The “don’t get a nem in a new tank” saying is just about the experience of the person. I’ve been reefing since I was a child and put a BTA in my freshly cycled (2 week old) tank and it’s doubled in size
I like your comment. I just finished setting up a 125 gallon marine tank. I have 2 traditional ocellaris clowns, 2 snowflake ocellaris clown, 2 shrimps and about 20 hermit crabs. I moved them all from a 40 gallon. When can I get an anemone? People tell me to wait a year, but I don't know.
I agree! I believe as long as the reefer is able to maintain stable water parameters, the nem will be happy and healthy. I think people say that because they have a lack of experience, and blame the death of an early introduced anemone on the anemone's inability to acclimate. But in reality, it is their lack of maintaining a stable environment as a new reefer
Loved the video I work at a pet store myself im the fish guy I've had many freshwaters and dont have the space for a 75gallon salt yet so this was the perfect video on setting up a smaller tank atm... thanks and just subscribed so looking forward to more
Anemone-only tanks are VASTLY underrated. I’ve done the whole stony coral thing, and got sick to death of constantly fretting over KH and pH and calcium and magnesium etc etc. Bubble tip anemones look just as good as any coral and in my experience are hardy as hell.
Tried it, my anemone grabbed the food for another anemone... and that was after it had already fed. Overnight it vomited its entire stomach into the nano tank... imagine digestive juices all over a small tank. yeah didn't wake up in time for the nightmare I had woken up to. Everything in the tank died due to the toxic buildup. Couldn't flush that stuff out of them. :(. Nanos with anemone = highly risky.
I am doing the same with my 13 gallon nano. I currently have a clarki, a rose bubble tip, and orange tip anemone so far. Tank has been running since October 2020.
Great video. I also do the same methods when starting a new tank or frag tank on its filtration system. Just pull some live rock out from the sump. Get some old water from your tank during the water change and instant aquarium with the help of live sand for extra biodiversity. Nice anemone tank!!👍🏼👍🏼
Did you add something for additionally flow? What size pump did you use? What are you running in the back overflow for filter/bio? I read in the comments carbon anything else? Guessing filter sock?
Just want to ask if you have skimmer how long for me to change the woter? Im planting to have one but i want to study about the skimmer i dont have that match knowledge about it. Thank you.
A little late, but the flow from the return will be more than sufficient in a tank that size. Anemones don’t need much flow. Sticking a wavemaker or powerhead or whatever in a tank full of anemones is asking for trouble unless you are committed to protecting (with an anemone guard) and cleaning them often - UA-cam has got plenty of examples showing what happens if an anemone “walks” into an unprotected powerhead.

yep
If you can prevent swings in elements and keep temp, SG and light stable. all will be good.

You make this look so easy but of course you did a lot of background things to make it look effortless.

Beautiful setup

Beautiful tank! Update please, I am thinking of doing the same thing :)
Just want to ask if you have skimmer how long for me to change the woter? Im planting to have one but i want to study about the skimmer i dont have that match knowledge about it. Thank you.
No skimmer just some carbon in the chamber and water changes weekly or every other week
Thank you so much.
What size pump you have in there any wave makers or power heads?
Will that window be a problem with algae
Do you run a powerhead or have you upgraded the return pump for more flow

Is this tank still going ? If it is I’ll shoot you a light shade for that Kessil A80. Let me know 👍🏻
What are you settings on your light
Thanks for your video. I’m trying to find all the resources I can to build a sustainable anemone nano. From beginning to ecosystem. So thank you
Hey brother , love the content! Where did you get that diy new box?? That’s perfect!
If your referring to the clear nem box I used it’s from target!
Beware.... That sand might send you into a new mini cycle. Nice tank regardless
What kind of light is this you have on the tank?
Kessil A80
You guys aren't going to Aquashella are you?
We will be there!
Wondering how come only 1 clown? I’d be lonely in there if I was clown fish lol
Clowns get pretty big quick also maroon clownfish are tough to pair and this little guy was solo when I got him!
Wow before and after
Hola amigo. Hablas muy bien el español. Me suscribo a tu canal a través de Ppnaker. Like.
