I love this band for their real honesty and authenticity. Something you don’t see very often in this world these days. Been a fan for 18 years now and just as passionate about them.
These are insanely deep answers he is giving. I really love hearing every new album you guys give! It gives a sense of reflection and timing in the Universe
I love that about Jim. He's just not afraid to give serious background and thought to the albums. Seems like so many others are afraid of alienating listeners with it.
It’s pretty awesome that they’ve been able to do this for so long. I feel like they have such a wide range of age groups of fans with different albums that really made an impact for each group. I’m 31... so bleed American was my shit. Seen them live a bunch of times and definitely one of the tightest bands I’ve ever seen. I’ll be 70 yrs old still bumping jimmy. Stay humble fellas and keep putting out great music!!
I have a fun JEW story. I was at a house party in AZ and these two guys were there after one of their shows. They started ranting about what a dork their drummer was, he always went straight home and never partied with them. So they asked me to call him on the phone, talk dirty to him, say I was a sexy girl who had a crush on him blah-blah just to get him to come to the party. I did it and he bought it but everyone laughing in the background gave away it was a joke and in the drummers words "now I gotta go back to bed all horny". 😂 Being a teenager was so much more fun than this 30 yr old crap lol.
I love a lot of musicians that I think are talented but expect are not very kind in real life. I feel like these guys are genuinely kind and love them more for it!
Thank God for these vids. I'd be too nervous to even meet them, much less conduct an interview. Never seen them live. I'll consider it, I'm just painfully shy and don't go to concerts.
Man, I guess I’m pretty shy.. introverted but had to see them live and have been lucky to have seen them 2 times.. first time was at the Fillmore in SF when they were touring for Chase this Light.. second time was the Futures 10 year anniversary at the Oakland Metro.. both times I was front and center lol. I just had to be there front row.. I was singing out loud with everyone else all the Woahhhhhh’s after… sing it back! and the ahh ahh ahh ahh’s in Polaris.. or the vein in kill.. I can’t help it baby this has been in vein.. (veinnn)… I’m still shy still an introvert but there you kinda let yourself go a little..have fun with everyone else who loves Jimmy Eat World, got a green base pick from Rick first time and a set list second time..
@Aboutfigs155 Thx for the kind words and advice. Jimmy Eat World def seems like a great and giving band to their fans. Polaris is one of my favs from Futures. I see that you're a bassist, yourself. That's pretty cool. I always wanted to write songs
God, I'm going to sound like a proper old man dad here but there is no need for the interviewer to drop F bombs when both Jim and Tom are so polite and humble
Clarity is most definitely one of the greatest records of ALL TIME! I wonder if that offends them in a sense that none ever says that any of their other albums are at that level. It's probably bitter-sweet in a way. Always being compared and held you a standard set by something you wrote 20 years ago. Sorry boys, it's the truth. Maybe it would be worth trying a Clarity 2. I know it's important to grow and mature and evolve as artists but you have done that for 7 or 8 records. I know that's obnoxious of me- especially being a songwriter myself, but it would be soooooo well recieved. Saves the day did it with Sound The Alarm and it was one of their all time best records.
I'm sure Jim's next album will focus on the imminent danger the Rainforests are in and the death of the planet with album art from forest fires around the world.... I can already see the hit singles: "Greta's Burden", "Pride and Privilege", and "Burn the Heretic".
He basically said it's hard to get a sitting president to leave unless he's doing a bad job. That's when he realized that Trump is doing a great job and had nothing bad to say lol.
Almost every major entertainer is going to be anti-Trump. The entertainment industry is largely partisan democrat, and to step out of line with that would be dangerous. Just look at what cancel culture does with people like Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle, just for being comedians. They are not at ALL conservative, but they ARE out of step with SJWism and mainstream democrat sensibilities.
You almost got me there with the Thumbs Up lol. I'm left-wing all the way. I don't let my political beliefs get in the way of another's, though. Biden FTW.

The way these guys stay so humble and candid after all these years are one of the biggest reasons I'll always follow them.

I'm a Static Prevails guy.

I can understand that. Proper decorum is important.
What would the moves for a sun dance be?
May I direct your attention to Praise the Sun!?
They could have put out some more comfortable seats for these guys. 🤨
And a less socially-awkward interviewer. lol.
is it already released?
October 18
Single just released

Yes because they will definitely release their album when these things will be relevant
Jimmy saves pop-rock again!
I dont know why but he kinda looks like Jim Carrey.
Not a bad thing by any means, but they share a strange resemblance.
I'm s a Jim interview...let Tom talk....lol
I love President Trump and Jimmy Eat World!!🤘🏻
We can forgive them ;)
Silent majority
Yeah I was surprised by their reaction.
Yeah, my favorite band for 20 years! But why get into politics now?!! Ugh...
People were definitely disenfranchised but maybe for a good reason?
"We just think the country is so polarized and that it needs to stop"...*goes onto use polarizing rhetoric*

I am surprised to find out that they're anti-trump. I don't care how they think politically, just don't put that into the music.
Get ready to have your mind blown by this incredible fact... Anybody can stop listening to any band at any time. You have the power.
