    Getting down to business with our winter greenhouse build as we continue our Passive Solar Greenhouse with Geothermal Build, an off grid winter Greenhouse in Mongolia. In this episode we Just do it and show you how to install Polycarbonate on a greenhouse. Now hopefully soon we will be able to extend the growing season and grow things that no one has ever grown in Mongolia before. This will be an Off Grid Passive Solar Greenhouse built in Mongolia that has also incorporated a full GAHT System Geothermal greenhouse. This is all part of the adventure and joinery to an off-grid homestead in the land of the blue sky.

    Dear friend! Congratulations. Does double layer of poly significantly reduce the sun lights by how many percent? I understand that it is going to be really warm. Some veggies inside my 1 layer of poly green house have light green leaves, which means the sun light is quite reduced as it reaches to the veggies leaves. Anyway, once you guys complete your project, please come to my place for a relax. My veggies have grown well and yous might get some ideas.

      Thank you so much 🙏🏻🥰 super glad you enjoyed it. Yes a little but we are used 4mm double wall poly witch has an R-Value of 1.43 and a U-Value of 0.70 which has not enough insulation value for the cold months and an 8mm has R-Value of 1,60 and a U-Value of 0.63 so not a big reduction of light between the two but instead of buying 8mm poly we got 4mm and we will do 2 layers with a 10cm air gap between them to increase the insulation Value. 👏 we word would really like that 🙏🏻

    Love your project. The gutters will probably not work well in a heavy rain. The gutters will probably need to be mounted further up on the fascia. Go out in a heavy rain and see how the water is coming off the roof. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work. Take Care from Texas

WHAT AT WONDERFUL GREENHOUSE. i HOPE TO LAST SEVERAL LIFETIMES FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. yOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELVES. Hope we have inspired you in anyway to live you dream life and hope to hear more about your amazing journey back to Nebraska. 🙏🏻

      @@SimpleWildLiving I figured. I know it rained all day the other day and UB was a mess after. That much rain could have messed up your project. Got to Erdernet today, by train and they got a lot of rain out here, lots of ponding of water in the fields. I saw what looked like ducks in the water. Didn't have the camera to capture them. Was cool to see though.
      The cold days are fast approaching, seems you guys will get it completed before then. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

    Hey! I just wanted to say I love watching you guys' videos and all the progress you are making! It is extremely encouraging to see. Me and my wife's dream is to be able to do this kind of stuff together but it's so hard to imagine being able to have enough money to live and to have this kind of lifestyle at the same time. Seeing you guys really helps encourage me to keep trying to achieve this goal. Anyways, I don't want to bore you with the long comment haha. Great job guys. You both seem like awesome people. Would love to get to meet yall if we ever got to go to Mongolia someday! :)

    • @SimpleWildLiving

      Hi Sarah 👋🙏🏻 thanks so much, yes we will do something because of course we do have a well but the water 💦 is to cold to use strange away on the plants so it will have to go in a storage container first anyway so collecting rain water is a faster way to have water ready to use.

    Really like the videos for the greenhouse project! How do you guys plan to mitigate the condensation between your 2 layers of polycarbonate? I assume your purlins are slightly smaller than your trusses so moisture can go underneath and drain out the bottom?

      Hi Darren, thanks so much 🙏🏻 they are getting big fast, we started with 64 eggs and got 37 chicks 🐥 so pretty got lost a few but that is to be expected unfortunately. And if half are female that would give us 17 females 👏👏👏 so great

    Looks great! Are the strips that you siliconed and screwed down between the sheets of polycarbonate metal or plastic?
    I used metal and after the first year they became wavy and didn’t lay flat to the polycarbonate. This took the silicone with it and now wind is blowing under the sheets.

    • @SimpleWildLiving

      Hi we will have for the doors and windows. 👍 but no because glass doesn’t distribute the light in the right way for growing this way and the insulation value is not that good 👍

    • @SimpleWildLiving
      @SimpleWildLiving  Рік тому

      Hi 👋 thanks so much we’ll there are many other factors that go in to keeping it warm
      In the winter. The shape of the GH the Ground to air heat transfer system and the air gap in between the 2 layers of Poly, I can recommend to the end of the season to learn more and follow us into the next winter and it will all make sense 🙏🏻😊
