carclain you can still contact police departments on their non emergency number regarding cases...how do you think police get tips from the public? this bag could have easily been connected to a robbery or possibly even a murderer (unlikely but you never know) who ditched the evidence. the fact it was weighted down with a rock means it was intentionally sunk for a reason. there are plenty of other videos on youtube where divers find a gun and have turned it into the police on the chance it could be connected to a case.

My finds are about 90% costume and 10% valuable. 14k, 10k, 18k, sometimes 22k gold, rarely actual diamond jewelry, ruby jewelry, sapphire, jade, low grade small diamond, etc. I find a lot of earring backings(to hold earring post in place. Many are 10-14k gold. Many rings, earrings and even an 18k gold semi-precious stone bracelet in the shopping center I go to(found 3 years ago). It's weird, like jewelry finding me and not the other way around. Have containers filled with this stuff. I seem to be much more likely to find valuable jewelry when: I am in a bad mood, was ripped off by someone in some way, went out of my way to help someone else(karma), or became suddenly depressed or freaked out about a recent event.. GO FIGURE!!
