  • Wat Chedi Luang, meaning "Temple of the Big Stupa," is a historic Buddhist temple in the heart of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Built in the 14th and 15th centuries, its towering chedi once stood 82 meters tall but was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545. The temple housed the revered Emerald Buddha before its relocation to Laos. Today, visitors can admire its grand ruins, explore its sacred grounds, and participate in daily "monk chats" to learn about Buddhism and Thai culture. Wat Chedi Luang remains a significant cultural and spiritual landmark in Chiang Mai.
