A top 10 chronograph list without a Speedmaster, Daytona, Monaco, or the iconic colorways of the Navitimer or El Primero is quite audacious. I'm loving it.
I'm not fully convinced there isn't some hidden agenda with this channel. Don't talk about Hamilton because it's owned by rival group Swatch, or honest oversight? Edit - also no mention of longines or Omega.
Watchfinder : * Uploads rich guy watch list without even ONE Rolex on it. * That's because it Rolex's are the Harley Davidson of the watch world. Thank you
The Sinn 356 should have made the list at an attainable price point. A classic German chrono in some nice shades and sizes.. perhaps a little chunky for your refined sensibilities?
After watching your own channel I thought Watchfinder videos will be no longer interesting. I was wrong, very wrong. Still Watchfinder videos got better than ever. Truly enjoyed!!!!
I would recommend that you folks give the Kurono Tokyo Chronograph I and Chronograph II a look. Hajime Asaoka creating magic with the Seiko NE86. The Chronograph II White, with its inner red pulsometer and tachymeter (and outer black telemeter) in particular is quite lovely (and quite sold out).
Another great video, thank you. Apart from all the great suggestions in the other comments, I could add the Hanhart Pioneer 417 ES 1954 (currently at the top of my “must-have” list).
Great list. The Habring and Panerai made me smile. I think it's tough to overlook The Datograph though. I love the final piece being the 5976-1G, but I would slide in the Dato in lieu of the 5172. The asking price (retail lol) is close enough to the Patek for the list to still make sense. Cheers
Interesting set of chronographs. Thank you. One thing, that I would do differently, is that instead of Carrera Montreal, for the same amount of money I would go for COSC-certified Autavia Flyvback chronograph, which is what I actually did. This watch looks more subdued, but, at the same time, more interesting .
Well let me help you, I’ve got the remedy. First, sit on your hands and then bang your head on the table in fort of you. That most certainly will make you wake up. If not, go for the Patek Phillipe!
I have a Bulova Chronograph C and I love it. It is a quartz watch, but the sweeping seconds iz 4 Hz like a mechanical, and you get a 1/10th of a second subdial, which is really cool. It's a great watch under 500 if you have above average wrists like mine, highly recommend.
Excellent video. The "stepped" choices are perfect. As a total aside, for anybody who may be reading here and give a hoot, if I may sound a contrarian note (but with all respect to fellow watch lovers)... I have always been a huge fan of chronographs. They look great. But it struck me several years ago that I have almost zero use for any of the functions. Further, I feel I would be a) projecting a bullshit image versus just wearing a beautiful timepiece (more than my ego is comfortable with), and b) doing the watch a disservice. A chronograph is a marvel of form AND function -- a large part of its charm comes from the fascinating solutions it proposes to the engineering and design challenges of integrating complications, ergonomics, legibility, and aesthetics in a tight space. If I don't understand, or care about, a good chunk of that result, why the hell did I buy the thing in the first place...? In short, I'll feel dishonest wearing something purely for show to somehow impress others AND that I'll somehow dishonour something's beautifully utilitarian purpose by focusing only the cosmetic and wearing it as mere jewelry (I'm just not that person). Before anybody gets all troll-y on me, understand that I'm merely making a couple of small points here, mostly minor observations of myself and my specific thoughts and (yup) feelings (gasp) about watches...and acknowledging how personal and complex that can sometimes be with these tiny little machines. And my attempt to shine a little light on how I feel about this particular watch style has also brought me some insight into other things in my life -- ranging from the micro ("if not a chrono, well then what...dammit?") to the macro ("what person do I want to be, and what person do I want to show the world...?"). BTW, for anybody who wondered or cared what kind of watch my heart settled on...That's not quite 100% resolved yet but it's coming increasingly into focus: apparently, I desire a vintage (late 1920s to mid-70s) dress watch with no date and, aside from simple markers and badging, as few embellishments as possible...I don't give a darn about the popularity, prestige, or country of origin of the maker, as long as it is "well-made" with a mechanical movement that will be "worthwhile" to maintain for as long as possible ("heirloom"). Price IS an issue: last time I checked my bank balance, it said, "Citizen, Seiko or Timex -- and don't get too starry-eyed even then, bud." Also, while it will be heretical to many here, as much as I truly love so many exquisite and expensive examples of high horology, I have great problems with the idea of ME (not you, not your family, friends, or neighbours, or anyone else) spending an inordinate proportion of my wealth (hysterical laughter break) on a frickin' watch when there are children starving in the world (or, hell, even when my tummy's growling). [See my convenient use of my financial constraints to make myself sound as altruistic, heroic and noble as Bono!] Not that my grail won't also be some projection of bullshit self-image (low-key, pragmatic, humble), but I hope it will get me a little closer to meeting the "what I aspire to be and show the world" objective.
It seems like a pretty egregious omission to leave out the Tissot PRX automatic chronograph. The same could probably be said for the Longines Big Eye and Omega Speedmaster too.
I must say I have a soft spot for the old soviet era Poljots. If not for being exceptionally exceptional, for their history and bonkers designs towards the end of the era and the beginning of modern Russia.
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I never quite fancied Chronographs. I think the only chronograph that I've ever fancied owning is the Omega Speedmaster, but I've passed on buying it a few times now. I guess it would be nice to have one in the collection just because a Chronograph is something a collector might want to have. Anybody else feel that way?
I agree with you, very cool from a mechanical point of view but I never found an organic use for them. Sure, I can start it to time cooking, but I'm the guy doing 10 things at once so an alarm function is MUCH more helpful.
Tudor Chrono should have made the list. B01 movement with silicone hairspray and 70 hours power reserve with tungsten rotator is a good deal for about $5000. You have to admit it's a good deal for the specs and looks great.
I was kinda hoping the thinnest split-seconds chronograph movement with perpetual calendar ever built, the Patek Philippe 5373P would have made its way to this video. Great video as always. Hopefully soon it will be reviewed.🤞
Was really tempted on the Chronoscope but when I tried the pushers they seemed a bit...lacking action and feel when operated. There was some play in one of the pushers as well, seemed a bit flimsy. Maybe it was a bad unit but it didn't inspire confidence, I'll be sticking to the regular Max Bill
Seiko SARK011 column wheel and vertical clutch with that beautiful white laurel homage dial is better than many chronographs on this list, also longines aviation bigeye or complete calendar chronograph are watches that deserve a spot.
Reading the comment was interesting. There are so many watches out there that could be on this list. I guess you’re going to have to do another video. Thanks Andrew I’ll be waiting for that video. 😎
In the car world, there's a meme that says whatever kind of car you're looking for, the answer is always Miata. Cheap car? Miata. Fun car? Miata. Track car? Miata. Hauler? Miata with the top down. Similarly, the answer for watches is always eco-drive.
In general would love to see you profile a few Vostok-Europe watches....Granted most are very large dive watches and they use a combination of quartz and automatic movements from Seiko and Miyota...but holy hell they have some of the best looking and best built watches out there....it is actually hard to find one of their watches I don't like other than most are to big for my small wrists...lol..but I just don't care...they can make a nice desk clock...hehe
Great list can’t believe the speedy isn’t in there but I’m ok with that because I’m tired of hearing about it. That tag is sexy. Also love the ice blue navitimer but think it looks better on a strap.
A Chronograph list without Omega SpeedMaster MoonWatch and Rolex Daytona seemed odd at first but considering everyone here already knows about those 2 make this a very interested list.
The Bulova Lunar Pilot 96B258 should be on this list. It is powered by a 262kHz quartz movement that is accurate to within seconds per year. And it has the history of being a part of the Apollo 15 moon mission. At a cost of $USD275.00, it is hard to beat!
What about the thinnest chronograph from Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, and both A.Lange & Söhne Saxonia Triple Split and Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph. And not to forget Rolex Daytona Cal 4130 and Omega Speedmaster Cal 321.
A top 10 chronograph list without a Speedmaster, Daytona, Monaco, or the iconic colorways of the Navitimer or El Primero is quite audacious. I'm loving it.
gaytona is a crappy chronograph
Longines Avigation BigEye absolutely deserves a spot on any list of chronographs.
Was about to write the same thing!
It's the most obvious watch missing from this list. I can't believe it was missed over some niche microbrands.
It isnt that nice
Absolutely what’s wrong with Andrew 😂
Agree, especially the Titanium version!
Love the updated Navitimer. The 6 o'clock date looks so much better than the old 4 o'clock one.
I ordered a Studio Underd0g watch during their recent batch order and I can’t wait to get it. I would have never found them if not for your videos!
I expected these at the top:
1. ALS 1815 chronograph(triple split)
2. MB&F sequential evo
3. Gronefeld gronograph
Absolutely agreed. Also, how is the Speedmaster not on the list? At the lower end, Brew would have been cool to see.
@@EEE_MMM you are right! I didn’t even think about the Speedmaster!! A moonswatch also deserved to be on the list I think.
@@EEE_MMM good point brew watches in the micro brand space have really elevated the game, but I guess that’s why they chose Furlan Mari.
I was surprised the Hamilton Intra-Matic chronograph was not featured. In my opinion, easily one of the best bang for your buck out there.
I'm not fully convinced there isn't some hidden agenda with this channel. Don't talk about Hamilton because it's owned by rival group Swatch, or honest oversight?
Edit - also no mention of longines or Omega.
Yeah that Intra-Matic is a beauty. I plan on getting keeping it just because of how good it looks for the price I paid you cannot beat it.
Easily
Tudor BB chrono is a great piece as well imp
The writing of this and your other videos is perfect. Sometimes I’m more impressed with the writing than the watch being presented. Great work!!
How about an A. Longe & Söhne triple split? That's an exquisite and exclusive watch but one that would deserve a spot on this video IMO.
The A. Lange & Söhne triple split plays in its own league.
No Als datograph?? Hm….
Watchfinder : * Uploads rich guy watch list without even ONE Rolex on it. *
That's because it Rolex's are the Harley Davidson of the watch world.
Thank you
The Sinn 356 should have made the list at an attainable price point. A classic German chrono in some nice shades and sizes.. perhaps a little chunky for your refined sensibilities?
Thanks for mentioning the Sinn 356 Flieger! It's just a great piece! Cheers from Frankfurt
After watching your own channel I thought Watchfinder videos will be no longer interesting. I was wrong, very wrong. Still Watchfinder videos got better than ever. Truly enjoyed!!!!
The Breitling Navitimer is my favorite!
Interesting content. Keep up the good work on your channel. Regards, WR4K.
That Patek Philippe 5172G is a real beauty.
I love the navitimer so much, such a great design
Another great video, thank you. Apart from all the great suggestions in the other comments, I could add the Hanhart Pioneer 417 ES 1954 (currently at the top of my “must-have” list).

Maybe I'm crazy, but the 'W' in "WED" on the Junghans Chronoscope @ 3:45 is an upside down 'M', and it drives me mad!
A 10 top chronographs list without a Speedmaster and a Daytona. Not sure how it makes me feel. But it's not a bad thing for sure.
It’s a good thing
The Breitling Premier B01(Panda) is my favorite Chronograph on the market right now 🤘🏻
Timeless indeed!
Sexy watch
The only Breitling I like! Beautiful piece.
The only chronograph i love is A.lange and Sohne Triple Split Chronograph ❤
Wait, no mention of ALS Datograph?
The breitling looks so good
Longines BigEye for sure deserves a spot in here.🙂👋
Tissot PRC200, quartz or automatic. Great value from a respected brand.
Tudor Panda Chronograph deserves a mention🤔Great content as always 🙏🏼

I was expecting the last one to be a Lange
It seems like a pretty egregious omission to leave out the Tissot PRX automatic chronograph. The same could probably be said for the Longines Big Eye and Omega Speedmaster too.
Great list and as always great video. I’d like to add the PRX Chrono, Bulova Surfboard, and Tudor Montecarlo. I like the funk.
I must say I have a soft spot for the old soviet era Poljots. If not for being exceptionally exceptional, for their history and bonkers designs towards the end of the era and the beginning of modern Russia.
Very interesting well thought through selection
Favourite quote “like putting a studded leather jacket on the Queen”😂
Great spread of chronos however I would have added some, like the mechanical Sugess.
That first sentence! 😆
Not sure what's so special that Panerai went to sister-brand Montblanc and bought a few Minerva movements...
The 1st two are amazing
Hamilton’s Chronograph H. After a year of use I have no complaints and there is real history there as well.
at 8:10 there is a piece of thread inside the movement
This may be an unpopular opinion, but I never quite fancied Chronographs. I agree as well. A timer/alarm function is more useful and ultra rare in the luxury mechanical watches.
You’re not the only one. Maybe one day I will get the Speedy just because it is a Speedy, but other than that, Chronographs are not my things.
I would have definitely suggest the Montblanc Monopusher Minerva Chronograph
"Unmistakable yet easy to make a mistake while reading it"🤣🤣 pure gold
The font Studio Underdog used is unfortunate. It looks like they used the default font and forgot to change it.
What No Lange!!

Sweet! Just the video I needed right now. Lucky!!!
You are missing the Glashütte Original Senator Chronograph Panorama Date imo:)
At last a video without Rolex in it. Well done Andrew🙏🙏🙏🙏😂. Perhaps something from A Lange & Sohne or JLC next time or Glashutte Original.
Surprised we didn't see an A. Lange & Sohne in the list. Maybe the double or triple split.
My $300 Junkers automatic chronograph with a Valjoux 7750 movement. Take that, IWC pilot chronograph!!
Reading the comment was interesting. There are so many watches out there that could be on this list. I guess you’re going to have to do another video. Thanks Andrew I’ll be waiting for that video. 😎
The Furlan Marri looks great.
Great topic! Keep it up!
I respect that you made a list of chronos and didn’t mention Daytona, speedmaster Or Portugieser.

H Moser streamliner Chrono - awesome movement and the cleanest easiest dial to read…
I'd like to add the Sieko SNA 411 FlightMaster, the Bulova Lunar Pilot, and the Seagull 1963. Icons in their own right. Also the Citizen Nighthawk.

what is up with the warped looking rehaut on the TAG?

IWC Pilots Watch Chronograph 41mm. An unbelievable nice watch.
A Chronograph list without Omega SpeedMaster MoonWatch and Rolex Daytona seemed odd at first but considering everyone here already knows about those 2 make this a very interested list.
Chopard Mille Miglia a good shout?
Without even mentioning the Lange Triple Split, you´ve embarrassed yourself.
Whats the difference in chronometer and chronograph
Speedy is a must . Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue. Gotta shout out the Longiness Avigation Big EYE also
Same exercise for divers pls!
Should be a Fortis in there somewhere, A mechanical space chronograph that is actually currently used in space.
what are your thoughts on Corniche? they're advertising their asses off to me on IG, they look like the Datagraph kinda and they have the vk63 or 64

There's only one icon, the Speedmaster 😋....one day, meanwhile happy with my Bulova Lunar Pilot and True Pogue 😉
How do you not include the Hamilton Intra-Matic? Budget friendly and outstanding.
I just don’t understand why the Longines Spirit Chronograph does not get a mention at the under £3000 price point?
Any one of these would suit me, but it would have to be at least 40-42 mm case. Anything else wouldn’t work on my wrist
The Omega Speedmaster would fit well here.
I would have thrown in the Chopard Mille Miglia in this list. At 8800k it’s a gem.
All right, but Speedmaster is really missing!
The second hand on that Breitling looks really rough to me.
