I played with usman for randwick petersham at age 15 for greenshield, back then he was the most feared and naturally talented batsmen coming through junior cricket . David warner then was just a leg spin bowler and lower order batsman lol

Usman khawaja has been overlooked by Langer. I remember his last ODI series vs Ind in which he scored many many runs but after that he was not brought back to team, injustice done to him
I believe Usman Khuwaja is literally not spoken person. That’s his weakness you should stand for yourself. He was finding himself a lone and strange among the natives. But that’s shouldn’t be his life style. Team player is very important factor when it comes to work many people come to achieve one goal.
In test Usman looks still inconsistent player. He edges the ball too often and he cant play spin well. In tough situation or when wickets tumble on other side he gets out soon. Just like Stoinis he is a good bigbash player but struggles in international cricket. Yep he played well in that odis against india and he should have been given few more chance in subcontinent in odis but in tests he needs to improve alot.

He's played 21 innings against England and has a 30 average against them. He has a 28 run average against India and a 35 run average against South Africa. Usman has only really scored a lot of runs from teams like WI, Pakistan and New Zealand. He struggles against the tougher teams and thats when Australia needs him the most. He's been given a lot of opportunities. Two summers ago, he could've performed against India when Australia needed him. He also completely struggled in the Ashes; whereas Marnus was a key player. If you were to put him in the team, who would be replaced?
It's a shame he wasn't given a red hot crack as an opener- I'd rather him than Burns personally, especially with Labuschagne and Smith as right hand bats at 3 and 4 respectively.

Although, people might say how can you be happy (for your opponent) if you are on the losing side, but, believe me, this will give you inner peace and will only be beneficial for you (and your team) in the long run.

Although I will say it was a disgrace that he was no longer played as an opener after his incredible series against Pakistan. But for now, he is out of form and most likely past it sadly. The problem is that Marnus replaced him like for like as a middle order test batsman unfortunately.
