Amazing :) This is reason why i store "spiritual" books in column in my room (not basement). And sometimes it causes "book avalanche" and right book i just need now end up by my feet. And i often find answers i just now need, on the first page, when i randomly open that book.

I get mad at myself for my confusion/past, but I see this era as my way of redefining my image, and the path of least resistance to my dreams will manifest over time. I really don't see much of a future for humanity, but I am totally on board for everything else this man has to say. He knows...and the greatest beauty of all, is the fact that I know he knows. I'm there....I need to work on it, be more diligent on working on presence all the time but I get it totally and from the moment of that realization my life changed forever. Love the idea that we’re not manifesting through consciousness rather we’re letting go so that consciousness can use us to manifest whatever it has to. Wow. This is relieving. But then that was already happening in pre egoic societies. ?
We have to transcend the selfish/negative/illusory ego... selfish spirituality is imitation spirituality... ego isn't spiritual at all... the first step on the spiritual path is to get rid of the ego... peace to you all... 😇😇
My friend taught me Wuji and how to get rid of the ego. 90% of people are being controlled and they can't feel that they are giving instead of receiving.
If we are ever going to survive on this planet, we have to keep our egos in check. Presence is needed. Don't forget to mark a special day on your calendar: World Ego Awareness Day (WEAD) is on May 11th of this year, Namaste.
The ego is necessary to survive, and it is also part of the universe like everything. There is nothing wrong with the ego, but being driven by ego leads to dissatisfaction/suffering (dukkha). Without any ego at all, one wouldn't eat, breathe, or want to do anything physically. Even the most awakened human feels hungry and when they do, they go eat. Or thirsty. Or they will gasp if oxygen is removed. This survival instinct of ours is manifested within what we call the ego. Observe and accept ego, it is a part of You, but it is not you.
The ego does not even exist. If one wants to say an illusion is part of you this is okay though, until it is transcended. And it must be transcended to avoid insanity and tremendous suffering.
@@Bobsbigbuoy Illusions are real, they just aren't what it appears as. A mirage of an oasis in a desert isn't a body of water but it is real as a play on light. I agree egos must be transcended. Egos/thoughts are a tool. They are a great servant but not the master (that is the illusion). Egos/thoughts aren't "I" or "me", that is the illusion. Search "Rupert Spira" and "ego is the agency of creativity".

the ego is our interface with this reality. make it as close to your soul as possible, and it will not develop as a toxic foe. Make it your friend and it doesn,t control you anymore. observe your mind long enough, you will SEE the ego. that is what happened to me, and it gives access to a larger reality. Know thyself and you will know the universe and the gods... It does what it says on the tin.
The ego mind isn’t an enemy or anything it’s just a limitation that is in front of the infinite awareness self. Strangest thing is you can realize the real self hundreds of times and the ego will form in front of it almost instantly. Some grow gradually into realization, some instantly are cured permanently from the ego and some superficially retain ego against a background of unchanging awareness, some will actually be liberated at the death of the body nobody can explain the ways of what can occur at all we just believe we know things.
The seed of what will be a tree has to go through several growth processes to finally become a big tree. That is the destiny of the seed. The destiny of the human being is the awakening of consciousness. It is part of nature.

Gurdjieff was very adamant about the accuracy of language. He didn't like to use the word ego, because in Ancient Greece it meant the True Self. Instead he made a distinction between false personality and true personality. Flase personality was at best useless and at worst destructive, but regardless preventing awakening. True personality was in service of True Self, and a protective layer. He compared false personality to a moss slowly choking the life out of a tree, and true personality to the bark of the tree, protecting the tree and while external and more superficial to the organism of the tree, still a necessary part of the tree.

If the ego is an important part of the process, for me, then it is for another also. Therefore we interact with others with compassion because we understand this deeply, which creates work for us. The work is our own ego creeping back into things, things where for instance we wish to change how others live because we, supposedly free from ego, 'know better' than them about how we should live with or without this technology, that technology. The 'seeker' that falls into this trap is perhaps worse than the unconsciously trapped in ego, because they think they know better, when in reality they are falling for just another more elaborate deception. It is also interesting how those who make an awful lot of money from herding others from one technology to another, which often raises poverty and suffering, so often couch their business proposals in so called enlightened language, this is no longer called propaganda, since the propagandists renamed it as Public Relations. Those propagandists were and still are, in bed with the corporations that do this and they both benefit at the expense of others, in monolithic proportions. Navigating this tapestry is an art form in which we all need a little luck and forgiveness.

I slightly disagree with Eckart about the ego. The ego is negative; its never satisfied. It seeks self-pity, self-importance, self-boosting. When we identify the ego in us, we are able to separate from it and become free. So, in that sense, the ego is wrong and is serious.
Awakening to what? What should one awaken to? The ego is real to those caught in the illusion. The ego is non existent to those who grasp the nature of the illusion. Those who are caught in the illusion are their thoughts. I’ve heard many people commenting on Tolle videos use the phrase, “you are not your thoughts”… well, that is not truth for a person stuck in the illusion of ego!!!

The ego is necessary to survive, and it is also part of the universe like everything. There is nothing wrong with the ego, but being driven by ego leads to dissatisfaction/suffering (dukkha). Without any ego at all, one wouldn't eat, breathe, or want to do anything physically. Even the most awakened human feels hungry and when they do, they go eat. Or thirsty. Or they will gasp if oxygen is removed. This survival instinct of ours is manifested within what we call the ego. Observe and accept ego, it is a part of You, but it is not you.
The ego does not even exist. If one wants to say an illusion is part of you this is okay though, until it is transcended. And it must be transcended to avoid insanity and tremendous suffering.

If the “ego” is the self image, which is an illusion created by thoughts,, and “awakening” is seeing this false self for what it is, then why do we need a process? If a person sees the substance of which comprises the ego, then it’s over, there is no process, right? Does not the seeing of the illusory nature of the ego immediately bring ego to an end? If a person is identified with the image, then the ego is in place, and that person is unaware that they are attached to the image “ego”? Isnt that person living in the illusion of a false mind made self?

Gurdjieff was very adamant about the accuracy of language. He didn't like to use the word ego, because in Ancient Greece it meant the True Self. Instead he made a distinction between false personality and true personality. Flase personality was at best useless and at worst destructive, but regardless preventing awakening. True personality was in service of True Self, and a protective layer. He compared false personality to a moss slowly choking the life out of a tree, and true personality to the bark of the tree, protecting the tree and while external and more superficial to the organism of the tree, still a necessary part of the tree.

If the ego is an important part of the process, for me, then it is for another also. Therefore we interact with others with compassion because we understand this deeply, which creates work for us. Navigating this tapestry is an art form in which we all need a little luck and forgiveness.

I slightly disagree with Eckart about the ego. The ego is negative; its never satisfied. It seeks self-pity, self-importance, self-boosting. When we identify the ego in us, we are able to separate from it and become free. So, in that sense, the ego is wrong and is serious.

The ego is real to those caught in the illusion.
The ego is non existent to those who grasp the nature of the illusion.
Those who are caught in the illusion are their thoughts.
I’ve heard many people commenting on Tolle videos use the phrase, “you are not your thoughts”… well, that is not truth for a person stuck in the illusion of ego!!!
