  • Alex Pittin, former French Alpine Ski Team member and Tony Lamiche, former French rock climbing and ice climbing champion, have turned steep slopes into their preferred playground. Ski-mountaineering, steep-slope skiing, extreme skiing are disciplines rarely practiced, but brought to near-perfection by the two athletes. There's a reason why Tony & Alex prefer to call it "mountain skiing"; it requires going down steep slopes that certain people climb, it also requires a lot of technical knowledge, as well as a good understanding of this unique environment.

    Incredible technical skiing. Thanks for showing so much of that and not the usual endless face shots.

    Incredible movie. I love how the emphasis is on this beautiful relationship between Alex and Tony. Fantastic background of course but the real star is the human relationship. Sweet music and great editing. Bravo les gars et les gazelles.

    Does anyone know what type of ski poles they are using? At the end of the video the grips look like long foam. This skills took years to learn and I am sure they have had a few close call. I don't know anyone in their league. Much respect.

    that isn't even skiing why bother??? I see no enjoyment in that at all just the ego fullfillment of saying you did it first

    • @SamSoMite421
      @SamSoMite421 5 років тому +4

      This is extreme skiing, done by pros, and has nothing to do with egos. Ego is reserved for little insecure dudes like you that wouldn't last one turn in those conditions but see your self good enough to dis people that are way out of your league.

      @@jwb143 I have done a pretty decent number of steeps and couloirs in my skiing life of four decades, and still do. But this is way out of my league. I look forward to seeing your video ripping steeps.

    • @JakkeJakobsen
      @JakkeJakobsen 5 років тому

      "I'm better" "No, prove it". Grow up, enjoy the movie, go on with your lives. Maybe you'll ski steeps like this one day. I'll stick to powder and more normal 15°-40° terrain! Have fun and be careful out there!
