Looks good man! Ive been thinking of adding louvers to my hood as well, thanks for the informative video.

It's a long process to put them in, but it will give you plenty of opportunity for more cooling. I have been thinking of going turbo, and the side louver will sit right over a turbo and exhaust piping. I will have to be cautious on rain since my filter is now exposed on the top. Colder air intake though.

@@BasinMotorsports If your open element air filter is under a vent these are pretty good at keeping things dry, popular in the offroad community, www.amazon.com/Injen-Technology-X-1033RED-Hydro-Shield-Pre-Filter/dp/B001CO2JGG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2JMYA2H6BBCCR&dchild=1&keywords=injen+hydroshield&qid=1598213458&sprefix=injen%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-2

Thanks! I'll probably pick one up. I don't plan to drive in the rain, but you just never know.

Hopefully it's not too much. I usually overdo my "how to" videos with details.

And usually people install them wrong.

@@oscarzavala5713 I followed the included instructions, and sent a couple emails to Race Louvers to confirm a couple ideas as I was doing it. How do people do them wrong?

Some people don't understand the functionality and finding that sweet spot. But your install was perfect.

going now , this week to install on a ram .
i did hope to leave the hood on the rig working from a scaffold.
    thoughts?
    also
its been some years you have had these on , any observations?
especially about enhanced airflow through the radiator?

Plenty of people throw a tarp or blanket over the engine area and cut. No problem with doing that. It was easier for me to pull the hood to film a few videos, paint the hinges, and replace the rubber cups.
I noticed that the car ran cooler on every drive. 10 degrees or more depending on the outside temperature. The vents give an escape path for all the air stuck in the engine bay, and it really does make a difference.

What ever happened to your versa bro?

    • @BasinMotorsports
      @BasinMotorsports  3 роки тому +1

The gray Nismo one is still in DFW area. Not sure on the red one. I sold it locally to a teenage girl about to graduate high school. I think she went to college or moved out of town.

@@LuisRamirez-oq2nm I have kicked around getting another, but haven't done it. They are great cars. The hardest part for us was using the car enough to justify the cost. I could only use it 8 months of the year since we get heavy snow in winter, and it can't carry enough feed for the animals. It was used about as much as my other toys, which isn't very much.
