I've owned my '85 for nearly 30 years. 151k miles and I've replaced an alternator, brakes, rear shocks, and the oil return tubes/seals. It is indeed a driver's car. It's a car that "talks" to you. The steering feedback is crystal clear, and it has the best brake feel of any car I've ever owned.

I agree 100% with all of your points. Unfortunately so do many other people. The prices have gone crazy!

I have an 84 Carrera which I modified for racing and then had restored as an outlaw. I think air cooled Porsches are similar to the M1911 pistol and the Ford 32. Timeless, iconic styling and sound design that can be modified for performance and aesthetics and still be true to their original nature.

Good points but I rather have a 944/968 or if I was rich, the 928.

I have a 1989 3.2 and agree with the points you made. My favorite part of the car is I have a good handle on the mechanicals of the car. Once I got past how the thing is designed, I dropped the engine, rebuilt it, and went through all the major systems sorting it out. It endears the car to me knowing that no matter what happend, "I got it handled".

Just like the old Harley's, if you take care of it, you can always get back what you paid for it plus a whole lot more. I speak from experience.
Even though I've owned and loved a Harley (I no longer ride any motorcycle because of my age and health reasons.), I'm not a "Harley guy" but I am a vintage air-cooled engine guy and there is something special about all of these vehicles, especially for the DIY owner of them.
If you speak from the outside without having actual experience of the subject, then you are one of the flock.

@@boomerguy9935 I have owned a number of Harleys before coming to the conclusion that they are hype. Only took one Porsche to reach same conclusion. Sticking with japanese products
