I was at the original launch event for the Malibu. As a Toyota / Honda guy I was blown away by the Malibu’s design, fit, and finish. I thought for sure it was a NUMMI joint venture between Toyota and GM like the Corolla / Prism. When I said that to the GM rep, he beamed with pride and said “No, we did this car ourselves.” Weeks later, I drove one for a weekend and loved the car. A guy on the sidewalk chased me up to the red light and went bonkers for the Malibu. He said he thought it was a redesigned Nissan Maxima. This generation of Malibu was one of GM’s better efforts.
This was my first car back in 2012, had a love hate relationship. It started breaking down and I had to learn how to fix it. This car taught me a lot so I loved it for that.
Say what you will about the chevy malibu, I know it got negative comments back in the day and How plain it looked but honestly sleek body style to me is actually pretty gorgeous, For how old it is now it still fills in the boxes if you're looking for a Budget vehicle, I believe I have a base model with custom option, it has 240k miles on the clock and it has not given me any issues whats so ever, For how old it is its quite, soft and comfortable, But then again all the vehicle I drive are from the 90s lol

I had this one for ten years. Great car, until it started breaking down.
For all the standard features the base Malibu has, that split fold should have been
probably just mention you don't use timing belt as a plus. save at least 1k .
