IMPORTANT INFO FOR UK CUSTOMERS BUYING THIS VEHICLE: As of this new model, VW have removed the variable boot floor by default on this new version, it will only come with the floor if you add a spare wheel as an optional extra (£215). If you do not add this as an option then you end up with a boot with no variable floor to put things underneath, a very large load lip, and a large ledge when the seats are folded down (no flat load bay), it is a larger boot however. I wasn't aware of this and have ended up without the floor, and no VW dealership is able to retrofit this for me as it requires brackets that apparently can only be factory fitted (bit of a poor design if you ask me).
What does it come with instead? Ive seen many videos of the car and it has just a cheap alternative felt lining with a handle on it. Pretty much like the one in the mk6 golf

Well I got the Golf 8 and my virtual cockpit is 100% different. I think they just used an old system for this facelift. Also Dieselgate hit them hard. Hopefully they recover quickly, because they need to re establish themselves.
The new Tiguan is very elegant and nice-looking, they returned back to sleek/wedge styling (The previous model was too boxy and American) handling, comfort, practicality, performance, and built quality is top-notch, this car felt planted on the road and in the corners something Asian rivals struggle with, and the cabin is so quiet. The 4Motion AWD is superior to most of its rivals. Definitely a powerful rival for the Rav4 and CRV.
I just picked up a 2022/23 Mazda CX5 sport edition. Brand new, only took 8 weeks to arrive from manufacture. The build quality of our new Mazda completely blows the VW out of the water! It’s nicer to drive than the VW too. The VW dealership in Worcester gave us a 4-6 month lead time on a new Tiguan, but that was STC as with all manufactures. It just so happened my friend ordered a golf mk8 GTE and after waiting 9 months he decided enough was enough and he would go back to the dealership and they changed their tune and told him “sorry but we just don’t know when the next batch of cars will be released to the uk market” so they sold him a Tiguan Rline that was in uk stock, so bare in mind this car was already in the uk he still had another 2 months until it arrived at his dealership 😂 he was a bit desperate by this point but as life is he had gone this far and waited that long he no other choice than to just go with it and he hates it! Hence why we went for the Mazda. Compared to our CX5 the Tiguan is so cheaply made and really poor quality, he was totally shocked when he hopped in my car at how much car you get for the money and the fact I only had a wait of 2 months. If he had looked at one he said he would have ordered one instead of his Tiguan. fyi we replaced a golf mk7 with our new CX5. The golf was a 2013 and it served us very well, although it did have its issues, it was nice to drive and built very well but it seems VW have gone massively downhill. Brexit, lack of raw material and staffing cutbacks are the reason for the down turn in production. VAG’s time at the top has finally come to an end. Always remember “every dog has its day”
@@hiiiofficial8306 RSQ3 clocks 4.4s 0-100kph whereas the Tiguan is averaging 4.8s, it'll be a close one on the 1/4 mile but I think RSQ3 will take this 1🤔
So the new Tiguan is an upgrade on many levels but the Harmon Kardon soundsystem can’t be better than the Dynaudio system (That system was just amazing)
I have the previous model and I'm quite pleased with the reversing camera, the one shown in the video looks like shit. I really like that they gave the reversing camera its own cleaning nozzle, saves you from going back there cleaning it all the time.
Drove two low mileage Tiguans, really liked them both, had them checked and was told to not buy either due to transmission issues. These had only gone 30,000kms. Really VW?

Well I got the Golf 8 and my virtual cockpit is 100% different. I think they just used an old system for this facelift. Also Dieselgate hit them hard. Hopefully they recover quickly, because they need to re establish themselves.
Vw are cost cutting too much, I know they are in trouble but I might Aswell buy a Vauxhall
Not according to the off-road channel reviews.
@@krane15 lol which channels?
Ahhh it’s nice to see Matt complain about the load cover again, I miss the old times when you used to do reviews instead of drag races
Always remember “every dog has its day”
It looks kinda cool

11.05 Nice to see it’s got a hydraulic strut
Great review as usual!
Is this updated Tiguan bigger than the previous model or is it exactly the same car, just updated panels etc? Thanks
Can't wait for a drag race between Tiguan R, RSQ3 and GLA 45
The tiguan has got 330 hp So it has more of a chance to win
@@hiiiofficial8306 RSQ3 clocks 4.4s 0-100kph whereas the Tiguan is averaging 4.8s, it'll be a close one on the 1/4 mile but I think RSQ3 will take this 1🤔
The new Volkswagen Tiguan? 😩 I have the 2018 R line version, seeing it all grown up in this video, agh makes me proud
Looks better imo 😀 my dad owns a rarer Atlantic metallic blue colour one looks amazing especially for a sub 40k suv
its just a huge update, not a new one
@@jh5kl face lift? The old tiguan r line looks better to me. But ill never fork money out for a tiguan untill their interior is looking like the Q8
That's irrelevant to the point of my comment though?
@@dil3038 m8 who are you talking to
How is XC40 in the same league with this and Kodiaq , shouldn't be XC60 if you compare it by size ?
This car is amazing amazing 👌✨ good work volkswagen 👏👏
So the new Tiguan is an upgrade on many levels but the Harmon Kardon soundsystem can’t be better than the Dynaudio system (That system was just amazing)
And you cannot get it in the PHEV version :(
12:10 Egham... good memories of my old university town 😂
I have the previous model and I'm quite pleased with the reversing camera, the one shown in the video looks like shit. I really like that they gave the reversing camera its own cleaning nozzle, saves you from going back there cleaning it all the time.
"Be free load cover be freee" 😂😂😂😂
Woah... that's a unique comment
One suggestion guys. Your comparison photos are shuffling too quickly. It's like that hammer game where you to be ready to pause to see it everytime.
In my opinion, volks make some of the best looking affordable suvs.
Affordable cars if you want.. you dont need an SUV buy an estate
That’s like saying Chlamydia is one of the best sexually transmitted diseases.
@@camwat5193 its my opinion, you don’t have to be rude
VW affordable? They are very overpriced for what they are
@@KL-fl4th It was an attempt at irreverent humour but I can see why that was considered rude. Apologies, no offence intended.
Just bought a SEL 4 motion 6 months ago and there's virtually no difference... Best car I've owned though
Glb vs Tiguan vs Sorento vs Kodiaq
Best SUV test!
probably kodiaq the best
Rav4 The best . The World s best selling Suv .
Glb is best
It’s like debating which is the best out of genital warts, herpes or chlamydia.
Drove two low mileage Tiguans, really liked them both, had them checked and was told to not buy either due to transmission issues. These had only gone 30,000kms.
Really VW?
Love the design of this
Tiguan can have a tagline of "the most boring SUV money can buy". VW designers please learn a thing or two from Nissan designers who made the Magnite. What a sexy and amazing looking mini SUV
Why compare the new model of the "R" line with the simplest older model ???
Lmao i seen that. Didn't do the old r line any justice
1:38 are those cables from the car?! Gotta be kidding me haha
2:40 this channel keeps on getting better
Matt, the cover DOES FIT underneath the trunk “floor”. You got to just flip it upside down.
13:10, nice a new car with a singular reverse light that's working
why do you need more? it’s bright enough in the night
on the other side is the rear fog lamp
It’s a bright LED light so you don’t need more than one
@@dr-ok3sn and in addition you can turn on the hazard lights
