@M soccer is the worst sport and is the oldest in Australia yet still has failed when newer sports have been introduced. Soccer has had well over 200 year to establish itself as Australia’s number one sport and hasn’t. Soccer will never be number one
That 15 minute burst is some of the best football I've ever seen. I genuinely believe it marks a tactical shift from aggressive pressing and transition goals to stoppage dominance and ultra stacked midfields.
Even though they won 9 or so in a row, became minor premiers, and then made the GF, the narrative was still “are they gonna capitulate again”, “can you trust them”. It was a running theme all season. It shows how toxic AFL media and AFL can be. Melbourne’s success is a testament to the culture that Simon, the staff, the leadership group, and players built.
Tbf even us melbourne fans were thinking similar. It's just how deep the scarring from years of mediocrity was. But they defied those doubts at every opportunity
That was an epic game. After the Goal from Bayley Fritsch in the 3rd quarter the Demons absolutely crushed the other team into the ground. It was incredible to watch. Definitely the most amazing football playing I have ever seen!
The Foo Fighters song ‘Everlong’ is the perfect song for this team, this club and this premiership. The club and its supporters had been waiting for 57 years for this moment. As a Fremantle supporter I still don’t know how it feels. Probably never will
The thing that terrifies me about this team going forward is the sheer horsepower of their midfield. Especially in the grand final just watching the way Oliver, Petracca and Jackson absolutely thrusted out of the centre square, this team is scary
Not a long time supporter like many in the comments, but man it felt good... cried my eyes out when we won... cried my eyes out again when I re-watched this vid
Simon G is an amazing person and a great coach .. Evan though I’m a crows fan I’m so proud of Melbourne and was very satisfied to watch them win it all !!! Congratulations Demons FBC
I remember back in 1995, as a Carlton supporter and winning pretty much all year. I could have gone to the Grand Final but went fishing instead. I thought I would get to go another year. Watched the Grand Final the following day over a few beers and thought yeah another flag. I had seen 5 flags since 1972, cant remember 1970 as I was only 5 years old . The year I was born was the last year that Melbourne won the flag in 1964. My point being I learned the hard way not to take these things for granted, You had a good win last year but as you well know they are hard to win. I hope my blokes get a chance again in the next couple of years and if we do will enjoy it far more than I did back in 1995. Never ever take anything for granted.
@@jimmyohara2601 Having two losses is pretty much winning all year I reckon. What's your point mate? As for not knowing about it, I am 4th generation Carlton supporter and was 31 in 1995. I knew all about it. Also the year my daughter was born, great year for me.

it was hardcore, at about 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter it seemed like game over then the Dees stepped on the gas and destroyed whatever the other team was.... epic game of footy!!!
Like Richmond before you, every single person in this comment section talking about how much they love Melbourne will grow to hate you as a football club. It inevitable in footy that for some reason dominance is hated
You know every single premiership gets documentaries like this? And even if it does get lots of coverage, you’d have to be blind to not see it’s more special than your average premiership.
@@pitchen it was good, no doubt about it but no mate, they don't, it seemed like just about every other week in the off/pre season, the AFL ap or UA-cam channel had something about it and still.. 🤷🏻♂️
The way they turned it around in that grand final was insane. Scores really don't reflect how good of a game that was.
