      that would be great for you to do a painting of maria shiemeh! i have not gotten around to painting one yet but have drawn cats my whole life - well since i could draw anyway. lol actually i'm not really doing much more with wc than playing with it. i used to oil paint but it's too messy for my situation now so i thought surely i could wc but it's backwards from oils & not being easy for me to do what i want to do. with pencils, pens & oils i have control but not wc so i need to get over needing that to feel an artist with them. lol
      have a lovely day.

      Wc and oils are may favorite mediums, but i have to agree with you, oils are a bit more manageable. In wc you have to make everything in fast pace and finish your work in one seating or in an organized schedule.. Well, every medium has their own pros and cons and our preference and ways in hadling reflects our character and artistry. 😊

      @@AllanJayQuesada you could use loose half pans, put a little sticker on the back (orange is prof, green is cotman, pink is china), then mix them on the table so you don't know anymore which is which, and then use one piece of paper for each swatch, put swatches for each color in best to worst order and do a big reveal when you turn them around at the end to see the sticker color.
      Not sure how this would work for the apples and color wheel.

    After seeing your video on W & N China, I spoke to a friend in China who teaches traditional painting. According to him, binders used as well as pigments, are formulated more towards use on Xuan with ink. I doubt you’ll find a painter in China who will combine primaries to make gray or black when they have high quality inks they can use. The alizarin crimson W & N, according to 2 painters I know, was the most purposeful in the sense when Marie’s changed their formula for A Crimson..let’s just say there were some angry artists. Of course, we still have our paint chips; but for convenience and convenience colors, many still use Marie’s while recommending a replacement like WN for A Crimson.😊

    Hello! Nice video, very interesting and helpful. I want to ask you how do they flow? Do they move well or stay doing nothing? Did you find them difficult to use because their composition? How do they dry? Any chalkiness? Thanks for your review!

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  4 роки тому +3

      Hi! Both Cotman and Pro are thin on paper so they move better than china. Not exceptional movement though like Qor but, they're fine. The pro moves better because it's more pure i think, and less 'extenders'. Thr chjna version can be the hardest to deal with because of its inconsistent texture from the tubes. You need to mix them well before use. They dry well. But the china, because of some pigment and binder separat5, can give you glossy finish if you dont mix well. No chalkiness in these sets. ☺️ You may also watch my individual reviews of these sets. Thank you! 🙏🎨

That I couldn't get real bright greens and purples using the med blue and med red. It was when i discovered myself that it was impossible to achieve it with the 3 primaries that we were taught.
