When I was demonstrating the seat position early in the video I put the seat too far forward when showing the solo position. The seat is in the correct position later in the video when I am paddling solo. I also wanted to clarify that the kayak is $999, not $899 (that's the LiteTackle) Thanks for watching!
Really like the looks of this his tandem. I'm 210 lbs and wondered how this does for bigger guys. You standing right up in the solo position was very impressive!

As a dealer myself I can say that inventory has been very difficult to get this year. Unfortunately I can't yell you where to check at this point. Good luck amd thank you for watching!
Looking good man! Wife and I got the same Crescent Crew a few years ago. We've been looking at adding a motor to help on the 'return trips' after long days. Would you say the motor mounted adequately as-is or would you suggest mounting plates for added security? Thanks!
I was wondering if you have had any trouble with the trolling motor directly on the transom. I am looking to put one on my Crescent and I keep seeing people making trolling motor mounts. Just wondering why they don’t attach it right onto the transom like you did.
Hi Roy thanks for watching. I haven't done any long term testing. To the best of my knowledge Crecent designed this kayak for a trolling motor so I think you would be just fine. Just don't overnighter the clamp that attached the motor or I could see the hull being damaged.
Is this kayak stable enough for 6' 240 lb guy? As far as getting the high rise seat in it & stand up casting ? Appreciate the video & any info. Thanks.
How long do you think this thing would last at full power? Also, is there way to rig up a kill switch? Imagine falling out and the kayak keeps going. LOL.
Time depends on your battery, I run 100AH lithium and it easily last all day. I'm sure there is a way to hook up a killswitch but I have never looked into it.
@@FishingwithFaron Even at max power? I mostly just want to use it for stuff like going upriver against the current. Then floating back down without it. Or checking the other side of a big pond/lake. Once I get to my destination I don't plan to do a lot of trolling.
Are there any transom mounted trolling motors that can be operated by remote? All I see out there are bow mounted. It appears it could be difficult to reach the throttle from the center position
@@dcd2060 Awesome! I am using an Amped Outdoors 100AH, with a battery box I got from Walmart. The lithium batteries are expensive compared to lead but worth it to me. If you aren't ready to spend that kind of money for a battery I have had good luck with the Everstart deep cycle batteries from walmart.
Awesome video sir! You and Headwaters Kayaks sold me on the Crew. We freaking love it! We now have the Crescent Ultralite for my wife . The CK1 is my baby and we now added the Crew because our son is back from college. Question to you is, how hard was the install of the trolling motor and would you consider doing a video for it?? TY!
Glad to hear you are enjoying being a part of the Crescent family. The trolling motor simply has to bolts built into that clamp onto the transom, strap a battery down in the back, attach the minnkota steering extension and go motoring. Thanks for watching!
@@FishingwithFaron Thanks a ton! Some of the mounts and videos out there look complicated with tons of steps and not simple at all so this is great. I ordered the Minn Kota with 40 pounds of thrust.
I just purchase two of these for myself and the family. Love them. I was wondering if you can still reach the trolling motor throttle when you are seated in the solo position?
Can you recommend a paddle for this kayak? I am 6'1" and my wife is 5'1". Also, is your extension handle Minn Kota or aftermarket and is a 55lb thrust overkill?
Depends on paddling style but I would think you would be most comfortable with a 250 or 260. I would look at an adjustable 240-260 that would allow you to have just the right length. Your wife may would probably be able to use something around 230cm. The handle is a minnkota and a 30# thrust motor would be plenty and use less battery. Thanks for watching!
@@FishingwithFaron Thank you. Love the video. My wife watched it with me and said to be sure to tell you your daughter is adorable! One more question, is a 36" shaft ok for this?
Thanks for the great review ... a couple of quick questions ... I understand the Crew has an enhanced rear keel/skeg, how does it track? Does the stern drift to either side when you stop paddling (something my Lure 11.5 loves to do, stern drift that is)? Thanks again for the great info...

When the front seat is facing backwards, we call that "Date Mode" :)
"Date Mode" it is!

You shouldn't have any trouble.
You won't have any problems. I just purchased one and went solo this morning @ 6'2" 280lb, it really handles well.
Great video. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Any chance you can send link to your paddle and motor?

@@FishingwithFaron Awesome. Good tip, appreciate it!
My question is how hard is it to get back to the motor to raise it up if you're coming into real shallow water like we have in front of our cabin
Not bad, I have a rope on the release.
what is the motor model number, and it's parts? Thks
It's been to long to remember. It was a short shaft minn-kota, I think 42# thrust maybe.
What is the trolling motor you put on this?
I belive it was a 40ish pound thrust short shaft minnkota.

Can you control the trolling motor from the solo position with the u-extender?
Yeah sure can.
Where can I get that extending arm with that swill piece mines is a solid extension and can't turn properly
Anywhere that sells minn-kota, Walmart, academy, and basspro.
Is that a Minn Kota tiller extension or another brand? It is a U joint right? How long is the extender?
@@johnrussell3507 yes it is the minnkota with ujoint. I am not sure what the length is.
What model minn kota motor were you using? Thanks
I can't remember the part number on this one, I usually recomend the C2-30
What are these like in shallow Creek water
They have a shallow draft and are really maneuverable for a 13' kayak.
Is this kayak stable enough for 6' 240 lb guy? As far as getting the high rise seat in it & stand up casting ? Appreciate the video & any info. Thanks.
The seat riser makes a little difference in stability but I doubt you would have any trouble at all. Thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thank you! I appreciate the sub Robert.
Great review. Would you say the transom is stout enough for a 2.5hp suzuki?
Thank you, it seems stout but I would definitely check with the manufacturer and see what they recommended.

In the rear tankwell.
