One thing I like about Jimmy is that during his Hall of fame acceptance speech in 2005 he took a few minutes to name all the guys he managed during his career, that was so classy of him and it shows how dedicated he was as a manager.
I'm calling it now ... JIMMY HART IS AN ALIEN!!!!! He's what, almost 80 years old?? And he looks no older today than he did at the original Wrestlemania in 1985. He's a freak of nature. Just gotta love the guy.
It is hard to describe, but Jimmy Hart was the king weasel of the manager circuit, and when paired with the two biggest singles weasels, they formed the ultimate weasel tag-team. And it worked *extremely* well. The title match with the Natural Disasters mixed in with the Nasty Boys confrontation, was amazing. The GIF of Jimmy Hart being thrown at Ted and Mike off the podium is gold.
Hi Ted one of the main reason's for you guys getting Jimmy Hart was a reward for years of loyalty as Ted you and Mike were either the main event or right near the top of the card and he deserved it for his hard work nobody he ever managed were main eventers like he had the Hart Foundation they were tag champions but they weren't even upper midcard at that time he had Honky Tonk but same situation despite the long IC title reign
How does it not make sense on paper? There has been many guys great on the mic with managers. Rick Rude, Perfect, LOD, Big Bossman, Mankind, the list goes on. Jimmy Hart solidified the team as they at first just looked like two random guys put together. Jimmy Hart's character being a traitor by ditching his teams for where the gold was made his character more of a sleazeball which attracted more hatred to Money Inc
I was surprised to see Ted Dibiase having a manager like Jimmy Hart or Sherri Martel (God rest her soul). Besides Virgil, I don't think Ted needed a manager since he's one of the best talkers that I've ever heard in wrestling.
Because Managers aren't just there to help workers who can't cut a good promo on their own. Managers serve a multitude of roles, most of them if they are heels. Managers can be great additional heat magnets. They can cheat, distract the referee, help their client win their matches. That's why you had heels who could talk, like Rude, DiBiase, HBK etc. paired with managers. It also helps with the booking. Instead of having the wrestler constanty cheat, have the manager do it Instead of always having the heel wrestler gets the DQ, have the manager do it. It simply adds another level in that regard. Lastly, Managers want good clients. They don't want some scrub from the lower tier, they want the big calibers. This is especially true with the "Families", like Jimmy Hart's First Family in Memphis or why DiBiase was their with the nWo, even though the original members were more than capable to do great promos. Lastly, in kayfabe, a Manager also serves the role to demand title matches for their clients or big main events. They also serve as coaches, this was for example obvious when Bobby Heenan managed Mr. Perfect. At the time, Heenan was doing this coach style gimmick, where he would scribble on the TV screen and in kayfabe explain why a wrestler lost and all that. So Hennig hired him as the tactician as well. And of course with female wrestlers, there's a whole other dimension as why they are important. Wether it's as eye candy but also heat magnet, because it shows that truly this ghastly heel can get the hottest women or you go the racial route, while that is probably too outdated today, it was a thing in the past. For example Sunny managing Farooq was an insane heat magnet, simply because it's a white woman and a black man, most of the crowd absolutely despised seeing that. So yes, managers serving even capable talkers makes a lot of sense and serves a lot of good purposes.
@@jd9119 I wouldn't call Mike Rotunda a Marty. He had a very good career prior to coming back to the WWF in 1991. That is what made Money Inc. so special; it was a team made of singles heels who were veteran ace wrestlers.
@@jd9119 Also, you are right. Mike needed to either keep it short or to have it scripted. He was not a spontaneous type of improviser. But, when handled right he was good. His IRS vignettes are an example.
@@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 I was just saying. Ted went on to run the Million Dollar Corporation. IRS went on to be VK Wallstreet. Tell me that's not being "the Janetty."
@@jd9119 Rotunda's career was winding down in 1996, and by then he already had a very good singles career in NWA/WCW and WWF. Like Ted, once he retired he became a Producer for the WWF, but stayed for 13 years. Rotunda is in the Thesz-Tragos HOF. Jannetty wish he had a career as good.
I'm thinking it was mostly to turn the Natural Disasters face as the LOD left for awhile due to Hawks issues. That's why the newly formed team Money Inc suddenly won the tag titles on a house show. Gave the Disasters a reason to feud with Money Inc going into Wrestlemania 8 as Jimmy Hart "betrayed" them and "helped" Money Inc win the tag titles.

I could be wrong but I think he mentioned even the wrestlers that Jimmy managed for a while.
Jimmy Hart is a true class act.

Lol !! Jimmy hasn't aged a day in 35 years
I met Jimmy when I was a child in the 80s, and he went out of his way to be super nice and sweet to my mom, sister and I. ❤Jimmy!
They didnt need hart but jimmy never hurt anyone by managing them
Jimmy Hart is one of the greats!!! 👑
Jimmy Hart was at his best in his pre-WWF Memphis days.
Jimmy Hart, not sure what foods you eat but damn, you look sooo damn good for you age!!!!!! Man is soo good on the mic!!!!!

2 hours early for a flight is super early??? that’s literally when you’re supposed to arrive. lol
Going to make Ted Dibiase jealous? I have a 1956 vinyl sealed of Elvis Presley. AMAZING!
IRS was not a great talker but Dibiase was a great talker.
He wasn't bad if you kept his interviews short. But yeah he's definitely the Janetty of that tag team.

Three belt holders together. Even Jimmy Hart one time defeated that no good Lawler in the ring, he cried a river about losing the belt afterwards.
IRS deserves to be in the WWE HOF
Rotunda is in the Thesz-Tragos HOF which is the more prestigious of the two anyway by a fair margin.
Loved the mouth of the south JH. Hated him as a kid though😂 and he doest age either still looks like its 1986 still for him
They did need Jimmy Hart
Money Inc was badass, a long with Jimmy Hart, I just hated, that he joined the so called Mega Maniacs afterwords!
Ted and Jimmy were brilliant,so entertaining, but Mike while being a solid wrestler was as dull as dishwater as IRS
Bob backund. And dean malenko. Are 2 prime examples of guys Tht should have had a manager Both were horrible on the mic. No personality and boring. 👋
Bob Backlund was managed by Arnold Skaaland.
@@adamminsky4442 yup. But he wasnt good on the mic
@adamminsky4442 Funny thing is, Skaalund wasn't a real hype monster on the mic either.
Got to unsub because you will not even do a full episode.
