Morley Harpsichord Demo

This is a John Morley double manual harpsichord from 1969, rebuilt by me. 2x8, 1x4, with lute and mute stops. Serial number 1800. This is tuned to A440, which I forgot to mention in the video.
No missing strings or plectra - everything works! Of course, if you are going to own an instrument like this, you need to learn to tune and repair it!

Morley used birch plywood, topped with pine veneer, for the soundboard. The underside often sprayed with white paint. Certainly, no cracking expected. It still sounds just as good as traditional quarter sawn spruce soundboard.
