Das Stück habe ich oft gehört, aber noch nie so exzellent. Wie ein anderer Kommentar sagte, er lässt es so leicht aussehen. Er spielt so tänzerisch. Einfach faszinierend, die Phrasierungen und die Artikulation, fesselnd! Neresheim hat eine der interessantesten Orgeln überhaupt. Die Aufnahme wird dem Raum auch gerecht. Vielen Dank fürs Teilen!

Holzhey organs are just so under-appreciated. They aren't instruments that Bach would have played, but I think they are the pinnacle of pre-Romantic organs.
I definitely agree with Holzhey is the most underrated of all German organbuilders. I do think though that Johann Nepomuk Holzhey ties with Zacharias Hildebrandt for being the pinnacle of pre-Romantic organbuiilders.

Albert Rieder Registrierung und Geschwindigkeit sind bei Bach ja nicht vorgegeben. Aber ein Werk fehlerfrei in konstanter Geschwindigkeit zu spielen kann ich, ich muss es dafür über mehrere Monate üben (je nach Länge natürlich), bis es eineandfrei geht/ mein Lehrer zufrieden ist.
Alles was ich sehe und höre ist sehr schön und sehr begabt. Nur eine Bemerking. Ich versuche nie, eine Etüde von dieser hochwertigen Musik zu machen. Ich sage nur, dass es zum Verlust von Musik führen kann. Musik soll metaphysisch bleiben...
Herrliche Interpretation. Mir gefällt besonders die feine Agogik im Präludium. Die Fuge würde ich eventuell etwas weniger staccato spielen, das ist aber Geschmackssache. Auch die Fuge ist großartig. Wundervoll durchartikuliert, technisch unglaublich souverän und präzise.

I have read that all the manual changes are Bach's own wish. And I can believe its true because the key aleays ending properly before jumping to an another manual. Something like that never happend in the fugue BWV 543. Robert, take a close look at the sheet music, the fugue 543. Do you find a single spot where to go to other manuals, and back, and still keep the cadenzaes sounds properly? No, we don't find anything like the Toccata 538. The differences between the fugue 543 and the toccata 538 shows us how important it was for the composer to finish a frase in a proper way before jumping to other manuals. During the 1800 and 1900 the organ composers often wanted changes of manuals. So if you are addicted to manual changes, please listening to the organ music from the 1800-1900. Don't criticize the few organists who makes attempts to restore baroque music, they are not too many!

Orgelbaumeister schade, die Fuge ist zweifelsfrei deutlich zu schnell gespielt. Der große Nachhall in dieser Kirche wurde nicht berücksichtigt. Deshalb klingt alles ziemlich chaotisch...was Bach zweifelsfrei nicht wollte!!!
Stefan, Du solltest nicht so selbstsicher sein. Es war auf den alten Orgeln technisch überhaupt nicht möglich in solch einem Tempo diese Fuge BWV 543 so "herunter zu rasen" und zwar wegen der großen Ventile die ohne Spielhilfen (Balanciers) oder elektrische Koppeln betätigt werden mussten. Darüber hinaus geht es nicht um Schnelligkeit sondern um Verständlichkeit, wobei der Nachhall zu berücksichtigen ist! Übrigens, falls Du bei einer Bach-Fuge eine Tempobezeichnung nachweisen kannst, so teile sie bitte mit. Es wird Dir nicht gelingen!
Statt "Verständlichkeit" hatte ich zunächst flüchtig "Verdaulichkeit" gelesen... ^^ Wenn mit Interpreten "die Pferde durchgehen" (ich bin auch gerne mal am "überpesen"), sie also schneller spielen als Instrument und/oder Raum vertragen, und versuchen, das mit sehr offenem Spiel bis zum Staccato (wenn das stereotyp wird, schalte ich auf Durchzug oder schlafe beim Zuhören ein) zu kompensieren, kommt das nächste große Problem der Tonentwicklung großer Pfeifen und Töne im Raum, für die dann keine ausreichende Zeit mehr ist... diese Orgel macht wacker mit, aber der große Raum nicht. Das Praeludium finde ich in puncto Tempo und Agogik sehr schlüssig und angemessen, ist im Hinblick auf die Fuge schon auf Tempo-proportio angelegt (d.h. Triolen im Praeludium = tatsächliche Fugen-Sechzehntel), allerdings höre ich im fernen Hintergrund nach den über 7 Sekunden Nachhall die Bässe nur noch rumpeln und die Mittelstimmen undeutlich hüpfen... :-(
wirklich empfehlen kann ich diese a-moll Fuge aus BWV 543 gespielt von Matthias Havinga, Lehrer am Amsterdamer Conversatorium. Daran gibt es nicht auszusetzen. Auch sonst ist dies ein sehr schönes Video...!!!
Ja, das hatte ich mir schon längst markiert, weil er neben der vollgültigen Interpretation deutliche musikalische Ausrufezeichen setzt, die sich sonst kaum jemand traut. Dort ist der Nachhall "humaner" als in Neresheim.

Blödsinn, das Tempo ist genau richtig! Langsamer würde ichs nicht mehr spielen. Es steht ja nicht Adagio!
