Thankyou this vid was fantastic and I enjoyed it so much it inspired me to start a channel and comment the first time ever. The carving of opal is beautiful and the jewellers balance of design is perfect. Polish is fanominal "it really is" and very difficult to achieve. I can appreciate the time it takes to achive results like this and it is a bench mark of quality in opal carving. Very happy to see this. I've never sold an opal but collect and carve opal. This was an exciting moment when I come across this vidio thanks Robert it's been inspiring to me !

Thank you for your feedback. Bruno was a highly skilled craftsman. It was a pleasure to share a little of that talent with other gemstone lovers. I only wished I could have done this video while he was still alive.

Hi Robert yes I agree that Bruno was an interesting and talented person and much missed by those that knew him. I'm inspired and I very much appreciated his work shown. His love of what he did is his legacy. It's very hard to have patience and it's learned as a skill, as repeating over work to get result imagined is no easy feat! But love has no boundaries and he was a master of his conection and flow as a creator!
I hope to be as good as Bruno one day and largely I've been carving mostly as there's just so much freedom to explore creativity. The man has left a mark on my mind and has left me with a faith of carving. I remember the bleeding hands hauling buckets and as a trade renderer I know bleeding fingers taped daily! I feel connected some way and very nice to work with opal and love doing it. I think your a great mentor as well Robert and your experience I've drawn from as well! As polishing textures and carvings are attention to detail and "repeat if necessary" is a practiced skill. Thankyou again for getting back to me, very much appreciated mate. I'll keep carving and developing on Bruno's incouragement to be brave and carve .

That piece of rutilated quartz is PHENOMENAL! I've never even seen a photo of a piece that size, with that level of flawlessness. 😳 ❤️

I don’t know much about Opal, and even less about rutilated quartz, but the Opal carvings displayed in this video blew me away !
I had no idea Opal could be carved in such a way as these examples were/are. The man who did that was an absolute genius !
Again, thank you so much for these videos.
    So cool

Thank you for your feedback. Bruno didn't just carve the opal, he read it. I had the opportunity to watch him work. He was working at a different level.

Wow, so great, thanks to you and richard for providing us this tour. I wonder, what tools was he using in the fifties to cut and polish those opals?

Thank you for watching and your feedback. A lot of this work was done after the fifties. Bruno was using fairly current technology. A good quality micro motor, diamond burs, silicon carbide paper and cerium oxide.
