The 11 Chorale Preludes Op.122 were the last bits of music that Brahms composed. The entire collection is very serious, even in the happier parts, several of the hymns are on the topic of death. He was himself already terminally ill, and had lost several friends, including his beloved Clara Schumann. 'Mein Jesu, der du mich' is about having been chosen for eternal bliss. The stop list of this organ was made by the well-known Oskar Lindberg, a composer and organist from the region of Dalarna where Orsa is situated. On a romantic foundation more 'baroque' (read 'early organ movement') stops are added, although the latter are not used here.
