Great university and great course! To actually leave uni with these beautiful complete models is amazing. I got my BEng hons but not in car design. I would love to upgrade my degree with car design modules.
Really brilliant stuff, hope to attend a similar study after finishing my current study. Thank you for these uploads, they inspire me so much. Can you maybe name a few of your favorite automotive design studies?
You're welcome man! Pleased to inspire you ;) There a number of schools for aspiring vehicle designers. I cover most of my favorites on www.formtrends.com
I've finished a BSc in Transportation Design few years agoo in italy, the school didn't have many connections with industry, and until now it has been difficult to find an opportunity to work in this field. I just turned 26 and, living in the UK, i am seriously thinking to get a master in Automotive Design at Coventry. Do yu have any tips for getting in it? do you think is it too late for me (being 26 and having experience just in other fields of design)?
There's no such word like late for study, follow your passion everyone says that which is true after the Phase of job / work satisfaction. Wrong field despite of good money won't give you inner joy. But still you can go for product design / industrial design. Keep your skills sharp don't lose hope. Age is just a number.
If you have the portfolio to back up your ambition (and can afford to live in London) I'd strongly recommend applying to the RCA. It's a smaller program with a lot of high-level alumni, which would give you a leg up in this extremely competitive business. Best of luck!
there are some really cool designs. just a pity that 99% of them with never see the start of a production line. i prefer to design my cars to be production ready. heck if i am asked to do a design for a big company, it'll probably take 2-3yrs from paper to finished product, mind you, it won't be a rushed job. that doesn't necessarily mean that i have never taken my time in doing a design right. I wish i could be there.
Yes. Ultimately what you'll need to gain entry is a strong portfolio showing your zest for design and ability. It doesn't need to be perfect. That's why you're applying to school. But vision and desire go a long way. Good luck!
I want to become car designer because I have obsessive passion about that from 8th std....But in india design college fees is too much high..Around 3000dollars because there are less colleges of car design in india😩
Not even that. I think all this futuristic designs are not beautiful. Interesting? Yes. Eye-pleasing? Nope. I think in that terms of aesthetics we have reached the perfect car design. Cars in the style of Aston Martin DBS are the most beautiful.

Coventry and RCA doesn't require a really high level portfolio. I believe you can make it into these two unis easily!
