My cat was depressed when our dog died. He didn't eat or do anything. When we brought our new dog back home he ran straight to her. You could see that he was happy again he was around her all the time and sleeped next to her like he did with our other dog

I had two cats, Bronx and Luna. Bronx had cancer and before we knew about it, Luna, who was usually a very solitary cat, spent nearly every moment with him. She even would randomly grab a mouthful of food and bring it to him and drop it in front of him. We took him to the vet and they told us the news. They said he was suffering so we opted to put him to sleep. When we got back, Luna noticed he wasn’t with us and began searching around us trying to find him. Once she realized he wasn’t there, she spent the next 3 weeks under the bed where Bronx spent most of his final days. She would let out these long sad meows and only came out to eat or use the bathroom. It was heartbreaking to see.

Be aware of how amazing being a human is truly the surface level is we are here to fend for ourselves but inside we are incredible science and you are your only self. An example I like to refer to is people who have lost a limb, it puts in perspective how technical and advanced our minds are when they have prosthetics made that reads our minds intentions through ultra sound.. i know that’s a bit of a ramble on my part but that’s not even the tip of the ice berg when the key to being happy is loving who and what you are, maybe you should look into it further and take some steps to increase your daily wellbeing.
