)
So you are not continuing into the Pacific? Just doing a circuit around the islands and coming back - seems a little odd. Very entertaining none the less.
I sure would be excited to be getting closer to rounding the Horn. Good to see you all in good spirits and visiting the small community on a remote island.
Hi, don’t know if you remember me or not. It’s Mike from Altitude Adjustment. We met on Carriacou. Just wanted to say congratulations. Glad you got to live your dream.
Gorgeous places, finally good weather. Impressed with Kate’s Spanish!! Well done Guys. I wonder why you’re going around Cape Horn and returning to Port Willians, how long are you planning to stay in Chile? Safe Sailing!!
Kate, your Spanish is really good, where did you learn? It's nice to see you enjoying the south of my country, i've only been as far as Punta Arenas, i suppose you'll pass by there?
Would be nice to stop by Punta Arenas but it is a bit out of the way as we head north. Thanks for the compliment about español. I learned many years ago studying in school and some in Spain. Saludos!
Small correction minute 17 "trenches with the war with Argentina". There was never a war with Argentina. Only preparations for it that fortunately never happened :0
Hahaha! We had to look closely and a few times. You had us going! It is a light on a post that the support blends in....or at least that is what they want us to believe ;-)
Good morning crew of the Sweed Ruca, special greetings to Mrs. Roxy, I am pleased to know that they are within the Chilean Patagonian estuaries, they are truly exceptional, they resemble those of the western United States, Alaska and northern Canada, the hand of GOD it is exceptionally beautiful and intelligent, we are in May and the SOUTH PACIFIC is entering its splendor, THE WEATHER WILL BE LIKE WINDOWS WIDE OPEN, FAVORABLE RIGHT UP TO NEW ZEALAND. I WAIT FOR PHOTOS OF MAJI MAJI (GOLDEN FISH) AND SOME YELLOW FIN TUNA, THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND DELICIOUS. BLESSINGS AND I HOPE ON SOME OPPORTUNITY TO MEET YOU ON THE FLY OF THE CARIBBEAN, CUBA WILL BE PREPARING AT THAT TIME TO RECEIVE OUR BEST AND OLDEST BROTHERS, GOD BLESS YOU AND A LITTLE BONE FOR ROXY ⚓🍖
So cool Guys.... 😎
Excellent
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Great video again ❤

Thanks Rob. We have a feeling you will like the next episode ;-)
It's all about the weather, and you guys are the best!
What can I say but, Just Beautiful. The route you wanted to take is probably for military traffic only.
1 word, "awesome ".😊
Go ROXY Go
Another great video experience, I really appreciate the little things like double screens for tacking and the view over the side plus everything else , really good.
And the videos keep getting better. Thanks so much for sharing.
epic ,and the best is yet to come !!!!!

Riveting footage of the landscape and the village. Great anticipation for the next episode!

Wow! Thats a huge compliment! Love your channel name btw! Thank you!
I’m as excited as you. I have never seen a cruising yacht go around the Horn. Your videos are so explanatory I feel I should have a go myself
Another Epic video. Thanks for sharing and safe travels. Not too many sailors venture around the Horn, so congrats to you both. So cool.
Great video. Made me misty with happiness at your palpable excitement in a place that reminds me so much of my PNW cruising grounds.
Never thought it would be so pretty down at the cape. : ) If or when I get a boat I will go that route.
Wait for the next episode and tell us if it would change your mind ;-)

Getting down to the nitty gritty now. The next video will be a record setting epic. Best real sailing channel on UA-cam.

Stupendous sailing. You two are the real deal and your Cinematography is fantastic also.

Kate… always enjoy your crew work. Your spinning off the jib sheet on a tack is a joy to watch!
Fair winds. 😄
Super cool sailing to Cape Horn I am so proud of you guys and so excited seeing this episode 107
Be safe and fear winds and good luck to cross the Cape Horn . I am sharing you video my friends
Hi Rimas! We are glad you are enjoying! Cheers!
Amazing, truly epic experience.
Had to hit refresh 3 times to get the comments to come up, guess you posted upside down. Who knew "football" on the horn.
We had quite the game. The southermost International Football Friendly match! We will show you more of Puerto Toro after the rounding of the other island :-)
@@SailingSweetRuca 800 ships went down on the horn in the early 1900's, be safe my friends. ua-cam.com/video/tb4A1mwZOok/v-deo.html
Beautiful video awesome, safe sailing around the horn
So you are not continuing into the Pacific? Just doing a circuit around the islands and coming back - seems a little odd. Very entertaining none the less.
Would never come all the way down here and miss the amazing beauty of Chilean Patagonia.
Don’t take that radio crap from him Kate!
@@salnichols94805 Right on Nick!
Wow, amazing little place at the end of the world. Congrats and look forward to seeing your journey!!
Hey guys, awesome trip. Just a thing, Chile and Argentina never went to war, no once. Great videos and great sailing, fair winds.
When does the ice move in? Just remembered that our sunmer is winter down there.
The ice happens in the fall and winter. Our Patreons have seen some shots of the Sweet Ruca with ice already ;-)
Gorgeous scenery/nature/music! Kindness runs through you❤️🇨🇦
Love that comment: "and they have guns"!
I sure would be excited to be getting closer to rounding the Horn. Good to see you all in good spirits and visiting the small community on a remote island.
You guys are awesome! What an inspiring adventure:)
Congradulations on being the first sailing You Tubers to round Cape Horn! I thought it was going to be Sailing Zingaro but then they had a baby.
I hope you said, the edge of the world and not the end of the world, to me that's a big difference.
Congrats anyway.
Great content on this video. Lots of information sailors will enjoy. Great choice of music. Good luck on rounding the horn
I'm saying congrats, before I have seen the entirety. If you didn't do it in this one, it will be soon. Best to you both.
This one will be a two part, it heats up in Part 2.
Oooh, I like the PIP edit 😎
Such beauty in an area so few get to see.
We are glad you liked the Picture in Picture. Trying to do fun camera angles!
watched every episode guys and we are feeling your excitement right now ❤

Almost there. The people are so nice in Latin American.
Haha!
He wants a boat load of 25,700 people on the boat. Lunatics!
ha ha I call dibs on front seat.
We're gonna need a bigger boat. :-)
😃👍👍👍❤

Ok people. I don't believe in aliens, but someone has to explain what that is in the sky at 17:38.

@@SailingSweetRucaAah. A simple logical answer. Thats why I don't believe in aliens.
Why didn't you's go around the Horn instead of through it !

Actually, we have been saying it for 3 years. We will get there when we get there.
