This highway is specially really beautiful, as the landscape along the sound looks very impressive. I bet that road was pretty expensive. Greetings from Germany.
socarboy Thanks Scott, I'm just glad I went early in the morning, I saw that the highway was jam packed on the way back going the other way a few hours later.
CanadianDriver JEZ Thanks, there will be a part 2 of this up to Whistler, plus I've got footage of it the other way too (recorded later that day in the afternoon).
European Roads Before the 2010 winter olympics this road was more like that. BTW, I'm in your neck of the woods right now (staying at a hostel in Amsterdam right now), I'll be heading to Germany tommorow morning!
I've driven this road a lot...love it every time...heads up...do highway 99 from Whistler to Cache Creek (aka the Duffey Lake Road etc.) it's absolutely SPECTACULAR!
daily-explorer-ah For some reason UA-cam compression on this one is a bit more severe than I would have liked, it's a bit softer than usual. I kept reuploading my master copy hoping to get a sharper image (the master file from my editor is sharper), but youtube seems to do bad things when there's lots of trees near the road.
10:55 I can't believe this is still common practice in North America. The shoulder is not a safe space to pull someone over and have a chat. In Europe they usually put up a 'follow police' sign and they take you to the nearest exit or rest area. The chance of getting struck by distracted drivers is just too great.
European Roads yeah its pretty common here, they don't seem to worry too much about it. I know over in Europe it's a big concern because I watch that BBC show on the A1 "Britain's Longest Road", and the cops are always saying that too!
The BC Coast has to be one of the prettiest parts of Canada, with beautiful mountains, towering trees, scenic fjords, not to mention Canada's mildest climate. The Rocky Mountains do give the BC Coast some considerable competition for the title of Canada's best scenery, however.
11:31 - I like how you think that the stretch of road is narrow. Compared to some some of the 'Main' roads near me, you could land a jumbo jet on that road. But as always, still lovin' your videos!
Rick Ghosh yeah it was jam packed on my way back a few hours later when I looked on the other side of the road (you'll eventually see that one too going the other way). So it was a good thing I woke up so early to record this. This was recorded around 6:30am on a Saturday morning.
Fantastic, One of my favourite drives ever. Have you ever driven highway 99 right through whistler and up the Duffey lake road to Lillooet? It is truly spectacular
Even if there was ever a proposal to connect Alaska with the rest of the United States which the Canadian government, British Columbia, and Yukon Territory to say extend Interstate 5 into BC connecting either to Juneau or the main section of Alaska further to the north which would include Yukon Territory I can imagine such a project with US funding included being a rather expensive undertaking for all parties involved. It get me to think if even such a project of a full freeway would be possible. Keep in mind freeway does not have to be divided, all it needs to do is look one on single carriage similar to say highway 107 in Nova Scotia, AKA a controlled access expressway or Super Two.
I'm planning on a trip to Whistler Stables this Sunday and I was wondering if N drivers are allowed to drive on Sea to Sky. Are there any tips to not get dizzy, my friends said they're dizzy when they stared at the concrete barriers.
Running with force smoothy in the middle road crossing carve road again and again crossing with force speed overtaking in the road with force spssdly crossed over to you dear you have a beautiful morning of love ever to you dear you
Oh how I miss this drive -- the landscapes, the snowcapped mountains and everything so green. I remember when they were working on the road.
I just drove this last week to ski Whistler for the day, but it was dark both ways. Thanks Phil , I can see what I missed!
Beautifull places and good video.
I love watching ur videos each has its own uniqueness
What a beautiful scenery, i'm from Guatemala and love your videos from Canada.
ludwincr Thanks for visiting! Do you have any road videos yourself of the roads in Guatemala?
@@TransCanadaPhil Sorry for my late answer, but i don't have any, but i can start filming. What basic equipment do i need?
takes me back to my home town squamish
British Columbia has a lot of natural wonders and also has one of the best highways in the world to my opinion
This highway is specially really beautiful, as the landscape along the sound looks very impressive. I bet that road was pretty expensive. Greetings from Germany.
Amazing scenery and production. Thank you for sharing.
(MrSniper)+ From Mars! This one had been on my radar for so long, just glad to finally get it out there!
Simply stunning. That's a beautiful landscape there. Great job with this video!
PelicanGuy Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous drive, Phil. I'll be watching this video again & again!
I've got it going the other way too, so hopefully I'll release that one in the not too distant future.
Simply a beautiful drive...nice job!
socarboy Thanks Scott, I'm just glad I went early in the morning, I saw that the highway was jam packed on the way back going the other way a few hours later.
Excellent video, excellent music choices. :-)
Yes finally! another video, I’m getting my snacks ready and I’m going to enjoy this ride along. Keep em’ coming Phil!
CanadianDriver JEZ Thanks, there will be a part 2 of this up to Whistler, plus I've got footage of it the other way too (recorded later that day in the afternoon).
What a great ride! The scenery reminds me a lot of Norway, except that Norway doesn't have high-speed roads like this along the fjords.
European Roads Before the 2010 winter olympics this road was more like that. BTW, I'm in your neck of the woods right now (staying at a hostel in Amsterdam right now), I'll be heading to Germany tommorow morning!
Great video and I love that gondola. Shame what's happened to it.
I've driven this road a lot...love it every time...heads up...do highway 99 from Whistler to Cache Creek (aka the Duffey Lake Road etc.) it's absolutely SPECTACULAR!
Kenneth James Yes, there will be a part 2 of this, heading further! 😁
I was hoping to find this one as I've seen the scene on your opening title sequence in a few of your other videos. Great ride. Wow.
yes i loved doing this drive so much I used the footage for my intro.
That was stunning.
Freeway Franks Thanks Francis, this one was fun to drive with such a fantastic body of water on my left.
This is a road that I would love to drive. Nice work.
Asphalt Planet It was one I had on my list for while!
Gondola ride? snow capped peaks?? That gave me the chills ! Beautiful scenery !
HD quality footage of this highway is finally available on UA-cam (old ones are all sort of low quality and don't have well-drawn signs).

Like the new opening and another great video Phil. The gondola footage was awesome
CB Roads That was a fun little attraction but kind of expensive (but still worth it! IMHO)! 😁

Drove here before! Amazing scenery but unfortunately the highway was jam packed.

Ade Pashby no I just went up to Whistler! I'll have to do the rest some day
Amazing video and loving the editing subbed :)
Thanks, I'm on a bit of a hiatus but I'll be releasing new videos shortly.
You went to the gondola on May 18th. If you went just three months later, you would be unlucky.
Hariesh Pahirathan You are right. Unfortunately I heard the gondola line was vandalized and someone actually cut the line. 😩
@@TransCanadaPhil The falls in the background is Shannon Falls.

How about asking a Squamish to pronounce that. :D
