I love this musical it's my favorite and as a Christian myself who listens to the Christian station 24/7 I love what you both did but could you maybe next time it plays on the radio say its a cover/new version of the song from dear evan Hansen because last night I heard them say "the new song from Natalie grant" when it's not a new song and it's existed for 5+ years..
I understand what you're saying. But they can say it's a new song from Natalie Grant because she just released it. Like "Sound of Silence" is by Disturbed and radio people will say, "Coming up- ... by them".

@@lmt6672 maybe because this song isnt about Jesus? The song comes from a very popular Broadway musical called Dear Evan Hanson. While you two have beautiful singing voices and this was a joy to listen to, you really need to let people know that this a COVER of a popular Broadway song from the Dear Evan Hansen musical and not one you wrote yourself. If I could make a humble request, it would be to PLEASE edit the title of this video and it's description to include the word "Cover" and give proper credit to the writers and composers of Dear Evan Hansen as well
When I heard this on KLOVE the first time, It genuinely caused me concern it wasn't noted. Then I heard Natalie talk about the song and not mention it. It seems a bit disingenuous to me. Thanks for saying it.
Girls Just Want To Have Fun was not a Cyndi Lauper original, yet when they played it on the radio they said it was Cyndi Lauper. I love Rock & Roll was not a Joan Jett original either. The fact that it doesn't say cover doesn't mean Natalie & Cory are trying to steal credit.
I just heard it on the radio a few minutes ago and I was like,”wait a minute.I know this song. This is a DEH song!”And so a sang the whole song out loud lol.
Because K Love and other stations wouldn’t dare say this was originally performed by a gay man. That would tank their listenership, and confuse the bajeezus out of people cuz it’s a great song but may conflict with their beliefs.

ISAIAH 63:7-9. I WILL MENTION THE LOVING KINDNESS OF THE LORD, AND THE PRAISES OF THE LORD, ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THE LORD HATH BESTOWED ON US, AND THE GREAT GOODNESS TOWARD THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL, WHICH HE HATH BESTOWED ON THEM ACCORDING TO HIS MERCIES AND ACCORDING TO THE MULTITUDE OF HIS LOVING KINDNESS. V9. IN ALL THEIR AFFLICTION HE WAS AFFLICTED, AND THE ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE SAVED THEM. IN HIS LOVE AND IN HIS PITY HE REDEEMED THEM AND HE BARE THEM AND CARRIED THEM ALL THE DAYS OF OLD
Okay, this cover is beautiful but- can someone explain to me why there is no credit to the original artists? Did they somehow get rights to the song? Because this is from Dear Evan Hansen, which is a Broadway musical I really love, and it seems really strange that in the UA-cam credits section, Natalie Grant and Cory Asbury are credited as the artists, and how on the radio the song is introduced as theirs. I’m sure I’m probably misunderstanding something, but would someone please explain?
I was thinking the same thing, when I was younger I would listen to the musical with my grandma, this was like 6 years ago, It doesn’t really make sense how the original artists aren’t credited at all.
with music the “artist” is the performer. sometimes that’s the same person as the writer, but often, songs are written by teams of people, and sometimes the performer isn’t involved in the writing at all
When people release a recording, they are considered the recording artists. The WRITERS still get credit for that & arguably/legally will get paid for their song being reproduced by anyone. I do agree that it'd be nice if they had said where it came from so people could know / not give credit where it's not due for the SONG, but this is not uncommon at all.
EXACTLY It messes with me that they take credit for this song knowing that it’s not theirs bc I’m a fan of hers and Lin but like you can’t just do this. I actually thought it was hers until I heard Lin and Ben sing it and that it was made 5 years ago >:|
So the same people trying to convince you that Beyoncé is a country singer, say Christian artists can’t cover songs if they hold meaning for us…… or not. Maybe we just like the song.
No hate to any of you guys or Natalie but on Christian radio stations she claims it’s her own song, and is taking a message about suicide and how to deal with it and making it Christian. No hate, believe in what you want but she should give credit before she gets sued, god can protect you from harm but not lawsuits. ❤
They will be found by who? We all know human beings will fail us and can't carry us or refuse to look for us when we are corruptly lost in the world, because they too are lost as well and lack concern. Therefore the song message should be loud and clear who will find them. As a "Christian artist"? there should be no shame or secret about the only hope of salvation for a lost world in Jesus Christ.....Luke 19:9-10 Authorized (King James) Version 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
There’s literally no mention that this is a cover and not their song in articles and reviews. It’s from Dear Evan Hansen. One of my favorite shows and the original has nothing to do with God at all. They keep saying the song is about that and it’s actually not at all, though you can interpret it that way if you want but it’s still not a “Christian” song. Give credit where credit is due!!!
I decided to look it up since I heard it on the Joy FM twice now and since I've heard the song before, knowing it's not exactly a Christian song. However, it was helped composed originally by a practicing Christian by the name of Justin Paul. But the lyricist for the song is not a Christian and supports gay rights 🤔 So I have mixed feelings I suppose, based on the backgrounds of the people who wrote this song originally. But anyway, I do appreciate the more positive implication. It's just very unclear though as to how it directly ties in with the Lord, when it does not mention Him or what He's doing for us/who He is in general. But anyway.
I mean he’s gay.. So I think he does more than just supports gay rights. Ben Platt was an awesome lyricist of the original song, and this cover is fantastic 🙂
@@rm1825114 Talent doesn't make up for the fact that he does not believe in God, and did not originally intend for these lyrics to reflect the idea of God meeting us where we are when no one else would. It's just the idea of a friend in general being there for you. And a Christian artist deciding to sing it doesn't change that fact.... This honestly shouldn't be played on the Joy FM, or any Christian station for that matter. But we've been warned about this type of thing. Just didn't think the Joy FM would fall victim to it as well. Though I imagine it could also be a lack of knowledge, in that stations are unaware. 🤔 Regardless, it's wrong. So, when I wrote this comment, I said I have mixed feelings about this.... Well, the Lord convicted me about it recently, and that is no longer the case. This is not okay. In fact, it's more than that. It's wrong.
@@rm1825114 Oh, it's not an opinion, it's a fact. But from a musical standpoint, yeah, a well-composed piece. But for a Christian station to be playing it off as a Christian song? That is incorrect, and that is just a fact. There is no middle ground nor any room for personal opinions.
Hold on... let me get this straight.... we are worshiping to a Broadway song, written by a non christain, performed and meant for a non-christain theater, and that's supposed to be okay ?? Isn't that blasphemy? You can't put a christain label on a song and make it christain. YES its a beautiful song, but its not christain, and never will be.
No? You’re enjoying the message behind the song, and there’s some secular music that can be interpreted as Christian if you work at it. Daughtry’s “Home” is often played on Christian radio even though it’s not Christian, but you enjoy its message 🙂
@@rm1825114 Dont get me wrong, i LOVE this song. its message is sweet and comforting. and i get your point, but the thought that people worshiping to a secular song still bothers me. We sing songs that praise the Lord.... but where does God's praise come from in this song? ah, anyways... to each their own i guess.🙃
@@MintyShuffle “You will be found”. The idea implies when you’re alone, Jesus will find you, so you won’t be alone anymore. Or something along the lines of God’s love will always find you even when you think you’re alone.
@@rm1825114 I get it that it can be implied that way. But i really wonder... is God praised in this song? is God praised by us taking a non-christain song and worshiping to it? Is it alright if a Christain takes something that wasn't holy and make it holy? doesn't the scriptures say not to do that? that you cant make something holy that wasn't holy... so taking into consideration this point to different things like songs and genre... secular and Christain. you cant make a christain song out of something that was never a christain song. it was never written with that intention. we can find comfort in God alone. i don't think we need to go to the world and take their songs trying to find comfort in them.
Beautiful song. Truly. But it’s also sad to me. I know Jesus is here. I just can’t see Him even though He’s my best friend. Doesn’t make sense I know. Jay Ann
Thanks be to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!

@@oncerand_directioner Hello! Yeah, I think it is inspirational. Really beautiful! Blessings have a great day🌸
@@sheilazimmerman3905 I agree that it is an inspirational, beautiful song. I was just answering your question of why this song doesn't mention God or Jesus at all
@@oncerand_directioner Lol, I kinda figured it was inspirational based on no mention of Yahweh or Yashua. Thinking, writing and talking out loud. Lol, Thank you!🙏
this sounds like the pop version of the main song that plays during the credits of a movie musical
It’s from the dear Evan Hanson musical.
That's because it basically is haha (it was just a Broadway musical first)
This song gives me this feeling with chills. This duet is so GREAT!!!!
This song helped me so much after I heard it for the first time a few years ago
I’m so glad that you’re in a better place now. I pray that you continue to be blessed.
🥰🥰beautiful song🥰🥰
Beautiful music
IN HIS LOVE AND IN HIS PITY HE REDEEMED THEM AND HE BARE THEM AND CARRIED THEM ALL THE DAYS OF OLD
Thank you so much for this Bible verse - God and Jeffrey...." In all their distress, He too was distressed..."

YOU are in our prayers, ... Scottie Morris ... Indiana missing boy✨🙏✨
You should try 😊😊pp
You will be found was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Evan was the artist who sang it before
Jesus! ❤️
😭😭tq for this 🙏🙏
Love this

I love your passion in your music.
Love your new video Natalie Grant !!!!!👍🙌 Sister Sophia Maria 😇!

So we're just doing Broadway covers now?
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
EXACTLY
It messes with me that they take credit for this song knowing that it’s not theirs bc I’m a fan of hers and Lin but like you can’t just do this. I actually thought it was hers until I heard Lin and Ben sing it and that it was made 5 years ago >:|
Lovely nice,thanks to Bellville radio.
Amen 💚🙏🙌

So the same people trying to convince you that Beyoncé is a country singer, say Christian artists can’t cover songs if they hold meaning for us…… or not. Maybe we just like the song.
I knew it, this isn’t their song, it’s from a musical called “dear Evan Hansen” from like 6 years ago
Does this mean a new album is coming soon👀
no
Yeah they’re coming out with a Broadway cover album
Pissing away twenty seven years of police service because of booze. Ask me again why I am sober
As a "Christian artist"? there should be no shame or secret about the only hope of salvation for a lost world in Jesus Christ.....Luke 19:9-10
Authorized (King James) Version
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Well...its a cover of a song from Broadway
🌞
There’s literally no mention that this is a cover and not their song in articles and reviews. It’s from Dear Evan Hansen. One of my favorite shows and the original has nothing to do with God at all. They keep saying the song is about that and it’s actually not at all, though you can interpret it that way if you want but it’s still not a “Christian” song. Give credit where credit is due!!!
When you carry God with you, everything is about God.
like coment this god i king of king
But anyway.
Interesting insight about he author. Thank you.
It's wrong.
@@lethalprincess2087 You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. I thought the song was great in the musical, and this cover is pretty good too 🙂
@@rm1825114 Oh, it's not an opinion, it's a fact.
@@rm1825114 anyways.... im just stating my opinion. God bless. :)
Beautiful song. Truly. But it’s also sad to me. I know Jesus is here. I just can’t see Him even though He’s my best friend. Doesn’t make sense I know.

So know dat now .
why dont they give credit to the musical, Dear Evan Hansen?
