Really nice vid bro, the skis came out great. good choice building them in the warm weather so the epoxy can cure properly. there are people twice your age who cant build skis so be proud of what you accomplished!! be safe on the slopes and have fun
pretty awesome!!! you went all out even metal rig and air pressure... I am going to make a snowboard pretty soon and this was great... what did you use for metal edging
@@alexpiguillem1441 unfortunately can't post pictures on commets on UA-cam, I will make a video of it on my channel, but was going to wait until almost winter to release it becuse not too many people watch snowboarding stuff in summer
So I made a pair of snow skates with varying success last year. my biggest issues were core misalignment and cutting the bottom sheets. could you give me any tips? I am going to try and build a full size pair this year and the advice would be supremely helpful.
Why did you make such soft skies if they aren’t twintip Awesome and creative way to make skies, would love to se you make more maybe with other materials print or shapes
If you want to buy a good set of twin tips it will cost you around $450 he made this i think for around $380 But its all about the experience nobody can tell he made his own ski's :)
@@steefdewaard6947 I think what he is trying to say is that the overall cost is higher, the materials per se may be cheaper, but look at all the equipment/power tools needed to make them, that's a cost too, that and also time/experience, skis already made are as optimized as they can be, probably the first few pairs that somebody will make will be crap compared to bought skis, so overall it's just cheaper to buy. And overall yea it's about the experience, would be dope running the park in your own skis, if I had that equipment I would totally give it a shot, probably even opens a new area to the sport.
once that press is made, you can keep using the form for unlimited $50 skis. glue is the priciest thing in there. you can make new, improved forms for cheap. make skis for your family.. even if you have no intention of selling stuff, this is awesome.
Ik it's late but it looks like an old heavy duty hose, like a fire hose or something similar. He filled it with air to apply equal pressure and let the epoxie cure
Looks cool. Neutral camber? How can this be controlled, in the mold?, steam bending the wood core? Also, I figured the metal edges would have been more difficult to install.
Hello, I was planning on making myself a pair of skis over the summer as a fun project, and I cannot seem to find any help on the internet, so I was hoping I could ask the maker of this video/ the homemade skis for help.
Makes homemade skis* Throws on bindings that are worth enough to buy cheap discontinued decent skis and bindings* Still gets my respect because the skis turned out great*
You obviously like skiing dynastar... I saw 4 dyns against the wall and no other brand. If you stay in that particular industry, you could be a millionaire by 30 as a ski manufacturer and more...
now lets see you ride those....

Man I just subscribed because I need to see you skiing on those. Good job mate!
Very clever and good work but that cost way more than buying a decent pair of proper skis
.
What price do you mean by decent?

My dad made his skis too and they are working fine
This is amazing well done!!!👌👍😄
thanks
Nice, and now you are a custom ski designer/builder
Could i possibly have the templates for the molds ? and what type of wood you use ?
I don't have any templates sorry. I used maple and poplar
Awesome freakin jobs tho
Damn sixteen now seventeen or close to it at least now. I’m impressed now to make a mini ski park
Thats a great built! How scared were you to test them for the first time?
very good man
did you put in the press one ski every time?
and didn't you put in the core aluminioum plate?
Budget?
Yo that press was soooo extra
Hey eh, kunde gij der geen voor ons make jonguh?
How did you go about figuring out how to build this yourself? I'm just curious
Hey I'm trying to make a pair of skis for my seinor project (it's an Idaho thing) and I was wondering what epoxy you used
So.. wheres homemade?
Thats just too good
Hi, where did you get the metal strip material?
i am baguette
me too
That is awesome
Bio based epoxy resin - cool.
What materials did you use for the skis?
Chris Davis Maple and Poplar
Wow, really impressive, how old r u man ?
thanks, i'm 16
really cool am skier in mn want to make skis for a school project
I would try and make skis like the Norwegians did long ago, it's way easier than this, but I'm pretty sure you are capable of doing this!
hi nice video , how much did u have paid for all stuff ?
the ski materials are around $200 and then the press depends on how you build it
where have you buy your fire hose, i don't arrive to find big diameter
Northwestern tools
Any industrial hose shop and many farm supply stores.
Nice job bro
thanks

好勁!Awesome!
Great Video! I am getting ready to build my second pair of Skis, sure would like to talk I have a few questions? without a public conversation. Thanks
song names?
I would snap those things first time out. There is a reason ski companies put so much time and money into testing and engineering .
calla nen
Gg man
And if yes how much
Would you be willing to sell me a pair
Wow
Ew why tf u didnt make them twintip
they dont have to be park skis even though thats what I would have prefered
thats right i respect this but why there even is such a thing as non- twintip?? no sense
you can push your turns harder without loosing the tails if they're flat. Are you by any chance 12?
Twintips add drag, there's a reason why race skis have flat tails
Why this song
is cool ehh?
