We pick ours up next month, gonna be awesome!!!!! Having built my own previously, I know what it takes to build something of such good quality, well done Mark!!!
Thank you. We have a great crew who takes pride in their workmanship. These videos are nice but they don't do justice to the refinement of Bean. I cant wait for you to see yours in person! Thank you for your confidence in us.
Luv Bean...the one piece shell design; the layout; price point for Black Bean may seem high but it comes with so many durable features. I experienced Black Bean in GR Michigan recently...the two burner stove is incredibly durable n well designed.
Man I love everything about the black bean ! I’ve Been obsessed with it, Finding any vids, pics and info I can about it. Even building my dream build online for fun lol, ONE DAY I hope I can own one! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for for there newest 2022 model. Keep these vids coming guys. Love all the tech and features that have gone into these things !
I was hoping to find the special announcement in here! This anticipation for Overland Expo West is killing me. I love how this is your experimental trailer. Not only is it pushing the limits I can see how these experiments will influence upgrades in your other models as well. Can't wait to see that wood interior trickle down to the others. Or has it already?
We announce the option of a Cloud Suspension System. It is an air ride system that finally addresses the conflict between having a galley at a proper operating height while cooking and having exceptional ground clearance off road. In addition, it provides a much smoother ride than traditional trailer suspension systems with greater isolation from vibration thereby reducing wear and tear. From its lowest point on the bump stops the air suspension will raise the trailer 5" and combined with 33" tires will give you 23" of clearance. We will have more details on our website soon. I know that kind of thing is not your thing but I am positive you will be shocked at the smoothness of the ride and the operable height of the galley. We also introduced a side table that mounts to the spare cradle on Black Bean that is fantastic and greatly enhances the functionality of the galley.
@mark This is huge! And it actually is our thing a bit. Don't get me wrong if we can get down any trail we see I am not going to be dissapointed. We aren't opposed to higher clearance. We just are against it if it impacts the useability of the trailer. May and I kept wondering who was going to go to market first with this design. It just makes sense. You have the best of both worlds. Get out and play hard, but still have an ergonomic eating and sleeping space.
I see propane for heating, hot water and cooking, but I didn't hear how the electrical system/battery pack is powered. Is there a generator? Do the alternators charge the batteries? Do you need shore power to charge?
Love the new windows and the magnetic plates are a great space saving idea. Is the front storage just going to be a rack out tray? Have you done away with the slide out storage box in the front box?
It looks as if a lot of thought has gone into having useful features. I have a 2020 JL Rubicon with a V6 engine. Is the weight of this camper within recommended pulling parameters?
Stupid question here. What's the advantage of a teardrop, curved exterior instead of a more straight sided squarish camper? It seems like a squarish camper would be more roomy?
David, ironically our cabin has 20% more space (an additional foot of headroom) compared to most teardrop trailers. The dimensions are hard to figure out online unless you get in the trailers and see for yourself. Contrary to a squaredrop trailer, we custom fabricate Bean's famous one-piece fiberglass shell here in Salt Lake City, there are no seams along the roofline. This means no leaks, less maintenance, a trailer that will hold on to it's value over time, and a trailer that will last. It's important to note, most people that choose Bean over our competitors, are very impressed with our trailer's refinement, materials, and quality. We are the fasted growing teardrop manufacturer in the U.S for a reason. Come check us out sometime or give us a call :) 844-770-7036
@@BeanTrailer Wow, thank you for the considered reply. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a concrete jungle, NYC, without a car. The subway and my kickscooter are my only modes of transportation. Thanks for your interest in Bean! We currently sell factory direct here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most customers plan a trip out to Utah to pick up their trailer up and enjoy the National Parks nearby but shipping is an option.
Excellent walk a round, lots of money but you get what you pay for , you have to see them in person. Not made like other trailers made in the States. ( how did I do boss ? ;-)
@@richardhenry1969 Hmm, so you think the total price of the trailer should be around $10K? If you go to the 3:30 mark of the video, can you tell me the cost of those 4 lithium batteries, the Redarc Manager 30 system, and the inverter and the braking system in that box? Can you tell me the cost for that AC on the roof? Can you tell me the cost of Dometic frig in the galley and the cost of that Partner Steel 22" stove? How much is a Timbren 3500lb suspension? The list of windows, doors, and materials goes on and on. If you researched it you would find way more than $10K in components alone to say nothing about the cost to fabricate a one piece fiberglass shell trailer.
@@mark-di5pf so you listed $3000 worth of stuff you really believe the trailer cost so much to make. I find it funny you’re trying to justify $40,000 for a trailer a trailer that cost more then my 2018 Jeep with 4wheel drive. You need to do some research I’ve worked my whole life building things.
What off road worthy trailers with similar specs are more competitively priced? Why would I want to spend as much for a tent on a truck bed (Patriot X1) as I would on a hard sided one piece fiberglass shelled trailer? If you are going to end up enduring all the hassles of sleeping in a tent, why would I not just get a good ground tent and save a bunch of money. I can always cook out of the back of a vehicle. The advantage of a hard sided trailer like Bean is the quiet and refined cabin.
@@mark-di5pf Let's see, with the X1 you get a complete pull-out camp kitchen. Tons of storage space, a separate two burner cook top and separate Grill, Hot shower, backup batteries (plural), off-road suspension and off-road tires, and two LP gas tanks. Yes it's a tent on a trailer, but it's a very large tent with king size bed that folds up and is kept in an air tight compartment. Oh yeah, the entire trailer is air tight, so no dirt can get in. And yes, I would love to have a tent off the ground vs giving up all that massive space to house all the things I listed above. My point is, these Tear Drop trailers are cool but they should NOT cost as much as an extremely advanced and capable trailer like the X1. Not even comparable IMHO.
@@8654ZuluFoxtrot I get it , you like tents and military style trailers. The X1 is cool looking for sure. I, on the other hand, like to get a good nights sleep in a hard sided shell without waking up to wind flapping the tent fabric or hearing all the other sounds you hear in a tent. I am also not crazy about going down a ladder in the middle of the night to pee. I also prefer products from companies who are as proud to build their products in the USA, and create American jobs, as Patriot is to build their products over seas. Everything you mention that you liked about X1 and more is available on Black Bean(huge two burner stove, multiple lithium batteries, 2 LP tanks, off road suspension and tires including the option of a height adjustable air suspension, reinforced steel frame, Redarc Manager 30 battery management system, etc). Are you sure you watched the video or did you just extrapolate to Black Bean your preconceived opinions on what a teardrop trailer is, what it can do, and what it should cost? I noticed you did not answer my question of what other trailers with similar features and construction are more competitively priced?
@@mark-di5pf Yes, you can have about 1/4 the size of kitchen with all that stuff crammed in there. And yes, I watched the video. I don't hate the Tear Drop design, heck, I was watching it because I was considering buying it because I can't justify getting an X1. But when I saw the price of these when you equip them as best you can, well, they cost almost as much. Now when you say Patriot makes their products overseas, well yes, they do as they are an Australian company. But Americans make a living off of selling their products. If an American company could make something even close to on par with the build quality and features that Patriot does, then I would consider buying from them. The Tear Drop does have the advantages you speak of, being in hard sided enclosure, but the tent part of the Patriot camper, is very secure and sleeping in tents is really part of the whole experience of camping IMHO and something I enjoy. Not sure what noises you hear when out in the wilderness camping, other than nature. Like I said, I like the design, but I simply don't see why/how they justify the price for a box on wheels.

We have sold many Black Beans to 4 door Rubicon customers. They do have to watch tongue weight so you cant load it up too much.
Im interested to understand how the Dometic fridge works with the fan / heat exhaust enclosed in the trailer like that. Any issues with cooling?
How wide is the trailer from wheel to wheel
I have seen other videos with a different (full) window on the doors…while I love the porthole, is that a new option?

Can it be pulled by a regular four door car?
Great trailer, shame you do not sell them in the UK.
