How come you get the older kids the same as the littles...... my kids have way different interests if I got my 17 year old what I got my 6 year old I can't imagine him using the stuff

GREAT idea about the box of individual ornaments!! You don't need fancy writing, they will recognize your handwriting, and know those ornaments came from a place of love! I always leave my stocking shopping for last....its my favorite and least stressful part! Merry Christmas to you all!
As kid, my stocking has an orange, an apple, salted shell peanuts and hard candy. Maybe dimes, pickles and pennies.

My stocking also had an apple and an orange but also candy. I try and keep that tradition with my kids but I also add fun and useful items.
I did too, but this is no longer 1932. I never even liked apples and oranges.
I'm 18 and we usually always had a fruit too, as well as nuts in the bottom like walnuts and pecans. Also it's a tradition for us to get a weird food item in it, like a can of sardines or spam 😂

I’m 41 n me n my sister who’s 36 still get stockings with ALL of the gifts wrapped xx😜 only the fruit n choc coins r unwrapped n at the bottom of the stocking (I’m from UK) xx it’s tradition in our family n can’t c it changing anytime soon xx❤🎁
I wrap anything thats not a snack in their stocking.... When I was little I loved opening little presents in my stocking before I got to the actual presents... Since stockings were opened first, it kinda felt like we were getting to cheat a little lol... Now I do it with my kiddos..
It’s crazy here in Indiana too! With the flash freezing and snow and everything. Not a foot of snow but with the wind and negative temps it’s crazy. And supposed to be in the 40s-50s this time next week.

Holy crap it cost like 900 just for the gift cards for stockings nevermind the rest of it.
what would be easier to do stockings is if you lay one of everything with each stocking in a pile and then you know that everyone received what they were supposed to and then that pile goes in that stocking. No keeping up with what you've already grabbed, haven't grabbed or never did grab.
I don’t understand where do you put so much junk in this already cluttered house. Just throwing out all that crap from those 12 stockings would make me feel so much better.

****Little Tip...I absolutely love watching you do this stuff as well as packing. But here is a little tip. I am a teacher and I have to sort out for a bunch of kiddos so I go to the Dollar store, and I would do extra do say 20 little baskets and when you do stuff you can sort items into each basket then fill what your doing. Same with packing and I even notice for laundry. Maybe those flat laundry baskets and have each child have one of their own so when you pack you can fill each clothes basket with items then add into suitcases and when you do laundry sort into each basket for each child as you fold. Just little tips from a teacher that had a bunch of kiddos to help organize a little more:)❤
I was about to comment the same exact thing ! I love doing Easter baskets for all my little cousins and nieces which ends up being like 10-15 and I do the same thing ☺️

These last two comments nailed it on the head. It’s a crazy amount of double handling but don’t you get why she does it? She needs massive piles of **** to use as screen grabs for UA-cam videos and tik toks. Why else would unboxing and sorting take an hour? She thinks more minutes equals more $$.

If you gave them less to begin with you wouldn’t have to stress over who didn’t get slime or a hacky sack. Isn’t everything going to end up on the floor and no one will know what belongs to who and fighting over who’s it is sounds like a great way to spend Christmas. Maybe simplify just a thought.

I love the idea of the ornaments in their stocking I’ve made it a tradition every year to buy a least one new ornament for the tree.
We have those Pottery Barn Stockings too and love them. I actually have the 4-5 foot stockings as well. Love all the stocking stuffers.

I get useful stuff in my stocking like lotion, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, candy, face masks, travel shampoo and conditioner, gum, and a bunch of other stuff

Tip for future if you get boxes/bags first and fill the boxes with stocking stuff once the boxes are filled you can sort each box into a stocking

I do not put crappy toys in stockings. I spend more and give less x
- with quality items that will be used for a long time …. Eg socks, underwear, treat foods, t-shirt, gift card, small items of what they are really into and collectable …..etc. My teen boys would literally look at all that stuff for a minute and would never use it again…..or would never open it to begin with.

I can't do calligraphy writing either. A fun way to write their names is to put a circle dot at the junctions of the lines, and at the ends. So, for example, for an A, put a dot on the top peak, then a dot at the end of the two legs. For a J, put a dot at the top and end of the line. Try it next time you're doodling. It's a little creative. Enjoy wrapping and Merry Christmas to y'all!

I decided a long time ago that this isn't what christmas is about. If it stresses us out and is meaningless, then we skip it. It's difficult to imagine buying things just to have them. Quality over quantity is MY motto...I understand my opinion is not gospel! happy holidays to the dd.

I raised mine to give as well as receive....we have volunteered for thanksgiving and christmas day every since they were old enough to understand. they appreciate the small things such as hot meals, warm beds and parents that are there for them! we all have our own idea of what christmas is about, I can't knock it!

I believe ist’s difficult (and needs a lot of time) to buy individual things for the socks for 12 kids, but in my opinion it‘s important to consider the age. Yes, presents are cool and kindly, but honestly, your older kids are teenagers, they don‘t like (cheap) toys anymore. I think it‘s important to promote the grownup of any kid. We always use stockings for more practical things like deodorant, nail polish, lotion, lip balm, earrings, body wash, socks, underwear, etc.
