I think farthings are in better condition for 3 reasons, they are smaller, they were stored more and transacted less frequency. Also circulated until 1960 so max 100 years.
Lovely condition on some of those older coins, that 1864 was an absolute beauty.
Great video, and I'd like to see one on variants at some point
An abrupt end 😂💜🧚♀️
Two years unopened, your a very patient man. 👌
Enjoyed the show mate, can't beat the old copper's great stuff
Very creative with the date board! 😁 I haven't many of the older farthings, but a complete run of 1937-1956. To find that many 1860's in the first vid is unreal
Lovely video Paul can't wait for the varieties issue I'm still stuck on 1905 and 1935 apart from the Victorias lucky with the 1860
I don't see much of the farthing, so an interesting video! I also like the editing
There's nowt wrong with 1860 farthings lad! Actually Paul there are some nice early portraits there. A nice varied lot.
I love coins
i could do with you making me 2 of them board for my pennies any chance and how much pls
How much are these coins worth today please 👍
Great video
The farthing has always been my favourite denomination
Great Blue Peter job. 1864 a cracker. Fab video I really enjoyed it. Mintage for 1860? 👍😎🍀
Your video made me realise about one of my Queen Victoria farthings and how much it was worth I have been trying for a week or 2 thank you so much this is why I love your videos 😃
You worry about your writing, that's like printed text compared to mine. great vid.
The farthing and it's fractions and Imperial versions have been a favourite of mine for ever. I've a date run from 1806 onward and a good selection going back to James II
Like you, I prefer Brittania over the wren.
Tend to find Farthings are better condition than the penny and half penny counterparts simply because they have less surface area to handle
Oh the vanity of Victoria, the Young head nearly up to her death in 1901!!😆
I was so happy when this video turned up in my suggestions because I was just going for a nap and this helped me to get to sleep 😴
I love farthings, the condition of a lot of them is excellent.
Another denomination with lots many varieties. 👍
I'm surprised that the condition of the Victorian farthings are much better than the Victorian pennies. I would have thought that the farthings would have been used just as much, if not more than the pennies in Victorian times, but then gradually after the turn of the century when the farthing slowly started to decrease in value with respect to what it could purchase, I guess the pennies then were used more. Would be interesting to know how many of the 1860 farthings were minted.
Hi Chris. What I've learned about the condition of fartings is: Less surface area and as they are lighter they have lower friction when they come in contact with other coins. Plus they circulated 11 years less than the pennies.
Awesome hunt great start to filling the boards
neet little coins some of the older ones are in quite good shape
Very nice hunt. Thank you for sharing
Awesome hunt can't wait for the next one
little coppers are just as awesome !!
Loving these sort of videos.
Gotta love a farthing
Very nice. Was the smaller farthing minted from 1857? Only missing 2 from my date run....1892 & 1876. Looking forward to seeing the next video. Kiwi19 🇳🇿
I've got some good coins, 1862/1865 gothic Florin I found detecting I've got a stunning 1816 sixpence 1696 crown I've got a tub full of copper I don't even know where to start with .
All those 1860’s. Look’s like they been trying to make jewellery with the Farthing’s. Bring on part 2👌👍
Hi m8
Love watching the penny video's!!
Enjoyed watching the farthings ones just as much
I do like your videos so interesting haven’t be able to but hopefully will watch more also I love your d i y coin boards thanks 😊
Just wanted to ask if george iii one pennys that sell for around 5-10 pound are real as the more i look the harder it is to find ther true value. If anyone could answer it would help lots!
I have a nice collection of Farthings and have the 4 different versions of the 1953 👍
If only the pennies would survive circulation in the same condition as most farthings do
I collect Farthings, but I'm doing a type set, rather than date run. Lots of varieties and different monarchs etc. These coins do seem to be in tidy nick
Hi mate been left.loads of coins round 700 what would u say I did with them
Thanks, Paul for doing a farthing hunt, What is the meaning of the Wren on the later coins?
Hi Paul, I like your penny videos but I just love it when you do other denominations! We don't get those that often (you did farthings once before and also shillings etc.) but are that much more interesting when we do get them.
Cool to see your design process for the boards. I particularly liked your "colour inversion" trick! As for the farthings, very cool stuff. Seems like you need to buy some albums ;)
The condition on these batch of coins was particularly impressive. I also note they continued to mint the farthing . When there was a hiatus with the penny 23-26. Look forward to part two & many others too
The Britannia looks better than the bird that look like a Kiwi
Loving the Farthing's! 👍👍👍
That was blue peter meets coin hunt. Loved it!
get on your penny farthing [bike] lol
Farthings are such a sweet little coin
Lots of gaps in my date run of these
I have a 19 20 one penny how much it worth
Another interesting hunt, thanks Paul.
Please move that 1907 from the 1909 spot
loved the prep shown it gives me ideas.
I love the little birdies farthing
I love the farthings I have 99% of them, Still needing one or two of the different variety's, And soon has i get my printer installed i will be making some of them boards for the different denominations....Great Video Regards Mark
Cool to see you make the board
📽️👍👍👍👍✌️
Nice hunt...love it
🍺👍🏻
Great video Paul. The board is filling up nicely 😁. I'm looking forward to learning about the different variants 😊👍. Congratulations on reaching 8K subs, brilliant achievement 👏👏 🥳🎉🎉.
I love farthings. They may not be that valuable, but there is definitely something about collecting them. And how many 1860 farthings did you get? I've never seen that many before
Tnk you!
“Top of the shop”!! Nice to hear your playing‘Farthing Bingo’ too Paul
Well we achieved a line, hopefully get a few more in the next one as well.
Great stuff Coin Patrol 👍🏻
Nice little hunt. You made great progress in filling the board.
How did you sit on those for so long and not go through them? 😮 good hunt and info. Stay safe buddy
Yet another fantastic video Paul. Pre decimal British copper & bronze coins are a great medium to collect. I am old enough to remember using Farthings to buy sweets. Yes it's surprising how Farthings seem to be in much better condition than the Pennies.. Keep up the good Paul, you make an old man very happy
Hi Keith,
I was born in 1956 the year they were last minted and four years before they demonetarised, but I do remember 4 'blackjacks were a 1d. So I expect they were a farthing each before then?
@@peterperigoe9231 Me 1949 yes originally black jack's 8 for a penny. Good to see Paul's video, it brought back many childhood memories
Fantastic creativity and great to see the farthings don’t even think I have one farthing 😆
Hi Paul, great to see another pre decimal hunt. If you ever get the time, a video on the different variations would be helpful.
