Sad thing is that just because Kolkata was capital in british raj it is now called the cultural capital of India. I mean there are so many other ancient cities way older which has more historic presence than kolkata. Anyways each state has their own cultural importance so calling kolkata as the cultural capital of whole India is absolutely wrong.
People use to laugh on, then Road minister Gadkari (1995s) when he started constructing this express way. Look today, we are expanding. 20 years down the line Mumbai-Nagpur will also a play a similar role. Great stuff by Fadanvis & Gadkari in MH.

I once drove on this expressway, it was my first time on an expressway and I was surprised for sure, It was a great experience, I love the feel of Indipandance these roads give you.

Hygiene, road driving sense, discipline, public manners, no fighting in trains for seats and luggage space, police should not need to use sticks like some savage times. So many things. Thanks for the info. This is my favorite road, the most beautiful road in India I have ever seen. I always loved to drive on this road. My favorite part is the Ghat section of the road. One of the best Engineering marvels of India, excellent job done by MSRDC and participating private players. One small request, please make videos in Hindi also, Hindi me video dekhne ka alag hi maja h.
You should look at the highways/expressways in northern part of our country. I recently drove on this one and it felt old based on the carriageway size

Very good explanation. Also govt need to double the no. of toll gates. Make at least 30 lane toll gate. Hopelessly inadequate even with fast tag specially during holidays.
Can't wait to see it after 6 months again. But don't think it will open for traffic in March 2023. I think it will open in 2024. Seeing current progress.
Mumbai-Pune Expressway is MSRDC project, managed under Government of Maharashtra’s projects. Conversation of this project started in 1988 when late Rajiv Gandhi was in Raigad. Official feasibility project work started in 1990 when Sharad Pawar was CM, he during his CM period completed most of land acquisition work. Work continued when first Shivsena+BJP Government was in power in 1995. Mr. Nitin Gadkari is master executer of the Project but it was completed during first Cong+NCP Government when Late Vilasrao Deshmukh was CM and went live in Year 2002. Above all, No One from above Leaders claimed that it was their Project, probably no one used to highlight that earlier like today’s.

Amazingly simplistic description. About the project, this was long due. Hopefully we Indians don't misuse the bridge and done start stopping along for selfies and create more traffic problems.
I have always thought that merging NH4 with the Mumbai Pune Expressway and still keeping road only three lanes wide was the only design flaw in the entire project. It is great to see it being addressed now. A brief comment on the video : Please don't play the music (and that too so loud) during the video, specially when you have text being shown on the screen. It would be far better if you actually speak it out.
Between Bangalore and Hubli main road ; Gabbur toll -to- Narendra approx 30 kms is also a bit risky narrow road. It has been said recently that it would be made a 6 lane road

Worthy of praise all this construction. The Govt is doing what it should be doing. But when will the citizen of India learn lane discipline and road discipline. Only then can we drive safely and cut down the travel time.
2023 target seems impossible at current pace, they haven't even started building the cablestayed bridge which always takes a long time. Probably won't start before 2025.

Inaugurated in 2002 , in 2022 we are making again a 'missing link ' . 20 yrs later we will again clear some forest for another ' missing link'. Did anyone notice the bald patches right in between dense forest. Konkan Sahyadri are one of their kind forest area. Megaprojects design must also have vision of decades.And in my opinion more roads is not the solution for traffic/ avoiding accidents. Efficient and likable public transport is.

MSRTC Earned more than 20000 crore Rupees( one vehicle every 2 seconds on road with average 250 Rs One way Toll) from the Toll since 1997 .... Spending 6700 crore for new line is very small... Imagine how much more Toll they will charge on the name of this new shortcut... Half of Toll money goes in Politicians pocket and Governments high authority officers...

Hi, But didn't understand why there was speed sensor camera install on Mumbai Pune Express Way. We know to stop over speeding but then What is the use of express way if you can't drive beyond 80 and some places even 40 as well.. Please highlight this point so we will get some answers..
I searched on Google to find if Pune is indeed the cultural capital of India. But it is written everywhere that it is Kolkata which is considered the Cultural Capital of India. Rest of the video is quite good. Except that it is difficult to believe that they would complete it by March 2023. If they do it would be a good achievement.
The major and consistent problem is actually overloaded trucks. In the ghat area, due to overloading and bad maintainence, they can't climb very well and then they block all 3-4 lanes which leads to no other way for cars or buses which travel much faster. People who travel regularly can understand what I'm saying.
Request you to add another video: maybe edit the same as the progress now is very far ahead. But delivery timelines i think is dec 2023. Thanks for the video

You should travel from Baroda to Ahmedabad. The quality of the Tarmac is any day better than the Mumbai Pune Expressway.
