The green looks incredible 😍 I have it loose on my cabinets and it is such an eye-catching model as I come down the stairs. It is definitely the green paint and the metallic look. Doubt I'll ever find the chase car, but I wouldn't want one loose, because you're quite right, the green looks more dynamic...
Man this is a nice set! Even though I only have the Fast & Furious NSX R, the Fast & Furious XE SV Project 8, the easter egg blue GT3 RS, the Mercedes C-Class DTM Touring that came in the same set as the Porsche, the gray Boulevard Ford GT, and the team transport Supra MK V, these would be great additions to my collection! You can also see a little interesting sneaky hide in the background when the chase is being shown, you can see a black Lamborghini Countach in the background. Edit: Specifically want the Essenza SCV12 and Agera R. Edit 2: Finally got the Essenza and Agera! On my birthday!
The Alfa is produced “strah-dah-lay” which means street or road in Italian. Usually it appears in a car name to designate that it’s the street version of a race car, so it’s funny to see a stradale in a racing scheme. There was no such car which actually raced like that, but the livery is reminiscent of the Tipo 33’s that actually raced.
He Lamborghini is complete fire! The green and black or all black both are insane…. I actually found the green one tonight and I never thought I’d find it… so far could be my favourite find! 🔥
Dude, the previous Exotic Envy had ONE epic model, which was the beautiful lime green Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 with the amazing chrome 5 spoked wheels. Easily THE best looking Huracan made so far (more than the Dr Strange). The new blue from the twin pack with a silver Aventador will probably surpass it, but it was the star of the previous set...
This set is definitely better than the last one, but still far from perfect. The Alfa, as lovely as it looks, doesn't belong in this set, the Speedtail and Agera would've looked nicer in new colours, the Essenza is a great addition but the front doesn't look right. I have to say, from both a biased or unbiased perspective, the EB110 is the best here. It's the best executed casting and release, in the signature EB110 spec, and even though the wheels are wrong for an EB110 SS (remember, the casting is an SS, not a GT) it still looks great. Do I still wish it was in a different colour? Yes, if they were doing a repeat I'd prefer the yellow with red interior and black 10sp, or a different colour with different wheels altogether, but that's about it.
The Alfa is pronounced "Strad-arl- ehh". Having researched it, in reality the 33 was limited to just 18 cars. 0-62 in 6secs & a max speed of 160mph. Quite an impressive car. This Agera model is the first I've ever owned and it's lovely. Glad it's identical to the first. I also love the extra detail on the EB110 and it goes well with my original Veyron, black Chiron & grey Diva... The Speedtail goes beautifully with the Hobbs/Shaw dark grey... ***UPDATE*** Found the Essenza and its a beautiful looking effort. Even a metal wing cast onto it! The chase will elude me, but I'm happy to have finally found the green regular model. Its been worth hunting. And I still maintain that the Huracan 610-4 Exotic Envy Carculture was the one outstanding looker from the previous set.......
Any "exotic" focused subseries without a Ferrari still feels incomplete but at least this set has the Alfa Romeo Stradale 33, which is about as close to a classic Ferrari as Hot Wheels can get without Mattel having to pay May Cheong Group for a Ferrari sublicense. Not that I've seen Car Culture in Ottawa in well over half a year so my chances of picking anything up from this set are low. At least I have the first release of the Alfa Romeo Stradale 33 from Boulevard 2020.
I have the Need for Speed Agera R and I prefer the wheels on that version but I always like seeing some blackwall. 🤷♂ In regards to exotic Real Riders rims, some of the Hot Wheels premium Ferraris from before Mattel lost the license had very appropriate rims, like the Miami Vice Ferrari 512M (which they used instead of the first gen Testarossa as seen in the show because [reasons]) where the rims look like they were inspired by Testarossa rims in the first place (also the same rims worn by the Ferrari 288 GTO in Garage 2010).
@@johnathonkelley5234 May Cheong Group (owners of Bburago and Maisto) has the exclusive diecast rights to Ferrari so, until the rights are up for bids again (I suspect it'll be within the next 2 years, since MCG's licensing deal started in 2015), the only way Mattel can put out a Ferrari would be to obtain a sublicense from May Cheong Group the way Tomica does, and, since Mattel hasn't done this in the past 7 years, I can only assume sublicensing Ferrari from another diecast manufacturer is too expensive to be worth it for Mattel. I wish Mattel would sublicense Ferrari.
I genuinely feel that it was just the most unfortunate thing that Mattel lost the Ferrari license just a year prior to Car Culture's debut. I'm damn sure that they would've done a dedicated Ferrari Car Culture set for sure during these 6-7 years and so many Ferraris would've benefited from getting the full special premium treatment that Ferrari usually likes to see on their cars. And on top of that, I can't even begin to think of what new castings they would've done or what previously mainline castings would be redone in premium (like the latest Countach in the Jay Leno set).
Awesome showcaae. I do love expensive Exotics. The Yellow Alfa Romero version looks like a completely different car, but I dig it. Speedtail is a rehash, but that's the beautiful color is debuted in. I prefer the mainline wheel style tho. What makes it premium. Still has a plastic base? Red Koeniseg Agera is just WOW in red! Loving the Bugatti. Proper shade of blue. They colored in the air intakes in the front which I did on my mainline version and it looks so much more authentic. Even the yellow on the headlights makes it look better. The new Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 lloks amazing. I prefer the green one to the chase. The Green is more worthy of a chase, but whatever. They both gonna be equally hard to find. I might as well just wait for its debut in maniline.
The Alfa is something I did some reading up on today, having bought it to complete my set. There were only 18 of them made and some of the excess cars were used on Alfa prototypes such as the Alfa Carabo. "What's that?" I hear you say maybe? It was the car Ghandini made in 1968 that first used scissor doors that ended up on the Lamborghini Countach, Diablo & Murcielago cars. Ghandini and I ItalDesign used the wedge-shaped idea in 1975 and the Lotus Esprit S1 was born.... The 1968 Stradale 33 was also capable of 0-62mph in 6secs and could be pushed to 160mph. Not bad when you think Ferrari & Lamborghini were really the only names capable of producing cars that powerful....
Amazing mix! Can’t wait for them! I think there’s enough difference between mainline and premium on the Bugatti for me, the speedtail not so much. Noticed a few QC issues on some of the cars here though, hopefully those aren’t widespread for this mix
Agree with QC issues. My Lambo essenza has a light grey blemish on the roof, and the tampo on the mirror is off. Well, no complaints because where I live, the essenza is scalped like crazy. Getting one at retail is more than enough.
@@bulukaki7063I'm with you 100% about the tampos on the SCV12. My first one I got, the tampo was "misplaced" but I had no way of knowing this until it had been opened. Luckily I had more than one. Rather than get upset/email Mattel etc, I've put it aside so I can paint it to a "chase" version for myself & stick on my display shelves. It's not something that you look for or expect to find with a premium effort & not easy to spot until after the pack is opened. Surely Mattel know collectors keep cars in packaging and QC needs to be improved at their factories.

It looks absolutely amazing in its standard trim. I just love that metallic green and all that surface deco. This Essenza and the Skyline from Mountain Drifters so far would have to be my favourite Hot Wheels Car Culture premiums this year.

Totally in agreement with you about the Huracan 610-4. The green is truly beautiful and the Dr Strange grey is great. The new blue from the twin pack is also lovely. Some good stuff for scalpers, they look hella expensive. Just saw one yesterday for pre order. They were expensive just as my kidney is. Alfa Romeo was cheap but others wasn’t, why?
