Love the main message of this video. I work in ecological restoration and with climate change on the horizon... We're in a race to save everything from extinction and extirpation.
Those G. multiradiatus are stunning! I like it when you two fishheads do tours this way - we get different perspectives of both the fishroom and the fishkeeper.
I am glad he is trying and somewhat succeeded in saving many wonderful species....it would be ashamed to lose them....only mankind can save them....remarkable.
Great video. I’m going to get into the CARES fish very soon in fact I have been watching all Andrew videos and will be talking to him regularly along with the Facebook groups and clubs. Like you said research the keeping of these fish it’s not something to take lightly. I can’t wait to get my fishroom back up and running the way I want it
That is so awesome! I would love to take in a CARES species one day. Dea at Down the Wormhole (channel on youtube) has the Ameca Splendens as well, and does videos on them occasionally too.
Just amazing!!! So with these species being so rare and so unknown in the hobby how would us fish keepers that want to get some of these species go about it....
I think a good place to start is research and find who keeps the species you are interested in helping while gaining experience through working with a similar but common species. Look for a local fish club to join too. Fish clubs are a good place place to find hard to come by species. CARES have a fb group you can join and ask questions on as well.
I've got Xenotoca Lyonsi. There were randomly found at a LFS in Fort Worth ,Tx. Seemed like it was owned by an Asian family, the salesman didn't speak English very well referring to the fish simply as goodies.
Thanks for sharing ! Love Andrews channel ! I have some goodeids aswell. Love them. If you want to see a Skiffia multipunctata giving birth check out my video. 🌱🐠✌🏼️
