You without a doubt are the BBC of shoe reviewers sir! Also, thanks for all your albums recommendations - ever interesting and illuminating.
Edd at the moment I am running in an Asics novablast 4 if I get this Adidas shoes would be my first time running in an Adidas running shoe can't wait for that feeling
Im rocking the white/pink ones, best colorway imo. I’m officially preferring the AAAP3 over the Next% now. More versatility and stability for the same price.
Yeah its $360 for pro 3 and pro 2 the same 🤦♂️(alphafly is $370 and can pick up previous ver on cheap) ... would love to try adidas pro 3 but that need to wait until get 30% voucher ..
Can confirm everything. I 51 Years old was running the Berlin Marathon in it. The first 10k i got 20min/5km this is my Parkrun PB on a marathon effort. The shoe make it so easy to run fast. And it is far more stable than new balance, nike or asics elite racers. I twist with every other high stack racer but this adios pro 3 no chance.
You could hardly contain your glee. A disclaimer that you're not paid by Adidas would be in order . £220 is a lotta dough though, so I'll probably sit on the fence until some decent discount comes around.
Sounds like they've kept most of what was good on the pro 2 and tweaked a few points for the better! Been clocking up half marathon pbs on the pro 2s and have Dublin Marathon in 4 weeks. Would still like to try metaspeed sky+ at some stage, but the pro 3s sound like a good bet for next pair
That is some selection of super shoes behind you, the Christmas tree will look colourful this year! I'm already bored of the rain, but luckily Alex has got a special offer on, anywhere in the world 80 per cent off 🏖
I like the Pro2 a lot and this looks like an upgrade.....I even like the colourway despite 'slagging off' that Puma Woolworths special you recently reviewed....thanks for the review Ed.
@@EDDBUD ....totally agree...shame the price is 'up there' too I'm leaning towards the Adidas(longevity wise) versus Endorphin Pro for my upcoming birthday request.
Love this shoe. Recently ran a half marathon in this and my feet loved every second of it. Nice smooth ride when you’ve locked into a pace. Corners great as well. The shoe did need a few km of break-in before the race though. I felt as if the rods were a bit stiff, but definitely loosened up after the break-in
Would love a training shoe Version of the pro 3 with thicker rubber for more durability and a tread pattern so can use it on less ideal surfaces ( not a trail shoe tho ) Keep the midsole the same or maybe make it less stiff with fibreglass energy rods and put a slightly more plusher upper on
I’ve noticed that the light strike foam is starting to wear a little on mine where the cut out is on the outsole. I’ve done a little over 100 miles, so it will be interesting how they fair over time.
I really like this shoe and for me it addresses the issues I had with the Pro 2 - more stable, wider base. My main issue is the lacing as you and others have identified. Its fiddly to get right and I feel like I end up either settling for too loose or a hot spot on the top of my foot. I’m going to try softer squishy tubey laces I have on my Freedom 3’s and see if that helps. Also I agreed they are a touch short for a fully secure runners knot… I’ve had them unravel at the end of a couple of long runs.
Awesome initial review Edd. 👍 I am quite surprised that you had no issues or reservations regarding the upper. The usual UK 11 felt a tad restrictive on top of my foot near my big toe. Please keep us informed on your journey with this one - I am still a tad wary of the upper but that colourway and midsole improvements may sway me to consider it. 😅
Thank you Edd for the exciting information. I am going look out to purchase these shoes later this year (when the price may decline....who knows?) Since I don't race, I train in my exotic racing shoes. I do all my intervals, Threshold runs, and VO2 Max runs in exotic racing shoes. Note to Edd: I have never pulled out my wonderful guitars to take on my runs...too cumbersome.
That’s a beaut. That heel thing is the only bit that bugs me. But some may need it to get the shoe on. The Slinglaunch heel work very well. There’s a really nice balance between upper and midsole materials in the new era of adizero options. ✌🏽💙👟
Edd I'm in love with this shoe but asking would you purchase this or the asics metaspeed sky paris which one is better looking forward to your response many thanks
This shoe seems to be the best race shoe out there looking at elites and the podiums places at marathons but not sure how much that is down to the shoe or down to adidas having the best runners. Obviously a certain someone in the Nike alpha flys wins but I think he is a once in a generation athlete and he would win using any brands top shoes.
Hi Edd, great vidéo as always and love the humour. I have the 2 that I've always find unstable. They are in size 11.5 and have wide(r) feet than average. I've do feel they run sightly long. With the increase in width in the 3's would you consider going down half a size. As always it would be hard to confirm as long as I don't have then on feet, but just to get your take on that. Thanks and all the best
Yes true to size here. No need for a half up. It’s a good .5 cm extra width in the widest point which is really quite a bit extra across the whole midsole. 👍🏼
I like the rocker in the forefoot, I like the upper, not this color-way though ... :-) I like that it is lighter. I don't like the cut out in the forefoot and the laces rings, I got broken one in the SL20.2... there is now a reinforcement but I don't trust this system. The Adios Pro 2 is already good for me in terms of midsole, not that narrow to be honest, especially if you compare to the Adios 7. Usually I don't wear this shoe every day because the stack height... I like the ground feel more and I believe it is better for my foot strength..... Very nice outsole... Price is too high!!!! I prefer to buy still the Adios pro 2 with a better price. Thanks EDDBUD for the video!
Hi Thanks for the review I watched your review of the prime x as well Which would you recommend for long run - marathon training ( not necessarily to use for race days) but more for 20+ km days when those muscles are fatigued etc .. Thanks again
Its a great looking shoe. I look forward to snagging a pair on discount some fine day. The Pro 2's cushion wise are top notch but have always felt a bit wobbly when it comes to stability. Ive raced some twisty turny 5k courses and was struggling to keep the sunny side up. LOL. Maybe the added width in these will solve that problem.
Love them. Do not like the tongue. It’s sloppy and flips over all the time. I also would have preferred celarmesh. Other than that it’s great. Midsole and outsole is outstanding and way more stable than the 2. Much better for long runs.
That flappy pull tab reminds me of the heel of the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 of all things, at least in the way the tension from the foot keeps it down. The grievance I had heard about the coarse lining at the heel is that it chews up socks. Have you found that to be the case?
Just got a pair of Boston 11 for daily duties, and awarded my top ever VO2 Max with the latest Adios 7 in the Al-Rizla colorway (way coooool !), so there's less gas in the tank to afford another pair. Otherwise, these shoes would have been mine !
Great review, but I disagree with the upper assesment and the laces. Most uncomfortable of all my shoes Adidas should have left more paddings here and there where I almost get blisters and over a marathon distance I most certainly will.. the tounge could also be bigger' and gasseted.. it moves to the side during runs and the shoe cuts into my foot. The laces are a disaster. Too tight no circulation in foot.. too lose bad lockdown.. after lots of stops and adjustments I ended up changing them out to a more stretchy new balance laces that resolved that problem. Great mid and outsole though. Good ride. The only advantage it has over the pro2 is the stability I think. Might be an important one.
I tried it on in the running store. But I have the feeling it will create some hotspots under my foot. Tried also halve size up but also that was no option. After walking away from the store, my feet kept feeling this hotspot in the mid-foot. So too much money to gamble if it will work after a few miles. That’s always the great risk. You buy something with some short runs in the store, but the real deal comes after some long runs. Well hope you enjoy your runs. I stay on my speed2 and pro2 shoes of Saucony (pro3 too soft).
Hi midsole king 👊 , I hope ed dose adizero week vs zoomx week now that's going to be very interesting 🤔 who will win the fresh legs test 🤔 , you need the primex strung to ed 👍
Neil Young has a anthropomorphic relationship with all his cars. Especially the ones that are old and understated. I'm surprised his wife actress Daryl Hannah hasn't convinced him yet to get rid of the gasoline ones even though he has some that are electric. She once spent a week living in a walnut tree.
I really dislike the upper of the Pro 3. Thinking about returning it and waiting for the next iteration hopefully with a better upper. Will the Strung upper be used for anything besides Prime X?
Great review! The colorway is gorgeous. Interesting my shoes are heavier at a whopping 302gr( same size 11uk/12us). Found the shoe fast at higher paces but unforgiving when the pace dropped… will keep at it!
Great colorway Ed! I hope the same colorway launches here too. Mine was the white-black-pink model as they were heavily discounted (40%!) weeks after release in the Zalora App. As someone returning after an injury, It cradles your feet with its forgiving midsole and is vastly stable than the previous model. I could've ran more KMs on my first run with this shoe, but unfortunately, my endurance isn't the same as before. My only concern is when the upper folds on the toe box, it rubs a bit with my left toe. I hope it goes away when as the shoe ages. Stay safe and cheers!
Oh man I want these! I really didn't get on with the AAP 2 or the Prime X due to some mad stability issues but these look and sound a whole lot better 🤞🏻 That price tag is eye watering though so I'll have to have a little clear out of other trainers 1st before picking these up 😫
That’s a tough one. The pro 3 is lighter and perhaps even more breathable. Maybe the Saucony on dry days. The adidas has more grip overall and if you like lower drops it’s the one to go for.
Finally got the 3 huh? 👏👏👏 👍👍👍. Great review. Spot on with the stability and midsole increase. I'm really enjoying it but at the moment on the injured reserve 🤕. Hopefully be back and logging some more miles in them soon. Also really looking forward to getting more miles into the Endorphin Pro 3. That shoe is definitely a pleasant shocker to me 😲. Those 2 shoes are a toss up for my first marathon next year 🤷. Take care and stay healthy Edd 😃
Is this true to size? I recently had to send some back as they came up really small. I have the Boston 12s in same size and the pro 3s are visually smaller.
@@EDDBUD yeah the heal rubber is disappearing from the right shoe. Too close to the Dublin marathon to return them but other than that they are a whopper of a shoe. Couldn't run a mile in a pair of ultra boost due to a hip issue but I had any issues running in the pro 2. Either the plush midsole or carbon rods are taking all the impact on the run.
@@EDDBUD Interesting. I'll have to go read the World Athletics shoe regs again. If they only have to comply at the "sample size", why not just say that a pro athlete wears an EU48 when they are actually wearing a 44 (fake label sewn in and everything), so they could go beyond the 40mm limit? It's a shoespiracy!
Good review Edd..the upper was a step back..for me all adidas definitely need the heel lock..the midsole is very stiff..to get the most out of it you really need to get up on your toes..reminds me of the alphafly V1 or acics sky +..I actually like the Takumi Sen 8 better,it seems to roll smoother and takes less effort to maintain pace..very hard to beat the Takumi Sen 8 so I picked a couple prs..hopefully you are able to get there pound some ground..at 1 time I had all the Neil Young albums as well as most of the artists of time..how times have changed..at least it's all available on line..
Seems like a really versatile shoe, I wonder what the longevity will be!! I was waiting to see if anyone here mentioned the Adidas phishing scam on this shoe for Berlin marathon runners, but doesn't look like it ... I thought it was pretty damn scummy for such a big "reputable" company to mislead people that way to get data! Barry from Oldmanrunner did a video about it if anyone wants to know more.
nice review. I've sent you comments but you never respond. I liked the pro 2 better, softer as I put in the miles. I need to no Adidas pro 3 or Saucony pro 3. need to no
Great video as always Ed. I heard that this version is difficult to put the shoe on your foot due to the new lacing system. Is it as bad as they say? I would hope I wouldn't need a shoe horn to put them on.
Now I'm excited to use mine. I have them for 2 weeks now and haven't even tried them on. Haha 🤣 I always think that if they're racing shoes, that they can only be used in racing or in my case in my triathlon race. I'll be using them now on my daily runs. Very jealous of that colorway. Love them
@@EDDBUD actually I have the adios pro 2s as well. Just have 15kms on them. Haha I'll be using them from now on. Let's see if I can use them for my daily training sessions. Thanks edd, keep up the great work. More shoe review and musical interludes to come.

Absolutely bought myself. Though didn’t not pay £220. Got them on a discount for £187 I think.
The prices will get worse. A combination of rising inflation, a surging USD and a plummeting GBP are terrible news for UK prices
Given the pound devaluation in recent times, expect all shoe prices (in GBP) to go up dramatically.
The saddest news I’ve heard in a while.

Which would you choose between the saucony pro 3 and this one?
That’s a tough one. The pro 3 is lighter and perhaps even more breathable. Maybe the Saucony on dry days. The adidas has more grip overall and if you like lower drops it’s the one to go for.
Is this your highest scoring shoe on the channel?
Need to double check this. Primex was high
@@EDDBUD you gonna try the new prime x?
Found them about the same. The Adios pro is the racer of the two this has that more snug fit
I think you should start scoring the names of the shoes. Adidas gets a .5 out of 3 for over complexity
Pegasus will score highly as a winged beast.
@@EDDBUD agreed! If you ever played MTG, they would be considered a Legendary Creature 🦄🦄
That colour way isn’t on the adidas app….where is this one from please ?
Sportshoes here in the uk.
@@EDDBUD just looked on the app and they have appeared tonight 👍😂
Thanks Edd, Bagged me a piair of Peg 39's and you got another subscriber.
Thanks for joining us Graham
These or the Endorphin Pro 3's? What are key differences
Maybe the end pro 3 over this one. But only just.
Maybe the end pro 3 over this one. But only just.
Would take the endorphin on this one. Only just though
Hope the sole doesn't wear away as quickly as the pro 2 as they are very expensive.
Didn’t get that in my pair. They were pretty robust aside from the heel rubber
As a shoe for easy long runs, the pro 3 or prime x strung?
I go my Prime X just for added cushion. does feel heavier though.
So, it's illegal to race in? Or was that stack in your size, not the sample size?
That was the stack height in his size
The mm stated is my size. It’s “39” for the sample. 👍🏼
Works for me. Though I have noticed a little time needs to be taken on the lacing tightness especially in the forefoot.
I'm here
Seems like a really versatile shoe, I wonder what the longevity will be!!
Sorry just got to this post Bev. Need to investigate this
Pro2 is half the price of pro3 so do I buy 2 or 3 is it worth that much more???
Quite different shoes. Much more width to the pro 3.
nice review. I've sent you comments but you never respond. I liked the pro 2 better, softer as I put in the miles. I need to no Adidas pro 3 or Saucony pro 3. need to no
The Saucony is softer and a little less stable. The adidas perhaps has the better traction and grip.
Great video as always Ed. I heard that this version is difficult to put the shoe on your foot due to the new lacing system. Is it as bad as they say? I would hope I wouldn't need a shoe horn to put them on.
Needs more lacing time than a shoehorn perhaps.
Nice!
same size as takumi sen 8?
Recently I have gone true to size on adidas.
@@EDDBUD but takumi sen 8 runs long, so was wondering if the adios pro 3 also run long?
Now I'm excited to use mine. I have them for 2 weeks now and haven't even tried them on. Haha 🤣
I always think that if they're racing shoes, that they can only be used in racing or in my case in my triathlon race. I'll be using them now on my daily runs.
Very jealous of that colorway. Love them
U were waiting for edbud review
I think they will be durable enough. I find lightstrike pro gets better the more you use it.
@@surajtripathi3624 I was actually. Haha
@@EDDBUD actually I have the adios pro 2s as well. Just have 15kms on them. Haha
I'll be using them from now on. Let's see if I can use them for my daily training sessions. Thanks edd, keep up the great work. More shoe review and musical interludes to come.
Is 45mm legal?
No, 40mm is the heel limit
It was in his shoe size. Not in the sample size
🤣👍🏼
Beast ! Blink twice if you need help 😅
Beast is a much reformed character since the flea collar incident.
It seemed you "really liked" this shoe but didnt "luv it"?
Why can't we get the Cool Dude colors in the USA? Maybe you can call your peepe...
Man, the first Adios Pro looked so clean and nice. This one is an abomination...
Well my current fastest half marathon time is in the original. Maybe that says something. 🤣
Hi

I thought this colour was for the females.. Or it is unisex?
No it’s unisex
