    Note the RAM speeds was why it really didn't get the best I've seen from this chipset, it's only 5600 MT/s and the soldered on RAM can be up to 8000+ MT/s.

    • @smudgeous4068
      @smudgeous4068 7 днів тому

      It's not soldered. There are 2 sodimm slots underneath the bottom half of the heatsink. There are two square shaped tunnels in that lower half with screws at the bottom. If you remove those screws, the bottom half of the heatsink can lever up to provide access to the sodimm slots.
      My 16/512 configuration came with Adata CBDAD5S560016G-BHYZ RAM.
      Edit: to get access to it, I had to remove the rubber feet to get access to screws, both of the circular plastic pieces on the front/back, the plastic piece covering the ports on the side, then remove the ribbon cable for the LED ring on the back so I could push out the innards through the front

    Chris is the Gigachad of tech reviews. No lame intros, no bullshit, no begging for subscriptions, no sponsor segments. Not even trying to be funny

      🙏 Thank you. I do some sponsored videos unfortunately we have to nowadays with the Adsense rates so bad. But normally dedicated videos flagged as sponsored. Also no ad slots within videos normally I try to advoid it as that is horrible.

      @@Techtablets sponsored videos/segments are not too bad, you need to be able to even afford these gadgets to be able to review them for our pleasure. + all the time and effort it goes to plan, record and edit such reviews, it needs some recompensation!

    if you want to get in an external gpu there with this minipc i'm assuming that the 100W power delivery wont have to account for the gpu as well?...

    Do you plan / know to get the OneXGPU 2? I like it on paper, but the price is a lot as I only game at 1080p it probably is overkill. I have the GPD G1 2024 which I paid $466.46 US which at the time was £315 and I had no customs to pay. $829 for the first 72 hours if having signed up for the beta program then $899 after almost double the price that I paid.
    I wonder if its a repurposed OneXGPU 1 shell without access to the internals makes you think it's identical or an upsized model for production.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 місяці тому +1

      At this stage only if they were to send it to me. It’s too expensive I feel for an external mobile GPU. And I have now a proper mini Pc GPU Pcie x8 alot with the Beelink GTi14 Ultra + Dock.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 місяці тому

      Well ETA Prime has it. Of course they told me no stock they don't have any until the end of October. So check out his hands-on.

      @@Techtablets thanks for the info, also OKestGamer has a video up to, I've been following it on the discord channel and seems like his unit is being then sent onto the next person and so on. 74 units have sold so far.
      I'm not sure what they were planning but the streams ahead of the last minute vids before funding started were poor to watch. why do these internal videos never show a direct comparison.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 місяці тому +1

      They would ask they aren't compared. All the mini PC brands are screwing with me because they know i'm showing thermals point out throttling issues and so push me well down the list to get one. My Mini PC days are coming to an end. Minisforum lie to me that they have no stock, for get to send units and being jerks. All while I see everyone getting them...

      @@Techtablets Maybe gaming handhelds? Would be cool to see your review on them. I currently have a Legion Go, and soon (or not) the next gen of handhelds will be coming out, with the AMD Z2 extreme. And hopefully they're easy to resell after review

    There is a very good reason to get access to the internals. I wish youtubers, especially good ones, would stop giving excuses to these companies. Without access to the internals to do maintenance, this is just living on borrowed time. Fail.
    Shame.

    • @Techtablets

      Very hard to open, so yes a fail on upgradability. I normally open all tech but I would have destroyed it doing so. I don't like to damage my tech.

    Good review. But intel has fallen way behind as efficiency. Soldered ram-wifi is not good also gigabit lan on 2024 is no good. It should be at least 2.5gig.

    For the al in whopping prices, it is simply underwhelming and some of that video playback performance is embarrassing.

    • @Techtablets
      @Techtablets  2 місяці тому

      It’s disappointing but I’ve seen laptops with this chip playback super smooth so down to more optimisation I think.
