  • Step inside our aviaries and watch a Cooper’s hawk hopping about and a Northern harrier and American kestrel chowing down. Plus, check in on the turkey vulture featured in last week’s episode! These spaces are important for birds of prey in their final stages of recovery as they strengthen their flight muscles and get used to the outdoors again. Watch these majestic birds in action.

How wonderful! Thank you for taking us on a mini tour of your raptor aviaries. TWC continues to amaze me with your level of care and creativity! I love seeing all the different ways you created partitions and mimicked the habitat of the raptors... also the amount of work on so many different levels that you do... not just receiving injured creatures, assessing and treating them but also all the work in housing them as they heal or await release. This is why I love donating to you, you can see the money in action... you continue to grow and do what you can with what you have. I wish government funding would be made available to you but for now, we'll advocate on your behalf and spread the word of the exceptional work you're all doing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It wasn't clear how large the enclosure is. I imagine they are able to fly in there. That is nice to give them a safe space to get their strength back. Also, likely not but was that the same vulture that had lead poisoning? I know you have alot of birds so maybe not.

      Hi @carndt2911,
All of our large bird of prey aviaries are spacious and ensure the recovering birds can gradually strengthen their flight muscles as they prepare for release. Also, good eye! That is the same vulture that was suffering from lead poisoning. He's doing much better and eating well 💚

The turkey vulture tyke is looking fabulous. Those kestrels are adorable - big raptor attitude in a petit version.
