Cube vocalists are really top tier. BTOB, 4minute, CLC, Pentagon, (G)I-DLE and now Lightsum all proved to be really good vocalists. Up to this day, I still can't fathom how Cube managed to recruit these talented idols LOL

I feel like lightsum have alot of common fans from izone. I think besides starship they have the highest concentration of popular kpop idols that came out of produce 48. They have a 6th, 21st and 51st. Very smart to try and take some of the izone stans between izone disbandment and all the members having their permanent groups.
I also think it’s smart considering it’s not even a guarantee that once the members get into their own group or solo careers they will have a similar concept to izone. Like I highly doubt starship will because they already have WJSN. The one I could see most likely doing it is Hybe and whatever they decide to do with Chaewon and Sakura. I think Minju and Hyewon are more likely to go into acting rather than continuing as an idol.
I don't think they're trying to take Iz*one as you said, i feel like this is more like a f you for people who said Chowon get rigged out because she won't fit this kind of concepts (sugary and pretty concept) so I think they're more likely to take Iz*one antis or appeals to national producers (people who watch & votes during pd48 were referred as national producers)

I think Cube Ent just bravely took this type of concept back to them considering IZ*ONE's debut song was originally meant to be a comeback for their group CLC.
For the record, "vivace" (/viˈva.t͡ʃe/) just means "lively", but I believe it's used in music scores to indicate a change to a faster tempo, which to be fair is what the chorus does.
yes, vivace is an italian term used to indicate that a passage in a piece should be played in a lively or brisk manner. So I think they used it well here :)
The girl with the "Jennie hair" is Chowon. She was on produce 48 and she was 1 of 2 girls who got affected by the voter rigging scandal. Chowon actually placed 6th overall but since she was rigged out of the final lineup, she placed 13th. She SHOULD have been part of IZ*ONE. But since we are talking about izone, I totally agree. Vivace is a step in the right direction in filling that hole.
Also, Juhyeon is the girl you said has insane camera presence, she is the phenomenal dancer who was on The Unit. She is also the leader of Lightsum 💕

I still feel so bad her. She must have been devastated, she missed a huge opportunity and while I like their music, who knows how successful lightsum will be?
They are referring to her blonde chunky front sections in her hair like Jennie had in HYLT.

I relate so much to juhyeon having the strongest presence. She's very amazing. I'm so biased but really she's very professional when it comes to stage presence. Maybe because she has the longest experience.

Like the sets and the black and white chequer clothes and sets. I’d describe it like sort of cosmic and elegant, grandeur? Giving very save me save you, puzzle moon, la la love stuff like that. So no. not izones concept really, but people coin it as that because they’re more mainstream

The problem with the missing "high note" is that the two main vocals have naturally lower ranges. If they let them sing in their natural and not head voice either Nayoung or Chowon would eat a run up!
Chowon can belt the fuck out. she has this sharp and clear tone similar as IZ*ONE's Yujin combined with (G)I-DLE's Miyeon. they just missed the opportunity to do it.
And for Nayoung, her strength is doing clear and angelic falsettos.
And not all songs have to have a high note. I think Vivace is fine without. And Chowon proved herself a high note queen many times. Vanilla is an example.

I think it really is just the lack of a true "hook" that's missing. Every time I listen to Vivace it impresses me more and more with its technical excellence, but it never gets stuck in my head and thus is rarely a song I actively seek out. It just comes up on shuffle, and I'm like wow that's a good song, and then I don't think about it again until the next time it gets shuffled in.

This was Chowon’s revenge era and I’m all here for it SHE DESERVED TO BE AN IZ*ONE GIRLIE. They slapped on their IZ*ONE and WJSN wigs and slayed per usual
They've tried two musical routes now with Vanilla and Vivace and I must say so far I'm digging their music. It's interesting to see where they're going next (if they're going back or they're going to explore genres again)
But I must point this out, I feel like they need to push the other members more (be it killing parts or just fair-ish line distribution) and not just Nayoung, Chowon, Yujeong and Juhyeon cause it felt like they're just rotating the lines between them 4 members :/

chowon said it in sumday that this "cool concept" actually suits her well. 😌 she could've rocked this a long time ago but things happen. glad people could enjoy this side of lightsum.
The funny thing is that PD complementing both Nayoung (17:17) and Chowon (17:24) about their vocals driving this song and this song sounding like it coud be on an IZ*ONE discography is that they both appeared on PD48 with the IZONE members, and it melts my PD48 heart.
The girl with the blonde frontal pieces framing her face is actually Han Chowon from PD48! She's the main vocalist now but more people probably know her for her rap in the song Rumor!
I 100% agree with you on styling cause WOW they did her absolute justice.
I recommend to all who liked Vivace to check also their other two songs, "You Jam" and "Popcorn" ... I personally liked Popcorn alot, it was produced for the same team as Vanilla, but it's so good.

11:39 i agree! As a Pentagon fan and a casual listener of Cube artists back in 2nd gen (hi 4minute and b2st), i completely agree that cube artists are underrated great and skilled singers. Great examples are Yoseop, everyone in Btob, Jinho Hui and Hongseok, Miyeon, etc. We are not gonna talk about cube's management but their artists are really well trained (and not only in singing). 🥰

Yes! I agreed with the part after the bridge, they should’ve belted a high note at that part. It would’ve been a really good high light. And it’s not like they couldn’t cause they do have a vocalist (Chowon) who could’ve done it.
Maybe you heard about these girls, the one that caught your attention is Nayoung at 1:53, she participated in Produce 48 as a EXID's agency trainee and finished at 21st place
Girl at 2:03 is Yujeong, she ranked 51st on Produce 48
A girl with great vocals and a lot of screentime is a Chowon at 2:11, she took 13th place on the Produce 48, but last year it was exposed that her rank was falsified (#6 originally) and she had to go to the IZ*ONE lineup with Lee Gaeun (ex. After School), who finished 14th (#5 originally)
The one you knew is Juhyeon at 2:21, she was really popular on The Unit and now she is main dancer and leader of the group
*I wanted that last line from Juhyeon longer, SO BADLY. The change in the melody was so good. It would have given the song a stronger lasting impression.* Still love this tho. And yes, the first few notes gave that Iz*one vibes from the get-go. Also Chowon fitting well and proving that she deserved that spot taken from her in PD48.

In terms of how you think of it being similar with Iz*one. In my opinion its cause the producer that did this song, also produced several of Iz*ones songs, that is why it gives such familiar vibes.

PD I don't know if you know but one member of LIGHTSUM was actually the 13th place in PRODUCE 48 meaning she was almost in IZ*ONE, she's Chowon the one who always sings the first line of the chorus.
both of them are main vocalists, while the lead vocalist is Juhyeon, the one you said have a great camera presence haha. they are indeed a vocal powerhouses, also dancing powerhouses! i really like the song too. their b-sides, Popcorn and You jam! are also great!!

and then the mv dropped and it's like a remix of iz*one last three cbs together with different lyrics
that is not very creative obviously and everyone can see the similarities since they had a unique sound but i think it's a cube's strategy so they'll gain the people who liked iz*one sound and since they're gone lightsum will be the only the ones who will be doing it now

My girls getting praised left, right and center, love to see it. Thank you PD for reacting to them! This song feels so much like a step in the right direction for them, this sound and style fits them so well. As you said, even if there'll never be a group that can quite fill the hole IZ*ONE left, I love seeing rookie groups taking their own swing at this concept. I think as they grow and improve, Lightsum could really bring back that sound but with their own twist to it (especially if/when Cube starts letting them produce their own music)
First 3 girls (Nayoung, Yujeong and Chowon in that order) who had lines were all on Produce 48. Nayoung is lead vocals and Chowon is main vocals.
Actually both Chowon and Nayoung are Main Vocals in this group. Juhyeon is the lead vocalist.
Cube should really upgrade Yujeong to lead vocalist considering how well she has done in Vivace. Probably all the members got to sing the whole song and they found Yujeong's vocals most suited to the lines she was given.

Ive taken the past few days to really get into lightsum and I really enjoy this group. Vivace is a great song and they have an overall talented group of girls. They are good with variety as well, their shows are very entertaining. Shoutout to lightsum, they are filling the hole iz*one left when they disbanded so I can't wait for their future!

And yes Chowon can do those powerhouse vocals that you are asking for, her range is insane. That's actually my first impression as well, I loved her adlibs in Vanilla and I thought that was missing here in the last chorus.

Yes... someone explained the first time I heard Vanilla. We think the same about Vanilla (just only fine). I like Vivace than Vanilla but then I want a song that can play in my head the first time I listen to it...something like that. I am following this group too because of Juhyeon because I watched her in UNI-T. And from then I am waiting for her to debut. Still looking forward to this group.

Ppl are saying this song gave fiesta and panorama vibes, but I think it's more violeta and panorama. The iconic beat drop chorus, as well as it being dance focused as opposed to Fiesta which had more verbal chorus lines.
CUBE ARTISTS ARE SO UNIQUE!
It's definitely an Electro pop song that progresses similar to Fiesta and Panorama with the use of similar synths and samples. I think it's a strategic move since they knew with the lack of Iz*one they could fill in the gap in the market for the moment, on-top of that one of the members were meant to debut with Iz*one creating a further parallel.
In saying that, I think it still has Lightsum's touch and personality and they did the concept very well! Great song!

I thought the music video was very pleasing to the Alice I thought this song was very pleasing it felt very beautiful very elegant and very graceful and it was very nice to be able to hear and see.
