Met my girl when I was living in Port Jeff and she was nannying in Westport. Taking the ferry to see her every weekend was the best! We'll be married soon. Love the ferry, just wish is was more affordable or else I'd visit LI more, since we're in Bridgeport as of now. Driving there is just miserable!
Nice. Congrats on the wedding. Yeah, it's much better just to hope on the Ferry and go. Save a lot of times and traffic headaches.
Excellent video ! I've been living in Connecticut for 60 years and this is the first time I've actually seen the Bridgeport ferry ! Very interesting and informative video ! Very cool !
Yeah, a lot of people living here do not know about it. I lived in CT for the past 25 years and always wanted to take this ferry. I finally did, and it was great. I enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching 💯
I've taken the ferry many times over 60 years. It's fun.
It's been on my to do list for over 15 years. Can you believe it? I am glad I finally had the experience. It was pretty nice.
The building you zoomed in on at 13:12 is the old Bridgeport Harbor Station coal plant. It was decommissioned in June 2021 and is currently awaiting demolition. It was the last active coal-fired power plant in Connecticut at the time of its closure.
Thank you for the information. It is very much appreciated. Thanks for watching 💯 👀
I am old enough to remember seeing smoke coming out of the smoke stack. It might have been steam, but either way, it looked awful.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've always wanted to take the ferry out to Long Island again. I was on the same ship as you, Park City. I always love a good boat ride.
@@TheAeroAvatar yes its a fun time. I would definitely do it again.
Nice , there many nice things to do in CT👍🏿.
It was a nice ride. 💯
We did the same thing as yourself recently. Just a little self-exploring. We did Orient Point ferry.
That sounds like a great time. I plan to do that Ferry as well. How was it?
Enjoyed your video. I always wondered what the ferry ride between LI and Connecticut was like. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. It is a great ride. Nice day getaway with family.
My son arrived in Port Jefferson yesterday from England for a 4 week stay at nearby Stony Brook University - I've been googling for stuff for him to do on his days off - sent him a link to your video and he's making the round trip later today :)
Glad to hear the video helped. This ferry can be a nice little family hangout.
I lived in Port Jeff for 42 years, Thanks for this video, it made me homesick, but you missed East Main Street with more shops to see, it would bring you back to the harbor also, Its's great town!!
Oh, yes I missed it, but I ll be sure to check it out next time. It really is a nice place. I can't believe it took me so long to visit. I plan to go back soon. Thanks for watching. 💯
I lived in CT most of my life, and in Bridgeport for about 25 years. Since I get seasick, I was too chicken to get on the ferry. So, glad to be having the experience through your lens, and not have to be seasick. LOL. Thanks for sharing!
It took me a very long time to finally take this ferry as well, and Iam glad I did. It was a great day to hang out. Luckily for me, I don't really get seasick. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for this video. For the 40+ years I lived in and worked out of Bridgeport, I had never once taken a ferry to Port Jefferson.
You're not the only one. I live in Stamford for 20+ years and this was my first and only time going. 😂😂 Thank you for watching 👀 💯.
@@WhoIsHerby I left Ct for Tennessee for a quieter life after recovering from heart bypass surgery 2years ago. I don’t miss the stresses of living in Ct.
Hope all is well now. But yes, leaving the CT stress was a good choice. I actually visited Nashville Tennessee first time last month. It was great. Finally, I had the hot chicken I heard so much about. 🤣🤣🤣 made a video there too.
The ride seems interesting.
Hi Gracey, It was an interesting ride. Something local. 💯
We took our vehicle on this ferry about 2 years ago.
It was truly an awesome experience indeed.

Born and raised in Bridgeport Connecticut live in Ohio but miss it very much. I never knew what that red and white stack was.
Thanks for watching. Yes, someone in the comments below said it was a coal power plant.
Thanks for posting, I am going tomorrow. Hope it is worth it, $74.00 to walk around and eat, I'll report back my experience.
Absolutely, let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching. 💯

@@WhoIsHerby did you check out the seafood spot that you mention ? If so how was it?
@vanessasumthinspecial5684 yes I did go to the seafood place, it was ok. I thought it was a but expensive but expected I guess seafood Isn't cheap 😅 🤣🤣
@@WhoIsHerby 😀ok appreciate your feed back! Keep the videos rolling.🤪
Are you not allowed to take pictures at the ferry terminals, or on the ferry? What is the policy?
I had no problem recording. Iam not sure what the policy is, but I had no problem taking photos and videos. Nobody bothers you.
taking your car only includes the driver and it’s a one way only if you take a car. No round trips if bringing your car. there is parking for the ferry and a shuttle but he doesn’t show that.
Thank you for the information.
Who know what time the ferry passv
You can probably look up the times on their website. But it seems to start at 6am then every hour after that. Be sure to check the site for more accurate info.
Bridgeport Connecticut is a dangerous place

Power plant
Yes, the old power plant. Thank you for watching and confirming this 👀
