- The Ford Explorer Sport Trac was a unique vehicle of its production time from 2000 to 2010, and later succeeded by the Ford Ranger. It was the first mid sized pick up truck Ford made and shared its chassis with the SUV variant. After 2010, Ford decided to split the Ford Explorer and Ford Ranger in its respective categories and serving their own evolutions, meanwhile, experiencing economic pressure and substantial low demand, Ford discontinued the Sport Trac.
This vehicle is the first generation with first model year, having 146,000 miles at the time of filming.

@@phinphan1467 I'd say check the frame for rust, the cab mount bushings, and maybe have the tranny checked out. Sport Tracs are notorious for the trannies going out.

I’ve always liked these, although I think Ford was really pushing it fully not updating it for the ‘04 & ‘05 model years. The second gen’s were okay.
Wish they had these in manual, really thining about trading it for a ranger

Over 333K. Have replaced starter and front brake pads. Not a rattle or squeak anywhere.

I stole drive one of these, switched motor to 5.0 v8 then 5.8 v8 though
this is may ford explorer 2001 model, its ok

Buy it at that price, a deal. Have a 2005 since new. Had simeone come to my door and begged to buy it for 5000. Not as good of condition as that one. There are no small trucks left on the market. The price is going up. Have seen them ask 10,000.
Looks like ot needs shock, normal. The 4 L timing chains have issues around 200000 miles and cost a ton to fix. Check for death rattle.
